Ug I went down to get a mixer for my whiskey after that ou touchdown and missed the return.  I ran up as fast as I could after the crowd erupted, but alas I missed the actual run :/

Anyone else kinda over the Gameday thing? My sister went to (not THE) OSU and we went to Gameday at Bedlam last year and I just didn't feel the excitement that I used to. Maybe I'm just getting old and hate more shit now.

I still want to enjoy life, but now it seems like all I do is drink and think about times when I was happy. "To the good ol days" I'll say to myself, as I look through pictures of when people used to like me, slurring and covered in drool. I imagine what I could have made of myself. I stood on the south lawn in 2009 as Herbstreit picked Texas to beat Texas Tech, all the promise in the world. Now look at me. A slob. A shell of a man who bitches about parties and how I can't enjoy them because I don't like the venue.

Oh well. Hook em, I guess.

Drink with me this weekend and let's fucking stomp these land thieving cucks and then 10 years from now when you're drinking you can look back and say "that day in 2018 when we fucked OU so hard their dead sisters got aroused... that was a good day"

    Hook em.

My niece's bday is at 10am this Sat in Houston.  I guess I'll try to record the game, but you know some asshole will blurt out the score.

Good. That's what you deserve for watching the Texas/OU game on tape delay.

Your niece will have other birthdays.

if you were "making a joke" then why did you go on to defend your stance?  and if you make a joke (which i dont think you were doing) and nobody else gets how hilarious it is then you didn't do it right.

Thanks for contributing to the discussion dick head.

Yes but the SMU hoops rise to getting 5 star recruits started under uncle Larry.

Yes and we already lost scholarships due to shit he was doing.

I was making a joke but thank you for painfully dragging it out.

Maybe because Larry Brown is a proven cheater???

unless you’re being sarcastic and I Drax’d your point.

First of all Larry isn't on the hilltop anymore. Second of all the NCAA loves handing out infractions to SMU. Pretty sure we're tied for the most major NCAA infractions across sports.

I've been a groomsman for 3 fall weddings the last 2 years, all of whom were my roommates at UT. They at least chose uninteresting matchups during a horrible era, I guess. For non-marquee early games and evening weddings it has actually worked out pretty well, so long as beer and a TV are available. I was considerate enough to get married in April. The out of nowhere 40 degree weather in the hill country that day was unexpected, but at least nobody had to secretly watch games on their phone.

Even April has it's landmine weekend

I got married during the football season in Austin.  The wedding was outside and the wife had 2 requests:  she didn't want to sweat her ass off, nor did she want to freeze it off.  That gives you a window of Oct-Nov and Mar-Apr to have somewhat of a guarantee of decent weather.  It can get hot in May, and it can get cold in February.  The Mar-Apr window was eliminated due to us not wanting to wait an extra 5 months.  Dates that were automatically eliminated were TX/OU and Thanksgiving.  ACL and F1 race weekend were eliminated because hotels were crazy expensive.  Then it gets tricky.  The wedding was in the evening, so looking at the schedule a year in advance, you have to try and accurately predict the kickoff time.  LHN complicates this is there are a few contenders every year for the LHN conference game. I made my best guess, and picked a date (there were only 2 to choose from when factoring in venue availability).   Fortunately, I guessed correctly and we got an 11:30 kick.  Most friends/family went to the game and then came to the wedding.

This is how it's done, gents.

If you can't figure out how to schedule around football you're a moron.

If you can't convince your fiance to take football into consideration when scheduling, prob a red flag there.

That's exactly what we need in the locker room Saturday morning. Hell, if none of the current players have it in them just make sure VY is in there..

As for Romance, well..we need to define "completed", does signing up for a course then showing up for day one roll call, then saying "I'm done with this class" count as completed?

That's a Mack Brown completion but probably not a Charlie Strong completion. For a Herman completion I think you at least have to pretend like you're paying attention while reading your playbook.

Give me Mo Bamba over Sweet Caroline or any other classic, played-out, piano bar anthem.

Sweet Caroline fucking sucks. It reminds me of drinking shitty vodka and waking up next to questionable girls.

There is nothing cool about that song unless you're shitfaced and 20 years old and trying to get laid. Even then it sucks.

Mo Bamba needs to be a game-day staple. Any time an up and coming NY rapper titles a song after a Horn - and that song is a banger - we need to adopt it as our own.

that dude was every bit as talented as Reggie Bush...that fucking kickoff return in the shoe was one of the most ridiculous things I've ever seen

Link me. Are you talking about the KC vs. Pitt return?

That game against OSU was also one of the more absurd things in Texas history. 16 carries for 180 yards, 3 TDs - down 21 points in the 4th quarter.

  11. Great quote from Vince I had to dig up (found it on a UNT fan site strangely):

    Quote

They haven't seen a team like us, no. They haven't seen the different guys on our team that's gangster. (Laughs) We've got some guys that are going to talk some trash. We're not just going to let you talk in our face. When I watch them, they do a lot of different things and the people they are playing are just looking like – say something back to them. Guys on our team, when you say something wrong to them, we're going to say something back and we're going to talk trash the whole game. That's just us. It makes the game fun and it's competition but when I see that they are playing a team like Notre Dame, (the Irish) talked back to them guys. That's what I liked about Notre Dame. So, when you go out there and just ignore them because they are USC, they are going to beat you because you are going off their hype. You are going to lose the game. But, if you go out there and play like Fresno and don't care about what their name is and just play, then you've got a very good chance of winning the game.

Obviously he's talking about SC but still applicable to the OU fucks

heh, he's getting extra cruck I miss that dude. But I bet he got more than Charles. I once was sitting in a study room in San Jac and saw Jamaal studying. I was starstruck. Glancing over watching him he was on the same page of the Textbook for about 30 mins....

Well when you're a world class track athlete as well as a potential superstar NFL running back studying takes a bit more of a backseat.

Also - apparently RT is playing for a team called the CenTex Cavalry in the Indoor Championship League or some shit. He was always one of my favorite Horns, just seemed like a guy that couldn't get his shit straight.
