  1. Notes for Week 3 of the Playoffs, one game of interest per class 6AD1: Katy vs North Shore @ NRG 6AD2: Longview vs Klein Collins @ Abe Martin in Lufkin( That would be like Texas playing IDK, any random school, at Norman.) 5AD1: Aledo vs Amarillo Tascosa @ Snyder. Might not be a great game, but thought Tiger Stadium was an unusual venue for them 5AD2: Texarkana Texas High vs PNG @ Natchitoches, LA 4AD1: Lampasas vs Canyon West Plains @ Mustang Bowl in Sweetwater. Weird that Lampasas is Region 1, and the Mustang Bowl is a unique stadium from before the high dollar monstrosities dotted the landscape of Texas High School football. 4AD2: Region 3 all have 3 losses with Gatesville at 5. Best matchup in that class is likely Wimberly vs Cuero, from Region 4. 3AD1: Malakoff vs Jefferson @ TMF Rose Stadium in Tyler. Both 12-0. 3AD2: Poth vs Lexington @ Bastrop 2AD1: Ganado vs Refugio @ Port Lavaca 2AD2: Somerville vs Junction @the Pfield. I just think the Yeguas is a fantastic mascot, and Somerville hasn't won a lot through the years. 1AD1: Newcastle vs Westbrook. Westbrook won their Round 2 game 116-110 over Robert Lee 1AD2: Loraine vs Benjamin@ Hamlin. The Mustangs are 2 time defending state champs, lose 3time POTY in Grayson Rigdon, and keep on truckin. In Round 3, there are 15 teams with 4 losses still in play. There are 4 teams with 4 losses: Klein Collins, Amarillo Tascosa, Daingerfield, & Kerens There is ONE team with 5 losses remaining: Van Vleck
  2. High Tide in Norman...
  3. I am losing my mind that Bryson Daily is still in for Army with 6 minutes to go in the 4th Q, down 49-7. Zero reason for him to be in the game, given the value he has for the team and no chance for winning today. Use your melon, Monken.
  4. Short year for Mart=/= getting blitzed in a District game and two weeks later losing to a 2nd place District finisher in the playoffs. Short year for Mart means losing in the semis.
  5. I went back and edited
  6. Fla got fucked. It's either incomplete or a fumble. I thought it was a fumble.
  7. Overton 31 Mart 30 2015 is the last year the Panthers bowed out of the playoffs before Round 3. 'Twill be interesting to see if Kevin Hoffman is retained for the 2025 season, with rumblings about the relationship with the school board. He is 131-15-0, with State titles in 2017, 2018, & 2019. In only 3 of those 10 seasons at Mart, did the Panthers NOT go 10-0 in the regular season. Those are crazy numbers.
  8. If a player is ejected in 3Q, do they sit out 1stH of next game?
  9. You would be arresting a metric shit ton of folks in the country for that type of driving. Lots of times local LE knows, but it's accepted as long as the kids aren't being idiots. Virtually everyone is driving tractors, farm trucks and shit when they can reach the pedals, maybe not as much today as when we were kids. You knew if you fucked around the beating would be worse than actually getting caught. Oh wait. Arrest my mom before she beats my ass!!! That Jeep would be just another vehicle to drive over to neighbor's place 1/2 a mile a way. It really was no big deal. A lot of folks still do it. Now let's talk boats. and after that, guns. It was a MUCH different world back then.
  10. I’m cool with religious curriculum- with a twist- do different religions each 6-weeks and that doesn’t mean Baptist- Church of Christ- Methodist for half of the year. Go around the world, so to speak. Horrifying to some, I know. If kids opt out, let them do deeper language arts or others mediums of inspiration/ introspection.
  11. tis but a few examples. https://www.surlyhorns.com/board/topic/38885-so-whats-it-gonna-be/#comments
  12. Funny. that's the same question I am asking. Statements were made, verdad? Nothing moved.
  13. I'm still waiting to feel the void from the lefties withdrawing from all of the alleged helping they did for other people.

  15. what's another 4-5 years? The last 28-29 didn't matter.

  17. and appreciates the deposit.
  18. That's fair too. Your assessment... not necessarily the fees.
  19. The FAFO was for the wildlife and brats arsenal.
  20. This post makes me simultaneously laugh my ass off at the pure truth dripping from the words. Then again, I also feel like this guy at what has happened to (some) youth sports.
  21. If it's NYC or somewhere that people can access it by mass transit, then yes, I agree with you. In the examples I shared, every fucking customer is parking. Put the cost of parking in the cost of the room and go.
  22. "Convenience fees" are what make me laugh/ shrug my shoulders on those transactions. I purchased online so your overhead is cheaper than fuck and you don't have to pay someone to constantly staff a booth/ ticket office; but hey here's a $19.95 convenience fee for making it so convenient for us, the vendor.
  23. No. Total cost isn't my problem, except that I feel they should be more explicit about the total cost. If I go to Target and get a $12.99 shirt, I expect sales tax at the register. When i go to a restaurant, I expect both sales tax and to pay a tip. My complaint about this parking fee is that it is just plain bullshit for no added service. The parking lot exists whether I am there or not. It is not covered, nor is the vendor providing security. It is not valet. It is just straight up margin enhancement. My beef is that they should just reflect it in their initial price quote when you are shopping for the room. To be honest, the $3fee in Mankato pissed me off for just the principle involved. I was looking at my receipt a few days later and i was like, "Really bitches??? In that freaking wide open place?" this coming from a dude who hails from wide open spaces of all wide open spaces in West Texas. Coming soon: electricity access fee. I mean, they gave me lights, it should cost more for them to actually work, right? My complaint absolutely fits the spirit of this thread.
