  1. Busted out the Spin Wash today and cleaned up a bunch of LPs I picked up on ebay over the summer/fall, nothing earth-shattering but some pretty good deals on some of these...
The Cars lps, it was 4 for $20 (Candy-O not included), when I got the package Candy-O was in there as well, so that was nice.  A lot of these I lost or sold over the years, so some are replacements.  A couple like the Brave Combo and the "All This and World War II" are out of print, so grabbed those.  Slowly going through them all now to see how they turned out audio wise.  Have a great ebay seller that sells "pick any 3 lps for 15.99" (multi-sets count as 1 lp), found some good stuff, that Rod Stewart is NM, was rated VG at best, happy about that.  Got that one, the Stevie Wonder and the Steely Dan all for 15.99, not bad.

Some good ones there. I found a limited edition yellow vinyl copy of the Steely Dan’s Greatest hits at a local antique mall.

  2. So they are here for some wedding so I'm surrounded by his family and friends.
Tucker left the beach and I'm enjoying the drinks and food and snorkelling and all that on this paradise of an island.
My wife said that if I can strike up a conversation and be civil, she blesses it. So that's a mission of mine. Also, I told my parents of the situation (babysitting my son ), and they want me to give him hell. I think I can juggle surly updates, Tucker hate, and Jamaica heaven all at once.
Still trying to get a 'tea' hookup though. I needs me spinach.

Well, if you were in Negril tea would be easy. Not sure about Montego Bay.

2 miles of private beach and this slap dick sits next to me. Line of Americans coming up to fluff their hero. Yuck.
Fyi - My wife is livid I'm on my phone and stressing on whether to do my patriotic duty to give him a 'rum punch'.

Get some of that “tea” the sell there.

  4. I have been expecting TPG to roll to the title all season.  They still might, but I don't care.  Because our kids have done everything they possibly can.  2nd in the district and not even supposed to be here.  But these kids have absolutely decided to love each other and play their hardest for each other and have completely bought in, and it has been a joy to watch.  It has been the kind of transformation you only see in high school sports.
I'll say this -- If we play like we did in the first 34 minutes last night, we will win, and I'm dead serious.

Nothing ever surprises me in TX HS playoffs. That’s why it’s so awesome.

  5. I literally got nauseous at the Wimberley game.  We were ahead 49-12 with 1:30 left in the 3rd.  It was OVER.  Then they run the kickoff back 98 yards and we throw a pick deep in our own territory and it's 49-29 at the quarter.  Everything continued going wrong and we're ahead 49-43 with 7:30 to play.  On 4th down, we throw a TD pass.  Whoops, illegal man downfield (bogus call -- we had a guy maybe one step across the LOS).  So now it's 4th-15 at about their 40, so we go for it again.  ANother TD pass to the same kid.  But...holding.  I was so sure we were going to lose 50-49 at that point that I considered leaving.  But they fumbled pretty immediately (kid looked down to me, but I think the ref knew there would be a riot if they called him down).  Got a TD with 2:30 left to make it 56-43 and drive home safely.

Come gitcher ass whoopin', Pleasant Grove!

Smack talk, huh? Well two can play that game!
I feel somewhat strongly that Pleasant Grove will emerge victorious in the referenced upcoming contest!

  6. Yea even with the score josh needs to work on some shit there. Sloppy win. Both jackson and burris were lazy tonight. Ben played well, but why he was returning punts in the 4th was mind boggling.

I saw him playing DB some in the fourth also. He only completed 8 passes but for 301 yards and 4 TDs.

  7. Txk pleasant grove beat undefeated greenwood midland 48-20 in 4a. Fun to watch.

Greenwood fought like hell. PG lead always felt a bit tenuous till they went up 21 in the 4th. PG made more mistakes than usual.

  8. Any puppy advice?  Besides a military-esc schedule for potty training which we're gearing up for.  This little monkey is going to learn to love soccer fields.  Practices 4 days a week.  Games.  Tournaments.  She'll be going everywhere with us.  I run/ruck a lot during the kids practices, so she'll start that with me immediately.

All of them have different personalities. Be firm, consistent and loving. Never had an issue potty training. The one I had that was the wildest as a puppy ended up the sweetest best behaved adult I’ve ever had.

  9. Our first dog is a cool little terrier mutt.  Plenty neurotic from when she was abandoned, but smart and well behaved.  Now we're on to #2.  Doodles being all the rage, and me being anti-doodle somewhat, we've reached a compromise.
Blue-heeler doodle.  Cadoodle, I think they call them.  Supposedly smart as a whit.  Active.  I might have a new ranch/hiking buddy.  Being vetted by the rescue/adoption place now.  We always had Heelers and Aussies at the ranch as cattle dogs, so I know what we're in for to some extent.
Looks like these two - scruffy little muppets

Love herding dogs. All mine have been Aussies, Heelers, Borders or some kind of mix. Smart dogs can be a chore when they are young but when the get it, they get it.
