News at 11. Women who are less covered in makeup look less made up.

im sure you have a hard on for the Psaki, who’s also attractive. But this shit isn’t even close. It’s why one will have a career in TV going forward and the other one won’t.  No blondo glasses here friendo, although I appreciate the entire spectrum. Reds are my kryptonite.  I signed up for that particular crazy train for life, even.

You’re aware that Psaki had a career in TV before taking this job right?

No she really isn't.  She wears about a half a pound of makeup and even allowing for the makeup/no makeup difference, she's really not particularly attractive.

I'd actually be willing to concede a level of "sharpness" before hotness.

    Take off your blondo goggles.

Yea I’ve always thought she looks like shit. Unless you’re into the bimbo look

My point is you’re bitching about previous years while completely ignoring this years potentially great team

it’s really fucking stupid but y’all enjoy rooting for the Texas longhorns to lose so you look “smart” on the Internet

Your point doesn’t make sense because there’s no evidence this team is any different. No one is rooting for us to lose. That you think this is a potentially great team shows you haven’t been paying attention to this or previous seasons under Shaka. It’s really fucking stupid for you to think that pointing out the problems means rooting to lose.

So... I don't watch CBB as much as I used to... Somebody tell me, has Shaka had NBA talent like Rick had at the end of his tenure.

I used to complain that Rick underperformed the talent and couldn't get them to rebound or make a FT to save a game... But I don't know if he could have changed that much.

I haven't seen or heard of anywhere near the level of players in the last six years. I know it took Rick a while to get that level of player consistently.

I'm not trying to compare recruiting ability, just curious as to where the board sees the talent level. Basketball is the sport where talent generally wins, and I don't recall Texas having to talent. I think this season is probably the best talent we've had under Shaka, yes?

We’ve had 3 guys drafted in the first round in his five seasons, 2 of them in the top 10. We will likely have 2 from this current roster drafted in the first round as well. Talent isn’t the problem.

People talk about the first pyramid show at Coachella in hushed and reverential tones. I would love to have been there.

The RAM thread on Shaggy was great.

Very sorry for your loss Hobbes, and very sorry that I (like most others) will never get to see them.

Yup, an item from my bucket list that will now never get to be crossed off.

I took it more as even though there is not much common ground in politics beliefs and political values and political ideals between AoC and a lot of folks in Texas, we can respect her as a person and human being. Being politically diametrically opposed is not a disqualifier to respect and appreciate someone, in other words.

It’s acknowledging that AoC as a politician might also have some “good sportsmanship” to her, which goes to show how savvy a politician she is. Whether she’s truly helping for goodness sake or whether it’s awesome politic’ing to rub Ted’s nose in it and show Texans how horrible Ted is (which is working flawlessly), she’s earned the win here. She’s a beast and she’s fun to watch politically.

If he respected her as a human being he would just say thank you. This isn’t hard.

Yeah, but Jenkins doesn't have the "take your guns" albatross.  Plus Jenkins is just as likeable, stable while coming off as less an activist.  That's a bit like the Biden vs every other 2020 D candidate.    Jenkins covers a lot of bases.

I'd like Staci Williams to run for AG.   She ran for Supreme Court,  but fell short.  She's an impressive person.

Everyone who isn’t a Republican will be painted as a socialist, baby killing, gun snatching pedo. The only way to win here is massive turnout and Beto is probably the best chance at that.

Only thing you (or me) can do is hope Jota can provide a spark and we can go on a run. Clearly City’s title but I still have some European hope. Maybe having VVD back in training and in the room can help.

We certainly aren’t out of the race for top 4. The teams above us haven’t proven they are capable of sustained runs of form. Obviously we haven’t this season also but we are in the hunt. Agree on Jota and I think that will help. If anything we can just put the four attackers on the field and start trying to out score teams. Season sucks but what can you do. We should be better but the injuries are utterly devastating

what a fucking performance by Joel Embiid. just bullied and dominated the Bulls in every way tonight. that last shot to put the game away was ridiculous. what can't he do?

    final: 50 pts, 17 reb, 5 ast, 4 blk, 2 stl

the big man talent in this league is unbelievable and he's one of the 2 or 3 best.

He will be the best player in the league when he chooses to be. That might be this season based on what he’s done so far.

Really? Is that so? The whole idea of tanking is so you can get better players through the draft so you can... you know.... improve your chances at winning a title. Tanking is 100% designed to improve your chances at winning the title. Do you think there is some other motivation there? Are teams are purposefully losing to inflict psychological damage on their players and piss off their fans?

And don't get me wrong, I'm wholeheartedly opposed to tanking at both the player and team level. I think what the Sixers did and what they put their fans through was despicable. But there is absolutely nothing wrong with a team like Cleveland jettisoning veteran players, especially one on the last year of his contract, to give the younger guys more run so they can improve their skillset and be better set to compete in the future. They aren't winning shit with or without Andre Drummond this year and they were trying to move him to a better/winning situation.

You really didn’t need to double down on it. They aren’t similar.

What’s funny is I’m not opposed to tanking. I’m opposed to holding the players to higher standards than the organizations because, again, the players are the product. They are where the value in the league comes from.

When they sit players that could contribute to winning for load management, which happens all the time, then they are helping those guys at the expense of the team.

That’s a completely similar concept to tanking. Great input. One is designed to improve your chances at winning the title, the other is designed to improve your chances to finish last

How is the organization quitting on these professional NBA players?  Are they paying them less than the NBA min?

They are professionals payed to play basketball. The organization isn’t on the floor executing a tank. They just trade their talent away to try to acquire more talent later. They are also giving these players more action to sell themselves for their next contract. Would these guys rather NOT be playing and watching other teammates win?  I bet they would rather be on the floor than win the game.

You keep acting like the organization is firing all of their professionals and bringing up a full D league team or something to tank. For an example, see the jets. The players don’t care if the organization is trying to lose for draft picks. They play for their own livelihoods and them tanking would only hurt themselves.

When they sit players that could contribute to winning, which happens all the time, then they are screwing those players in an effort to tank.

Im not talking about the guy who gets the call up, I’m talking about the guy whose minutes get cut so they can lose.

When a team tanks they simply put lesser players on the floor. I don’t feel those players are actively trying to lose games. They just aren’t good. That is completely different situation(IMO) than an individual quitting on his teammates and tanking games by himself when the other teammates are trying to win games.

So it’s ok for the organization to quit on the players who are good enough not to tank? How about the fans? The organization just says fuck y’all and the money you spend with us? It just seems like you are holding players to a higher standard than the teams even though the players are the only reason anyone cares to watch.
