I feel like Urban is wrapped up and just waiting until OSU is done for the year (optimist). If not, I think giving another year to Herman makes sense just because there really doesn’t appear to be a clear upgrade. I’d like to say we’d suddenly beat teams like we should but don’t really believe it. We may be fucked.

Be just our luck he'd luck into 10 wins, recruiting would improve marginally, yet still be well below par. But then the administration could say, well both the product on the field and recruiting are improving so we're going to roll with him for another year or two.

    And the cancer grows.

Yes. It may require Surly forcing Belmont’s hand. And perhaps some BMDs. I have no idea how we accomplish this. But I am all in. Enough of the bullshit from our leaders. Tired of football abyss. Something must change. We fans of the Program deserve better.

No, in this case, I think we have to go all out. I think this situation absolutely requires a really futile and stupid gesture be done on somebody's part.

If this team could ever have gotten just 3 guys at OL who could stay healthy and play at an impressive level on the field at the same time in the past 11 years, our history would be completely different.

It all starts in the trenches. Preach, brother!

  4. As to the question, "Well, do you want killer good recruiters or do you want assistant coaches who can develop talent?" Looking at the above list, both Georgia and Alabama have two assistants on the recruiter list and they put plenty of guys in the league, so they've obviously figured out how to do both. But if you force me to choose, I take the rainmakers. Just get the talent in here; we'll figure it out after they get here.

This thread is peak surly, quite literally in every sense of the word.

500pp is enough. Shut this mothefucker down. Or, as they used to say in East Texas, "Call in the dogs and piss on the fire; it's the end of the hunt."

The point is that it just takes one drink and he is back off the wagon. The pressure of being a head coach at UT makes that highly likely!

"I said, 'I like the little things,' the way a glass feels in your hand--a good glass, thick, with a heavy base. I love the sound an ice cube makes when you drop it from just the right height. Too high, and it'll chip when you drop it. Chip the ice, and it'll melt too fast in the scotch . . . Good scotch sits in a charcoal barrel for 12 years. Very good scotch gets smoked for 29 years. Johnnie Walker Blue is 60-year-old scotch."

  8. The foregoing 20-something posts about Traylor illustrate how barren the landscape is. We've pretty much debunked PJ, Franklin, Campbell, Fickel, Peterson, Patterson, and Harsin. We've decided Dabo, Satan, (insert appropriate NFL coach here), and Mullen won't come. Now, we're down to talking about Jeff-Fuckin'-Traylor in realistic terms. (I like him, btw.) Oh, yes, I almost forgot: NSD1 is 9 days away. Nine fucking days. Jesus-God, what's this world coming to?

I would absolutely take Traylor.  If we're going to go this direction, at least I'd like the guy.

I'd take a flyer on Traylor for all the reasons already enumerated. Plus, he'd come cheaper than UM, so fewer BMD's would be needed to fund Herman and staff's buyout and Traylor's & his staff's hire. For better or worse, however, that's not going to happen. Traylor's not nearly shiny enough and we'd run the risk of splitting the BMD's again, neither of which would be good in the long run. What does that leave us with? Dead-Man-Walking Herman for another year while recruiting continues to tank. Yeah, we truly are in the worst-case scenario. We jumped out of the plane, pulled the ripcord, and the Urbanchute didn't open. Alas.

At this point, until CDC comes out and endorsed Herman with support, I’m planning on him being fired.

If nothing is said, CDC can go fuck himself.

I don't get all the CDC hate. From what we know, it looks like he did all anyone could do. ("Hey, UM, here's $60 for 5 years, a blank check for assistants, carte blanche for facilities, with both the administration and the BMC's in lock-step behind you. Whatta' ya say?") Maybe it was health; maybe it was other things. Whatever, you can't just make UM coach here if he doesn't want to. There are some folks on here who are mad and like little bitty chillrens they've got to blame it on somebody.

Wasn’t Nahlin the one who used to do the blatantly false Big Cigar bit 10 years ago?

People just need to accept the fact that the entire $9.95er industry is simply a bunch of conmen.  The ones that aren’t conmen are few and far between, and they’re the guys like Mike Roach who everyone hates and don’t last long because the whole point is people want someone to feed them drama, not “I don’t know” or whatever mundane reality is.

Touts are not in the business of selling winners, they're in the business of selling touts.

Similarly, $9.95ers are not in the business of selling inside information, they're in the business of selling $9.95 subscriptions.

Don't they allow players to immediately transfer if they commit to a school and the coach is immediately let go? Didn't that happen with Hudson?

    Isn't this a one-time free-transfer year because of COVID?

  13. If the latest info that Urban's not coming is true, I'm going to have a hard time believing it was truly a health issue. To me it would appear to be more about other things, like control, like the roster, like not putting his legacy in jeopardy, like not getting his key support personnel lined up, or a combination of any or all the foregoing. I think playing the health card is just a polite way of saying no.

Ahoy ahoy, surly community. Long time lurker. I mostly just made this account so I can show off my beautiful meat as well! Also, come on down to Austin, CUM, and cement your legacy as an all time great coach!
P.S. how the hell do you attach a photo on here?

No one wants to see your penis.
