  1. OTF was talking more about JJR and maybe Filsaime, if he’s healthy, replacing Taaffe more than DWill this morning. Not sure what’s going on there with DWill.
  2. Ah fuck you’re right, “Derek.” And I knew that. Also wanted to differentiate from Jonah Williams.
  3. What’s going on with Derrick Williams? Thought he was awesome when he played his true freshman year and last year before his injury. I had half expected McDonald at Star some to get Derrick Williams on the field at safety, but with Filsaime getting Star snaps along with Littleton and JJR seeing the field at safety, it’s almost like Derrick Williams is still hurt or considering a transfer. Kinda weird.
  4. That’s fair. If that’s the case then we really need to call into question the position choice at the start of the year. Considering the guys we brought in at WR, the only viable excuse considering 2 of our 6 RBs were returning from very serious injuries on a short timeline is that Terry wanted to start at WR.
  5. I mean we’ve got 3 guys healthy for this weekend, barring any injuries in the next 2 days. If Baxter never comes back, then sure, if there’s an additional injury or we’re blowing out a conference foe.
  6. I highly doubt Terry plays at RB this weekend if his first practices at RB were late last week. Just seems way too soon for a true freshman.
  7. With Terry, how soon can we realistically expect him to get game snaps if his first practices at RB were a practice or two leading up to OU? Not sure he sees the field all that much this year unless we’re in a really bad place at RB injury wise.
  8. And this is why Wisner is good for this team on OZ now that Stroh has his big stiff ass on the bench. He stretches, finds a lane to cut back as OL are riding them and explodes.
  9. What ever makes them feel better about Brooks pancaking R Mason Thomas numerous times.
  10. I agree and when y’all land Kavian Bryant it will be understood by everyone what Tech is doing out in Lubbock. Ojo y’all overpaid heavily for a 5 star project. Have been very impressed so far this year though by the product on the field. As much as folks are rooting for Tech to play Aggy in the playoffs, I’d rather have us play and settle this best front 7 in college football debate 🤘🏻
  11. Counterpoint: Some conferences it’s easier to go through your conference slate with less injuries than others. Between Purdue, NC State, Kentucky, Minnesota, Colorado, UCF, Northwestern, Wisconsin, Cal, and West Virginia, I have a pretty good idea of which of those teams I’d prefer to play Saturday for an easier win and less risk for injuries, and they’re all within 10-15 of SP+/FPI.
  12. Confused by the interchanging of Brooks and Baker on the last few posts. LG Brooks RT Baker
  13. Yesterday about 15 miles from the DIA we had insane fog. Apparently it was just our few mile radius. Must have moved to the airport this morning.
  14. And that’s totally fair. Utah was a good win. I suppose we’ll see how good. I think going from Morton to Hammond definitely threw their d off and the game became a blowout with Hammond steering the ship. I can appreciate the point you’re trying to make regarding Ohio State, with us being their big win and how do you gauge that. Good job navigating that respectfully. Oregon, I don’t know I agree. I think they’re legit, their win over Penn State was a big win based on eye test at the time, and that Penn State’s collapse after that game doesn’t necessarily take away from the team that showed up that day against Oregon with their crowd insanely jacked. Luckily we’re no longer in BCS times so Tech if they take care of bidness can put some respek on their name come playoff time. Just do us a favor and don’t drop the damn game against BYU so we don’t have to consider a pretender like BYU playoff worthy.
  15. Congrats on the weight loss! I had seen some more recent pics of the svelte Surly Jesus on site.
  16. I saw y’all in the Food Court leading cheers but after that beard trim definitely didn’t think you were imma.
  17. Texas Tech looks great to my eye this year, but what’s hardest to discern is how great. You could make a case for Tech not playing any team as good as a top 5 in conference SEC team or top 3 in conference big 10 team all year. I fully expect them to go 13-0 and then look like a completely different team when their opponent has the same talent level.
  18. You could choose to say he was good, you just choose not to. His passing numbers look better yardage wise if Sark doesn’t call so many poorly timed screens. It seemed we called screens when OU was sitting back often and we lost 5. That happened literally 5 times and that isn’t on Arch for making the throw that was called. Look I get the fucking point you’re trying to drive home. He’s not a Heisman candidate, TODAY. But today he made numerous throws that were winning plays, extending drives, even if we didn’t score as much as we wanted in the first half. I mean that Brooks hold was killer early. We probably go up early without it. - The rope deep at our own 6 that saved us from losing a field position battle at 10-6 on 3rd down. Huge play in the game. You bet your ass Venables thought he had us on that play and Arch just shoved it up his ass. - rolling on his left hitting a 3rd down pass with pressure up 13-6. - his run to end the game, to me proving that it was there for him a lot of the day BUT HE WAS PLAYING BANGED UP. - he went 21-27. He made accurate short throws. He put the ball in receivers hands that allowed them to make plays, enough. Sark didn’t call aggressive plays and Arch played within himself.
  19. Sad day in BO&W house because Texas won and Arch didn’t suck too bad and had no turnovers. Hard times driving a point that Arch is shit.
  20. If we’re being honest with ourselves, and I only had my vantage point of the upper deck corner in the shade, Arch made a handful of plays today that were difference makers, and he didn’t turn the ball over. We didn’t necessarily win today because of Arch, but OU lost today because of Mateer, his turnovers and inaccuracy, and OU’s inability to stop the run. I’m not saying Arch played perfect, but if we have this version of Arch the rest of the season, I like our chances in every game. What I don’t understand is the need for folks to defend their takes of Arch being shit. Dude is 1-0 against OU. He played winning football today. Get off his jock, at least this fucking weekend.
  21. Defense better be ready to eat today
  22. Appreciate the positivity (IDL comments aside) and I choose to believe what you’re putting down because I want to have hope. I would just add that numerous times on tape a UF defender would line up over someone and he would be untouched by that OL. That needs to change and should be a simple fix. Hit the damn guy across from you no matter if your assignment is to protect a different gap than the one that DL is trying to attack. Hit him then slide.
  23. Reality is Mateer’s ability doesn’t scare me relative to good starters at QB OU has had in the past decade. His IT factor though is a force; He is a leader no doubt. I think this is more of an indication of how bad Hawkins sucks, and less about Mateer actually getting close to 100%. Let’s fuck him up.
  24. Mateer is back on the menu
  25. I stand corrected. Or maybe that’s exactly what an Ag would say haha. 09 here. Def not high honors, but maybe “high” honors. Either way glad I have my CS degree from UT. 🤘🏻
