    Up 24% today.

Yep.  I’ve been popping in and out a little bit.  I have no desire to watch it all day every day, but after each big jump lately I’ve been getting out and then getting back in at the next days dip.  Got out yesterday at 1136 and back in today at 998.  Other than a few excursions like that I’m keeping this at least through the next earnings release.

You could film yourself on a vhs tape doing something illegal and a court of law wouldn’t be able to find a VHS player for 3 years cause reasons and you could evade arrest. This is the next wave of crime

I hope this doesn’t happen because I don’t need to hear my dad saying, “See?!!  I told you it would come in handy one day!”

Don't' know anything about this primary but I went to Liz Case's webpage from a google search. She reminds you 4 times in 8 paragraphs that she's descended from William Travis. Weird flex.

Her opponent probably laughs at that and claims to only be descended from winners.

  4. I like Erin and Rod together but not enough to listen everyday. I’d usually find the podcast once or twice a week if I’m gonna be in the car for a while but that’s about it.
I’m going to need a new Longhorn podcast for next football season. Have no need for any sports talk until then. I haven’t been excited about any of the others I’ve found so far.

AI scrubbers pull data and post. People, SI and Newsweek all do this. No humans involved.

Yeah, I know, I guess it’s just surprising to me that there’s a market for bullshit like that under the guise of current events.  Not related to the person who posted it here, just that it exists at all.

Jensen Huang, CEO of NVDA, has risen about 5 spots on the Bloomberg Top 100 List in the past 24 hours. Net worth has gone up nearly $10B since he got out of bed this morning.

My huang also rose this morning when  NVDA and SMCI started climbing back up.

When I try to explain this place people’s eyes get that far away look and start to glaze over. Maybe it’s just every time I talk to people in general…

… then they get even more glazy as they stare at the nothingness of death as the lake water begins to saturate them.

This thread is a great addition to my “I can’t explain this place to people” collection

Last thing I need is my Surly existence colliding with my real world.  I once had a guy at work ask if I’d ever taken a look at this place.  Nope.  Nah.  Never heard of it.  Sounds like Reddit or Rivals or something…

  9. I use mine a bunch in the backyard.  Works good, glad I have it.  Mine sits inside a much larger steel fire pit that was too big for the size of fire I want in my yard, but makes a nice place to put the solo stove.  It was worth paying for a few years ago when it was the only product of its kind, but now that there are plenty of knockoffs available I’d have a hard time paying more for the name.

I don't know how any muslim/middle easterner could vote for MAGA.  Do they really think the folks who were trying to ban them from the country, and calling them all terrorists would be more sympathetic to them?  Would the evangelicals sudden abandon their support for Israel?

I suspect that at best they will hold their collective noses and vote Biden...at worst they will just not vote.

That’s too much logic. People vote against their own interests by the millions every cycle.

  11. Most laundrymats offer the service.  3putt is right about the charge.  A full average sized laundry basket is going to be somewhere between 10 and 20 pounds.  So it’s going to cost you $10-$30 per basket depending on how full it is.  I did it for a while and found I hate running errands to drop off and pick up even more than I hate doing laundry.
