System went 3-2 yesterday. 8/1/23 MIN/PHI NRFI -130 —— win PIT/DET -110 YRFI —- lose ATL/LAA YRFI -109 —- win SEA/BOS NRFI -125 —- lose SF/ARI NRFI -135 —-lose System is 17-14 entering Wednesday, 8/2/23. He recommended hedging with SD/COL NRFI. I don’t see the team specific NRFI on my book right now so I can’t play that one. Good luck all.

  10. Shit. Got swept yesterday (CLE/CHW NRFI; WAS/NYM YRFI; game 1 LAA YRFI; game 2 LAA/DET YRFI) Back at it again today. Here are the picks for 7/28/23. PHI/PIT NRFI -105 TB/HOU YRFI -115 TEX/SD NRFI -115 CIN/LAD YRFI -140 BOS/SF YRFI
  11. Billy Ward’s NRFI picks 7/26/23 MIN/SEA NRFI -115 SD/PIT YRFI -110 PHI/BAL NRFI +105 DET/LAA YRFI -104 CHW/CHC YRFI -104
  12. I’ve been tailing Billy Ward from Action network on his NRFI/YRFI bets throughout the week. His description is below. I don’t get to them everyday but today his system went 4 - 1. I missed out on the 4-0 opportunity yesterday. The juice can hurt if you hit a bad losing streak but overall it’s been a good strategy. I’ll try and keep track of the system on here and see what shakes out. ————O ———— The Model. The process is relatively simple. First, I start by assuming that the full game (implied) run totals for either team are roughly efficient. As mentioned above, that tends to be the case more often than not. This saves me the trouble of trying to predict the total runs scored in the game — and allows me to focus strictly on the “when” rather than “how many.” Next, I built a database of pitchers performance the first time through the order, relative to their overall stats. Since the latter is presumably baked into the full game total, I wanted to figure out if those runs are more likely to come early or late. Most — but not all — MLB starters do somewhat better early in games, but with some variance in just how much. The model uses xFIP (expected Fielding Independent Pitching) as the ERA predictor of choice. That’s only half of the equation, though, with the offenses making up the other half. To do this, I looked at what percentage of a team’s total runs is produced by the top three batters in the lineup. While a first inning run scored, by definition, needs at least four hitters to come to the plate, one of the first three has to actually score it. The metric of choice here is wRC+, based on the projected lineup for the day from each team. This is a bit of a tradeoff, as lineups (and run totals) can shift throughout the day, especially if significant contributors miss time. However, in my experience the inefficiency of the morning lines more than makes up for the leakage in the model. With that said, exercise caution if, say, Mike Trout is listed as questionable for the night’s game. The Picks With all of the picks below, I’ll include the pick, the best line and the threshold I’d bet it to. These will go up in the morning, so if any major news breaks between publishing and when you read it, be sure to consider that. Infrequently, rather than betting on the traditional YRFI/NRFI, the pick will be on one team or the other specifically to score a run, which as of this writing is only a betting option at DraftKings. Since the model handles each team individually, sometimes one team is projecting for a greater proportion of the “run equity” in the first inning than the betting lines are accounting for. ————O ———— Picks for 7/24/23 MIN/SEA NRFI -120 - win HOU/TEX YRFI -106 - win MIL/CIN YRFI -115 - win TOR/LAD YRFI -129 - win System record: 4 - 0 - 0 Picks for 7/25/23 DET/LAA YRFI +100 - win NYY/NYM YRFI +100 - win CHC/CHW YFRI -108 - lose PIT/SD NRFI -105 - win TOR/LAD YRFI -115 - win System record: 8 - 1 - 0
  13. The swing tip was showing promise at the driving range. I’m looking forward to putting it all together on the course this weekend. Thanks again for the clubs!
  14. How about a 52, a 56, and the 3 wood.
  15. I’m in San Antonio and am happy to help take those off your hands.
  16. You can car camp at Kerrville Schreiner Park and float for a bit. They also have cabins to rent. Nichols Landing is a day trip spot but get there when they open because they only have 20 parking spots and the park fills up quick.
  17. The point of cooking in the tortilla chips is to stretch the meal to feed more people. Abuelita ain’t counting carbs. Pendejete.
  18. Nah. Fuck that. I’ll take a chorizo, bean, and cheese and a papa ranchera with bacon. That’ll cost you $1.99/ taco after 11 am at Taqueria Jalisco Chápala #3.
  19. Now I’m butt naked in a Lamborghini, and these muthafuckers can’t see me.
  20. The seawall off Whitecap has a nice parking lot, restrooms, and showers to rinse off. No parking pass needed since you’re not parking on the beach. It’s a few hundred yards north of the old Holiday Inn and usually isn’t as crowded as north packery channel (JP Luby). Bob Hall pier has nice table, no parking pass required, and a nice little bar and grill on the pier.
  21. Lots of good recommendations here. I’m a fan of Pete’s Tako House, Garcia’s, Regio Cafe, El Milagrito, Taco Haven but I prefer Taqueria Chápala on McCulloch. La Fogata (near the north I-10 & 410 area) has great margaritas and enchiladas. Biga and Battalion are my favorite places downtown. At The Pearl: Il Sogno has great Italian; La Gloria has an interesting variety of Mexican dishes and good margaritas; The Granary has decent BBQ but relatively small portions. Down on Grayson is probably a good place if you have kids (outdoor seating with space). Grayze (on Grayson St. a few blocks east of The Pearl) is solid. Additional things: watch the bats come out from under the I-35 bridge at sunset (grab a drink or two from La Gloria, walk down to the Riverwalk and head south, grab a seat at one of the benches after the boatramp, enjoy*). *Unless the violinist is practicing; we saw about 20 bats compared to the thousands we saw the previous week.
