So their ceiling is 27, theynhave 23 signed and 2 more committed. That would leave 2 spots unless they tell mowery or Ellison to take a hike. How many are left on their board other than shepherd and lee?

Perroni has said in recent week their hard cap is 26, so 3 spots and I would think they have to sign atleast 1 LB and CB leaving 1 spot for the 2 commits + Shep and whomever else they might be able to get.

Interesting how sports talk shows talking about differences in Clemson staff turnover and Bama staff turnover....

something like 15+ assistants have left Bama in last 5yrs... vs.... possibly only 2 at Clemson..

On Cowturd today..... Joel Klatt called the difference in the staffs is kinda like working for "Family" (Clemson), or working for a "Factory" (Bama).

Saban is said to be BRUTAL to work for.....

Clemson only turning over 2 assistant coaches in the last 4 years with the run they’ve been on is incredible.

I mentioned Ealy in the update I provided late last week, but he's almost a certainty to go straight to the minors in baseball. He's "Warrick Dunn" on the football field if he does decide to play CFB. I think he's worth reaching out to, in case he comes back from baseball 5-7 years from now and wants to play CFB.

Now that’s some fucking Mensa level thinking

If we're passing on the likes of Major, then I see the OL class capped at 4. Parr, Lindberg, Garth, and a late bloomer tackle type. With the 2021 class also loaded at OL, maybe we even stop at the first 3.

Best case DL class is probably Dorbah, Collins, Broughton, and either Umanmielen or a late bloomer. Knowing our track record we probably go 2/3 on those first three.

Card looks like he'll be QB1, with no QB2 unless we see both 2018 QBs leave.

    Two RBs for sure.

Two LBs. Jackson could fit in here; he is a take regardless. Perhaps we skimp and take 1 to make room for a receiver, DB, or TE.

DB class is loaded in state (particularly safety), I don't see how we take any fewer than 4. Ringo, Jones, Thompson, then another safety.

Wide receiver is going to be real interesting. Assuming Dixon and Cooper are both takes, we probably have room for two more outside guys after that. No idea who the priorities are there. I'm not confident that the Demas mess will turn out in our favor, and beyond that the only clear target is Omeire.

From your list on the 2019 roster thread on the football board, we have 85 current (2018 non SR. + 2019 signees) players for 2019. Starting with Shepherd if he sticks we have to lose body for body to sign any additional players for the 2019 class.

Of the 85 we currently have on scholarship for 2019 there are 14 seniors, add in 6 pretty obvious spots from 4 year players that could open (Buechele, Porter, Urquidez, Townsend, Boyd, Donovan Duvernay) + 1 of Rising/Thompson +1 possible health (Hudson) that would give us 22 open spots for rest of 2019 + 2020.

If we really do go all the way up to 27 in 2019 and all of the above attrition happens that would start us at 17 for 2020 plus whoever leaves between 2020 for playing time, grades, legal troubles etc

There's no denying that they are bringing in some talent this year. The way their 2019 schedule breaks down, I'm not sure there was theoretically enough talent out there to get them past 9 wins in the regular season, and even hitting 9 is pretty optimistic. They are a threat for impressive win totals in 2020 and 2021, before they have any tough OOC games or SEC-E opponents on the slate again. By 2022, culture rot and the schedule they face will likely get them back down to 2019 levels. Jimbo (may his Gator Bowl wins and previous championship be praised) will already be a folk hero at that point, though, and hard to fire.

@Clemson week 2, Bama and then @Georgia @LSU to end the season, unless Mond takes a huge leap and they fine a couple grad transfers in the front 7 on D, 8 wins is pretty optimistic.

A&M has a ton of dead weight on the roster. Shouldn't be too difficult for them to cull the non-contributors. But it does make it tough for them to bring in grad transfers.

I believe they have to lose 6 more to attrition in addition to the 4 NFL guys and ones who already announced they were leaving. Going to be real tough to add any grad transfer for sure which is awesome.

On the flip side of that, a few of our close wins (Baylor and TTU, as examples) were against young QBs who will be matured and improved next year as well. The real key is shoring up our defense with all the experienced starters we'll be losing.

Tech will be adjusting to new HC and we didn’t have Sam for the Baylor game. Iowa State might be the hardest game on the schedule next year outside of LSU and OU.

Break the Katy Taylor curse Coach Hand.

OL Hayden Conner, Katy Taylor (2021) — "I just sent Coach (Herb) Hand a text! Amazing win and will definitely open some eyes on what Texas is building. Happy for Elijah (Rodriguez) and the o-line and everything they accomplished this year."

OL Bryce Foster, Katy Taylor (2021) — "They dominated upfront. Period. Bevo set the tone."

Getting the feeling more and more that these guys are leaning Texas.

Ah I see. Ty. And yeah unfortunately he said he is signing.

    EJ (and Mike Roach) USC CB's coming in 3 2 1 ....

Not surprised he’s signing on Wednesday since EJ has been telling his rubes he wasn’t, EJ doesn’t know the difference between his ass hole and a hole in the ground.

Lol 9.95ers have been talking about how Texas will have time to work on Bru until January but he's signing Wednesday. We already knew he was an EE so not sure how people have missed that. I had been wondering if he was just enrolling at his school and not be on scholarship or something because I didn't get how it would work if he waited to sign on NSD2.

E: That also means that Kliff's NFL status doesn't matter. That won't happen until at least the end of the NFL season in a couple weeks so Bru will already be locked in. Maybe Jerry will miraculously fire Linehan and money whip Kliff tonight but I think those of us that are Cowboys fans have already accepted there is a negative percentage chance of that happening.

Not that it fucking matter because we aren’t getting him but technically a kid doesn’t have to sign a LOI. The recruit can simply show up at school whenever he is ready to enroll as long as you have an open scholarship.
