Posted this elsewhere but saying it here:

Some of us just sorted a whole bunch of NIL stuff for the 2024 cycle for Texas football on behalf of everyone else. Texas roster management is elite in CFB at this point. Everyone should sleep easy about transfers and people leaving.  Other schools, almost all of them, cannot say what I just said.

Praise be to Sarkisian, Billy Glasscock, Brandon Harris, Texas BMDs, CDC, the TOF and some random, ragtag rapscallions who had the audacity to say “fuck it, this is happening and we are doing this motherfucking thing and damn the consequences”, and Bobby Burton.

Thank you to you and everyone else who I think is involved with TOF. @RGBIII@SydneyCarton@immamacand whoever else is involved on this board in the heavy lifting. The unsung heroes.

Having a group of employees get together to decide who their next boss is going to be is certainly a choice...

My thoughts exactly. It's gonna be who they can get a raise out of easiest, not who will be best for the university. weird decision for sure

He was probably just some average, clueless fan. And just wanted to talk Texas football.

"Get the fuck out of here you son of a bitch! Eat some more fucking ham."

To be honest, him being a ketch lackey seemed likely. However what did him in was his "Tom Herman needed more time," take. Man went -900 rep in a day after that.

Idk that this is true, though. He's coaching the DL at the senior bowl and has a relatively significant social following among players despite coaching at WKU and off-field in Miami. I understand the assumption in the absence of evidence, but I'd guess there's something out there to give better context for the hire

I've seen several media talking heads, not just Texas ones, refer to him as a "top up and coming coach." I don't know how that's quantified but he seems well regarded?

If they buddy him up with an ex-NFL analyst to bring him up as a coach for the first few years, this could be a great hire.

Frankly, the resume isn't that different from Choice at the same point, and uh.....that's worked out.

Counterpoint, USC wanted Choice as well, so that definitely helped his case I'm sure.

That being said I don't feel one way or another on this hire. I hope he works out, but I see no data points to attest that it will. Hope for the best but expecting the worst.

The Pit Master I believe you're thinking was Terry Price, not E-Rob. And since Terry Price is dead, that's a low bar.

It's hard to tell in that pic, but is he smoking a joint, or is that just some trick of the coloring/shrub behind him?

Got my A&M coaches mixed up, that being said I prefer not to joke at the expense of the deceased so I'll take back my comment.

    also thats definitely a shrub

No, man. I know that shit. Someone else went down the rabbit hole and actually identified the guy. It seemed pretty obvious when he wrote the post that he was correct about it. Show us the list of Obloods employees and I'll likely be able to remember which one he is.

Was it Keenan Womack? He's no longer associated with OB as of January 5th based on Twitter. I'm looking through their shit but there's no like.. "roster" of OB employees that I can find.

  8. There is probably zero merit to this, but it was funny all the same. I've never heard of this publication, however TheSpun has Texas A&M named as the 4th most miserable fan base across all of sports.

    Spoiler

    4. Texas A&M football

The Aggies like to act like they're a national championship program - and they've certainly spent like it - but that has not resulted in any legitimate success on a national scale.

Texas A&M gave one of the richest contracts in coaching history to Jimbo Fisher, but that failed miserably, leading to his firing.

Perhaps Mike Elko will change things around.
