Could he have stayed at FAU or no?

Even in 2005 the Kansas and aggy game were nail-biters.
We won comfortably at Okla State but we were down 17 at the half in that one I think.

My dad's friend coached a highly recruited HS basketball player in the 80s. Dean Smith told him and 2 other point guards that whoever committed first was his point guard and he wasn't pursuing the other 2 after the first guy committed.
Gotta assume a similar thing happens with QBs at the top schools. -

I never saw “IT” in Maalik Murphy’s performances at Texas granted it’s a limited sample size.
He threw for 162 yards and a TD in the first quarter against K State.
You didn't see "IT" in that performance?!?- 1

What if Sark already had this conversation with Maalik?
I'm sure they had a frank, positive conversation about the path forward and Maalik's potential options. They seem to like each other a lot and Maalik loves this team and being a Longhorn.
Hopefully this decision works out in everyone's best interest. Win win win.- 2

I dont think that is correct. College football playoff participants have an additional 5 day window in January..
Where do you see that info? Not doubting you. Just everything I’ve heard is the portal closes January 2 and then there’s a 15 day portal in the spring (which is too late for a QB to go)

I don't want to believe the QB2 for a playoff team would quit on the team before the playoffs. All of us who were around in 2009 should know if a backup QB is important for the playoffs. Especially with a starter that has missed games both of his years on campus. I know Sark won't say it publicly because it makes Maalik look bad if he was demoted to QB3, but IMO it looks really bad on him if he was being counted on for the playoffs and quit on the team.
The portal window leaves him no choice. His choice was basically 1) stay for the playoffs and waste another year on the bench at Texas, or 2) leave his team before the playoffs so he has an opportunity to start and play next year
You can’t fault him for making the decision that is best for him. I fault the NCAA for forcing that choice upon him.

there is also the situation on getting into school on time for the spring semester for the transfer
That’s the main problem imo. The academic calendar and the football calendar don’t align now.
This shit is only going to get worse when it’s 12 teams in the playoffs instead of 4 next year

Good kid but not at all an FBS talent. I think the fact that he played so little is really going to help his value.
You’re very wrong imo
He’s a huge talent who made some freshman mistakes in his first 2 starts. If he learns from those mistakes he’ll be an incredible QB (if he can stay healthy)

I'm hearing Chip Brown would suck cock, but nobody will let him.
Literally just use anything other than homophobic shit for this post and it'd be funny

edit- i’m addressing motown-
i don’t know if you watched the game today, but that was a terrible performance by Texas. not only have three other big xii schools already looked way better in the box score against UHB, but the eyeball test was even worse (considerably so) than the underwhelming box score.
I did not. I switched to YouTubeTV so no LHN anymore. Plus I had famliy Xmas stuff all day long. Walked in a parade and everything!
I'm not too concerned how they look against Houston Christian winning by 27. I've said they look like ass so far this season and I'm hoping they can get it together.
But winning by 27 is winning by 27. It's a lot of points to win by. -

Ouch. OK, so that's Louisville, Marquette and Houston Baptian where we shit the bed. Who's next?
We won by 27 instead of the predicted 31 and that’s “shitting the bed?”

The team may be off to a slow start, but at least Derkas in mid season form!

btw, i had a HS coach (black guy) who ended working at mine/my mom’s school for 20 years, a nearly all white school. my mom and he shared an office, and became very very close. nobody at the school would have ever guessed in a million years, but this guy resented white people.
if you want to picture it it was very much like the key and peels obama skit, only not a joke and actually pretty deep. this guy had a deep distrust and distaste for white people that stemmed from his childhood in small town east texas.
It's somehow surprising to you that Black people in the United States of America might have a deep distrust of white people?!?!?!
Breaking news: the Natives are a little wary of the whites too! -

this was during the postseason. it was at the supers. you were there. i knew it was you from a)photos and videos of you on shaggy from some colorado (?) away game, and b)because i was told it was you. it shouldn’t be very hard to remember being there when a bunch of your drunken idiot shaggy buddies tried to jump me. you were there dude. it’s all good now, but yeah, that shit happened.
It sounds like you talked some shit, got called on it in person, backed down, and now you're a poor victim.
I doubt a group of grown men were going to assault you in public and go to jail over Internet beef. -

Evaluating him in December is pointless, anyway. We could go 10-8 in the B12, wind up a 9 seed, but if we win a couple more tournament games it would be another good season.
That sounds like about this team's ceiling to me, unfortunately.
Unless Hunter remembers how to play basketball. -
If the team can develop some chemistry they can maybe be a sweet 16 team
But they need a PG and some offensive plays. Shot selection was absolute dogshit last night

Gotta get Disu back before making a judgment but we look like dogshit so far this year
-
Our offense sucks donkey dick
-
Weaver doing a good job getting their guys to foul him
I'll take being tied at halftime here
Does Marquette play our their games at FiServ Forum or just big ones? -

So you cherry picked stats from just the first 6 games without Beard as opposed to the whole season?
Was there anything going on during that time that may have distracted the team at all? Perhaps their scumbag coach getting arrested for a felony or something like that?
"The team didn't play as well right after their idiot coach got arrested and suspended!" No fucking shit. Of course they didn't.
