Remains to be seen, but the man has a pretty nice resume.

Let's see in a few years with his own players. I think he will be successful but folks need to lower expectations.

The conventional wisdom is that no one will ever be able to match Saban. The most meaningful part of your post is "Let's see..."

    You are absolutely correct.

It's why that hypocrite is in front of congress now crying about NIL. Alabama needs a bogey man to blame now that they lost their competitive advantage.

  4. It would not break my heart for Aranda to lose most of their games due to having no offense at all, and Dave to have an opportunity to step back to his DC role and move to Austin after PK's defense puts the NC trophy in our collection and PK gets his HC job at Colorado or Boise State or wherever.

  6. Slightly weird about the DBack bonanza. Did they just notice that Texas will come into Ann Arbor with a lot of really fast WRs? Or is it tOSU, Oregon, and SC added to the mix too?

Would have not cared if LHN was available on more TV providers, but I certainly won't miss having to scramble to find a way to watch a football game that was on LHN only. Would have been fine with PPV even.

With the continuing rise of re-streamers, it honestly wasn't all that difficult to find the football games. other sports... no streams mostly.

ESPN screwed the pooch on the thing - making LHN access dependent on the "cable" provider paying for a single stream, basically, was incredibly stupid. I don't think I'm alone in feeling like I would have been perfectly happy - well, at least amenable, anyway - to have a choice of paying ESPN directly for access... maybe $5 or $10 a month.

ESPN has clearly missed the boat here, and it strikes me as being very similar to the newspapers clinging tightly to their paradigm of dead trees, semi-exclusivity of information, advertising and subscription. It looks like ESPN is flailing pretty hard right now, eliminating jobs and coverage, so it appears that not many of our hometown heroes will be staying on and becoming SECSECSEC talkers, but perhaps...

The worst thing about our fanbase was the fact that people complained about having our own network

fuck yall, pieces of fucking shit

Nah. I think most of us have been pleased about the fact, but absolutely pissed about the implementation. Between the often bizarre choices of offerings, the less-than-stellar network personnel, and the ridiculously shitty availability, ESPN did an incredibly poor job.

The University should have a super-high quality of network offerings, not just in sports, but across the spectrum of academics. Maybe we will have it some day, but don't hold your breath.

AI will be the death of us all.

I still like Chuck Berry's response to one of his friends losing a musical copyright violation/plagiarism trial - "He shoulda told 'em the truth - Yes, I stole it. But I didn't steal it from him, I stole it from the same guy he stole it from, fella named Bach."

    What's that?

Music AI. Reference appeared in my feed somewhere, name made me curious. It's uhhhh very interesting. Uses tags to drive compositions. Looks like you can give it as much or as little and let it do the rest. I've just barely looked at it,but I have to say it does at least as well as the image AI as seen in the aggy-ai thread in football.

Users get to show their results, and the chicken dinner so far is a duo  called Chicksy Dicks, with a bluegrass version of Don't Think Twice.

I'm gonna fool with it some. Let me know what you think of it - well, if you think of it at all, anyway.

    EDIT: oops... udio dot com

I view it as a panoply of options. No wrong way to spell Thweven.

Zero and Infinity are only the same thing if you're in Collie Station.

Although, be fair, neither of them is a number, so...

Swing on by the Cloak Room sometime. That’s a better venue for political stuff.

I didn't see it as political. They're both actors. Literally, at least as far as many critics seem to think.

Not complicated. He is tough as hell and thought he should be playing a lot more than he was. He showed up fat to spring camp and then bitched about touches. In the spring exit interviews he was told to go be fat and angry somewhere else.

I mean, that’s how I would have said it. Twelve Win Theven may have framed things more nicely.

Okay, so he hasn't got a home yet, apparently.

Which is sad, to me - I also wanted to see him get more touches. Maybe he goes nowhere, has an attitude asjustment, and begs successfully for another chance. Or maybe not.

    EDIT: You've spelt "Phteven" incorrectly.

    ... well, and "Thteven", too.
