  1. There is a place called Aldo’s in Dominion. It’s convenient when staying at La Cantera. Good, legit Italian. They make a kick ass lasagna and bucatini carbonara.
  2. I was fortunate that 2016 was a great Bordeaux year so I bought some for my son. Pontet-Canet is a fifth growth, but they will easily reach 21 years. My daughter was born in 2018 and that is supposed to be the champagne vintage of the century. I’m going to buy a case of a high quality producer when it’s released. Those will hold as well.
  3. Strip, wine peppercorn sauce… divine. Don’t mind the stack of Amazon shit at the end of the dining table. LOL
  4. I almost opened this very bottle thinking it was for the group. Good think you stashed it away before I got to it.
  5. Agreed, unfortunately it’s not my call. Also, the slope/rating of courses you play factors in too. Speaking of cheaters; Huge and I won a tournament when we were both 18 indexes. We were actually 18s but we ham-and-egged like sonnofa bitches. Everyone assumed we were cheating sandbaggers.
  6. Anyone played Canyon Springs in SA? I am doing the very foolish act of playing 36 with the 2nd round at the Quarry.
  7. No offense but if you’re shooting a 43 on a nine you are not a 24.6. If you are recording those scores your handicap should plummet.
  8. Do it and don’t look back. My wife flew to Dallas on JSX and it is life changing. Drop off and pick up at the private terminal no messing with TSA.
  9. “First, I cannot be. Second, I do not deign to be. Mouton I am."
  10. Huge pet peeve of mine they serve you in a give-away Grand Mariner glass. It’s similar to getting a nice fancy beer served in a Texans Bud Light pint.
  11. Is a titter considered a store?
  12. Yup, total fluke too, but strange things happen and I'm not complaining.
  13. I’m not sure where this should go, but I can’t imagine Shank wouldn’t enjoy this with a cold bud light. This popcorn is from a place in Dallas and it is spectacular.
  14. Went out and walked nine yesterday. Hit 7 of 7 fairways from the tips and... not one GIR (not even on the par threes). I just could not get close to the hole with my wedges.
  15. Holy shit that's brutal. Unfortunately I can empathize.
  16. Played the La Cantera Resort course last week. It was misting rain for the first four holes, but it dried up a bit after that. The course is fun and pretty wide open (typical resort course). Greens were a bit slow due to the rain, but all-in-all the course was in good shape. I was crushing my driver and only missed two fairways, but putting on a hilly course is not normal for this flat Houston guy. I had 31 puts (6 three putts), but somehow managed a smooth 80. I was pretty happy to drive the green on number 7 (hole with the tee box on top of the cliff that overlooks Fiesta Texas). Hit my drive about 310 down the chute, but three-putted for par. I love/hate this game.
  17. I just got some new clubs from Golf Tec. I liked the experience. PM me and I can get you "free" fitting if you're interested. Otherwise I liked the guys at Golf Galaxy on Richmond, but they didn't show the stat comparisons as well as the Golf Tec guys. I know a bunch of people who use Club Champion, but be ready to bend over and take it right in the wallet.
  18. I’m pretty sure it’s a Honda, but I don’t know which model. Kind of looks like a Passport. 61k miles though so probably a 2017/18.
  19. I’m guessing you went to the Cloak Room. If so, you knew what you were getting into so you really shouldn’t be surprised.
  20. Thanks, I'm playing with my Dad so I think I'll switch to the Resort course.
  21. I'm headed to La Cantera next week. Thoughts on whether to play the Palmer or Resort course?
