without lulling you to sleep with a post of just words.. Ear scouts on youtube has good & current LL videos with the new system. don't watch anything w/ Genie+ they scrapped about a year ago and everything is now LL multipass.
theres a few rides you can buy(this is separate from just buying MPLL): Rise, Guardians, 7Dwarves, Tron and Flight of Passage you can manually select your time. These are going to range from 10-~23ish$ per person to ride.
If youre staying at a WDW resort you can start booking 7 days out from the day you check in. if youre staying off property, you schedule 3 days out so there may be some picked over rides or good times.
Theres tons of research/strategy that goes into this but heres the bones: youll get 3 rides to choose from. 2 from tier 2, and 1 from tier 1. Tier 1 are the more popular rides
https://blogmickey.com/2024/06/list-of-walt-disney-world-lightning-lane-multi-pass-attractions-tiers/ is the list sorted out by park.
when you do your bookings, you can only choose 3 from the first park you start out in..SO if you also have park hopper, you cant pick 1 from MK, 1 from HS and 1 from Epcot. all 3 have to be at the very first park you scan into.
If you rope drop(WDW resort guests get 30 minute early entry over regular park guests every day so theres substantially lower wait times until park opens and it starts to fill in) -Once the park officially opens, you can begin using LLs. the strategy here is to have a burner ride LL right at park open(a ride that isnt popular by any means but offers LL). once you tap into your first LL/Tier 2 ride(probably wont get a tier 1 LL at park open) then you can begin booking other tier 1/popular rides w/ better times. OR if youre park hopping and you want to start getting rides at your next park, you can now book a ride for the next park youre heading to.
theres so much that goes into this. Ive been to WDW the past 5 straight years and Im still learning. educating yourself and strategizing is a lot of fun for the adults pretrip. youll need to know what rides have height requirements, whos scared of what ride etc.
I've never done a linked group LL before, from what I understand any party over 4 people is tougher to find better LL times when you try modifying or doing any booking. My family is me, wife and 2 kids. 4 people have the same advantages as singles, duos, but anything over 4 becomes trickier according to this Ear Scouts guy on youtube.
aaaand I just lulled you to sleep with a wall of words
