7 was much better than i thought.  I was thinking 10 (but I guess that's the same thing).  The team should be pretty happy with it.

Same here.   I was expecting 10 at the best.

Seldom have I heard so many gushing plaudits for a team that just got run through a meat grinder. Where's Yormark?

That fucker is getting what he deserves.    He’s handed us Football, Volleyball, and now women’s basketball trophies on the way out.    I don’t expect the Men to get one from him though but would love to be very wrong.   Hopefully Baseball is figuring it out and a lot of season to go.   Softball will be tough too because of OuSucks.

Let's see, we also won the last volleyball match and the last women's basketball game against Tech.

But they won the last soccer game. So, they've got that going for them. Which is nice.

That leaves the softball series May 3-5 in Lubbock as the last of the team sports between the two schools.

Does outdoor T&F count too? Tennis?

    Ghost of Grant Teaff

Some of us said during football season the Rig 12 Refs would show their hand during basketball.   Not surprised at all.   I knew we were about to get screwed in that game when the Ref reviewed the play that it appeared a rebound didn’t hit the rim and the shot clock got reset.

We have a baseball series at Lubbock this weekend.   Keep an eye on the Rig 12 Umps in this one.

    You're fucking retarded.

Where was I wrong?   Did you watch any of the baseball in Houston this weekend?    And this has to be the 10th basketball game this season where we farted away a 10 or more point lead.

Seeing them play the MTY Borregos or UANL Tigres would be pretty cool and draw a big crowd.

Fun facts about ONEFA: there’s like 7 or 8 teams called “Borregos Salvajes” because Monterrey Tech uses that mascot for all their campuses in the different cities. Super stupid. But the dominant one is the team at the OG campus in Monterrey.

And today I learned that Arkansas State for some reason has a campus in Querétaro, and they have a football team there also called the Red Wolves.

aggy had a campus in Qatar……  Why can Arkansas State have a campus Queretaro?

1980s was when people first started hearing about anaphylactic reactions on a large scale. Naturally it caused a panic, and parents' knee-jerk response was to stop exposing their young kids to allergens out of worry, which backfired pretty spectacularly. Allergies were not well understood.

Current practice is to introduce kids to allergens at a younger age, instead of giving them an aseptic upbringing.

Makes total sense.   Kind of like the overuse of antibiotics.

  8. Question.

When did peanut allergies become a thing?   I’m getting close to “olds” status (52) to some around here and when I was kid I never heard of anyone  nearly dying from peanuts or even being in the vicinity of peanuts.

That being said there is no excuse for taking advantage of someone who is allergic to them.

And Calallen is down in 4a.  They’re gonna be fine.

I was truly saddened to read about Danaher’s Alzheimer’s. A true TXHSFB legend and I always wanted him to get a ring.  Also, a product of Harlingen High. I remember he applied for the HHS job when Bob Boyd retired, I figured he was just angling for Calallen to up the stakes.

Alzheimer's sucks!  Let's hope we can find a cure for this soon.

Came close in 2016 to getting that ring.  Had Aledo beat in every facet of the game except the scoreboard.   I don't think they've really been smacked around in the state game since then?

He also applied for the PNG job and almost got it back in the early 2000's until Calallen offered him more.

Public Meeting tomorrow to take comment and appoint a search committee.    I've heard some well established names have inquired along with some up and coming assistants at numerous state powers.

We need a new softball stadium. McCombs is old and our new SEC brethren are lapping us on the softball stadium race. OU too.

I was wondering if anything was said about the softball complex.   Compared  to what OU Sux is about to open and a few other venues around the softball universe, we have some catching up to do.

Calallen’s glory days are behind them, me thinks. Miller & Vets Memorial run the show down there now.

Nope.  We have some good ones coming up.  Whomever gets the job is going to be blessed with the talent the next five years.    Especially next years Sophomore class which has been compared to the class that nearly knocked off Aledo in 2016.

Monday: No Big 12 Teams on Future Schedule

By Bobby Burton       51 minutes ago

It should come as little surprise, but for those thinking that Texas may attempt to rekindle a game with Texas Tech, Baylor, or any other Big 12 team soon, I am told don't hold your breath.

According to a high-ranking university source, the riff between Texas and the Big 12 has not ebbed in recent months, even if it is no longer a major topic within the athletic department.

Brett Yormark's public pre-season comments in Lubbock and those of deputy Big 12 commissioner Tim Weiser on radio row at Big 12 media days still echo in the memories of Texas power brokers. Those words and actions have swayed the current University of Texas athletic leadership to no longer genuinely contemplate playing any former Big 12 school in football or basketball. Not for the foreseeable future.

When Texas (and Oklahoma) first accepted the invitation to move into the SEC, Tech attempted to publicly negotiate an agreement with the Horns to continue playing an annual football game. The Red Raiders can now put those plans in the rear-view mirror.

"It's just not going to happen," the source said of any Big 12 teams on the future schedule in football or basketball. "The Big 12 made their bed."

The attitude of others toward Texas apparently plays a role in that decision.

"We're the bad guys," the source said. "We're always the bad guys when all we want is what's best for us. Any one of them would have done the same if they had gotten the invite (to the SEC) that we did."
