  1. Putting aside your's and many of the opposed disdain for the wealthy owners , etc... this will benefit NO ONE? Really? It won't benefit me to enjoy the district? It won't benefit basketball and other event fans? It won't benefit hotels and convention/event planners? It won't benefit business owners in the area? All I hear from the angry SA resident (and the occasional transplant who says nothing nice about SA) is "but the rich". Typical SA inferiority complex and status anxiety. We don't need to be that way. Oh yeah, and "Frost Bank Center" development. I know you don't go inside 410, but that area was always going to be a challenge. To compare that to the already improving area around Hemisphere is disingenuous, and/or ignorant. I'll put my money on the later.
  2. He's feeling emboldened since a few others who don't care about how this would benefit downtown are coming out of the woodwork.
  3. Thanks. I will definitely dive into that and try to learn more. Of the concerns you mentioned, are any of those implying an impact on joe taxpayer? I'm not seeing that, and my issue is that opposition is doing all they can to allow them to think they are footing the bill, or that "we can be using this money for something else", which is furthest from the truth.
  4. Seriously, what questions haven't been answered? Details on the non-binding terms you mentioned? It just seems like a no-brainier to me, and that opposition is really misinformed, and/or naturally oppositional to anything new.
  5. Why are we still talking about this?
  6. Downloading now. Not sure how much time I will have to play until the holidays roll around, but I will try on the weekends. Heading down to Pharr to coach some playoff games tomorrow during the day, but look forward to playing a little Friday night and Saturday night.
  7. Lot of Height/Weight standards issues in this photo. Guy on the left should probably weigh 125 at most. And for god sakes "Police those mustaches!!"
  8. Just go back to SA. Got into Houston a little later then I wanted on Saturday so we checked in to Zaza and relaxed prior to the Laufey concert(really great show! She is very talented). I didn't get to hang by the pool, but it's a cool little setup. While I coached yesterday, the wife and kids got picked up by my nephew for breakfast with cousins, and then just spent the day walking around the park, kicking the soccer ball, etc. Zaza had a shuttle to Rice Village so we went to Rice Box. Kids enjoyed it, and we got way too much food. Walked around a bit and had some desert, then got some much needed rest. Oldest son wanted to go back to the park this morning, so we got a little workout in to start the day. I definitely think we made the right decision to stay in that area. Thanks for the input. It's a fun hotel with lots going on and great people watching. Had an interseting interaction with an older spa lady who was hitting on a young valet. The boys enjoyed the stay as well, but I wouldn't mind going there just with my wife, to spend some time at the pool, spa, bar, etc.
  9. get some conditioner .. sheesh..
  10. Great input. I will stick to HEB $7 Wednesday sushi for the kids! When it's open.
  11. The Rice Box on Morningside? Oh yeah. That looks like something they would enjoy.
  12. Don't really need "kid friendly". The boys are pretty sophisticated when it comes to food : ) I looked at Lucille's but that's another one that closes early on Sunday. I'll look at Gypsy and Late. Thanks again guys!
  13. Thanks again! I don't know Houston, so I didn't realize what the Museum District had to offer. After doing some google map exploring, I decided on that area. Paying less for a room at Hotel Zaza then I would downtown. Doesn't look like a long Uber to Toyota Center. Sunday the family can walk around that whole museum and park area. Boys(10 and 12) and my wife will love the Museum of Natural History, which is opened Sunday. Then we can hang out by the pool when I get back from coaching. Looking forward to a little vacation since this summer was so hectic. Looking at Sunday dinner plans. Thoughts on MF Sushi or Fia's Pizza? Any other recommendations for that area on a Sunday? Grangers looks a little fancy. Lien's Viet Kitchen caught my eye, but they close early on Sunday.
  14. Great feedback. Since I'm leaving the fam for most of Sunday, I want them to have something to do. I like the location since we can walk to the show Saturday night. I just want them to have something to do on Sunday without driving. Discovery Green looks neat, but I don't see anything on the calendar for Sept 21st. Hilton is right there also as is Embassy Suites. Would I better off staying somewhere else and then we just Uber to and from concert? My boys would probably appreciate the Museum of Natural History, and that is opened on Sunday. Hotel ZaZa has some rooms available. Sound like a better plan?
  15. yikes... damn. Thank you both for the input. I'm wondering if a Sunday in late September might be a little more tolerable? Just seems so convenient.
