  1. Detrumpis is in trouble. Gillum has led almost every single poll. Everyone knows the repubs are terrible when it comes to protecting the environment and that state is currently suffering an environmental crisis. A big part of Florida’s revenue comes from tourism and people aren’t going to want to visit nasty beaches with dead fish / marine wild life. Republicans have controlled the state since the late 90’s and they get ALL the blame. Meanwhile, hurricanes are getting stronger these days due to global warming. You’d have to be a TOTAL idiot to vote repub this year in Florida.

This is why gubernatorial elections are so important:

Even he knows he's 85 and not up again until 2022.

Also, rumor that Senator Kennedy could opt to run for LA Gov in 2019, resigning his seat, which would then have an appointment by Governor John Bel Edwards (D) to serve until 2020.  If the Senate is 50/50 or 51/49 R, Kennedy resigning to be replaced by a Democrat could tip the balance.

He said he will decide by 12/1.  If I'm JBE, I just appoint myself.

Whenever the GOP is losing, they resort to hate, fear, and long shot conspiracy theories.

Grassley needs to just fuck off. The dude was embarrassing in the kavanaugh hearings.

Democrats appear to be doing very well in Iowa this year, probably because of trumps tariffs.

  3. Good news on real clear politics......

the governor map continues to improve for the democrats.

    race ratings changes :

Alaska -  Likely GOP to Leans GOP

South Dakota - leans GOP to tossup ( Wtf?)

    and the big one......

Florida - Tossup to lean democrat

The Dems have only 16 governorships right now, but they could end up with as many as 25 after the election. We could use a lot of the new governorships to our advantage in redistricting and the house map would be a lot more favorable in 4 years.

Just got some mailers from Sessions and agree, Fuck That Guy.  Nothing but paranod Pelosi bullshit.

These guys have no fucking pride.  Their bogeyman is a 110 pound lady space cadet.

Make sure you show up and vote against him, his race is very close. I would if I was in his district. I’m in Fort Worth tho.

  5. I hope the very high turnout in Dallas means Pete Sessions is screwed. Fuck that guy for single handedly stonewalling weed reform in the house. The bills would have a high likelihood of passing and he would use his ability as chairman of the house rules committee to make sure they don’t go to the house floor for a vote. He needs to go.

  6. I’m going to try and vote tomorrow in Fort Worth. Wish me luck.

would appreciate it if anyone had an update on how crowded the polls are out here. Will be voting for every democrat no matter what except for Lupe valdez. Sorry guys she can barely put a coherent sentence together. I can’t support her, but Beto and everyone else hell yeah! I just want to get it over with.

  7. Is it just me or does it seem like the repubs are getting desperate?

lately I’ve heard several huge lies that anyone with a brain wouldn’t believe :

    - As republicans, we will protect pre-existing conditions! ( refer to Obamacare repeal for the truth. Actions speak louder than words)

    - if democrats win the election this year. The economy will tank.

    - If Democrat’s win the house, Maxine Waters will be in charge of your 401K and it will go down faster than you thought possible.

I’m expecting that the Texas GOP will work to shut down early voting after this election. I’m surprised Dannie Goeb isn’t publicly trying to lay the groundwork that early voting is bad.

Straight ticket voting has already been killed as of the 2020 election. I’m not sure they can get away with killing early voting without suffering some kind of backlash. It would piss off a lot of repubs and independents too.

  9. It’s no secret that Americans like divided government. One party rule feels like a dictatorship and I can’t imagine anyone liked the nature in how both the shity Republican “health care plan” if you want to call it that and the tax cut scam were developed. 10 crusty old white dudes in a back room wrote both bills and thrust them into people’s hands and said “vote for it, take it or leave it”.

I wish the Dems would remind people of that, but at least they’re hammering the repubs on their epic failure to write a good healthcare bill and they couldn’t even pass the piece of shit they came up with.

    Much needed good news

I’m assuming it’s good news too.

the conventional wisdom has always been that republicans are zombies who never miss an election.

low turnout = good for repubs

high turnout = bad for repubs.

Think we will see the orange turd go to Florida this week to try and boost up his acolyte?

Hopefully. The less time he's trying to pretend to be president the better

I heard he mainly plays golf, eats McDonald’s, sleeps, or does “executive time” 8-10 hours a day.

i think executive time for trump means he literally watches 5 different political channels at once on 5 different tv’s. Yelling and screaming at them like an orangutan when they say something he doesn’t like.

Keep in mind, this is the same guy who paid a staffer whose ONLY job was to compile newspaper reports that say something positive about the trump administration, put them in a folder, and present them to him at the end of the day. This guy is a 70 year old manchild. He wants to be popular and loved, but it’s never going to happen. I bet his approval rating never gets over 50%.

I think it’s clear that a majority of Americans want to see a check on trump, but the big question is will they vote and vote in the right areas?

trumpkins are a combination of hard right evangelical crazies, bitter retirees who watch tv all day, miserable poor people who hate life / live in trailers, and trolls who like to see democrats upset / lose at the polls. Those people will turn out no matter freaking what. Need normal and sane people to freaking vote this year.

lol My dad is so pissed that Gillum actually has a shot to win.

And, not completely off topic, but I was telling my dad what a pain it’s been for my son to get a replacement license. He was incensed when I told him it’s become a giant pain in the ass since Alabama closed down a large number of the DMV offices.

I told him trying to disenfranchise certain voters can have a negative impact on everyone.

He couldn’t change the topic fast enough.

I’d say more than a chance. Gillum is the clear favorite at this point. Still need people to turn out tho.

Just tuned into the Gillum-Desantis debate and Gillum is wiping the floor with trump's bottom.  Missed the first 30 minutes though.

Very heated debate, but I think Gillum is doing better. Should be interesting to see what most of the pundits think tho.

Here's an interesting question: if you had to pick just one , which would you rather have - the Florida Governor's office or the Florida Senate seat?

The governor race in Florida is the crown jewel this year regardless of circumstances. The Dems haven’t had the governor’s mansion since the 1990’s. Ugly cue ball rick Scott did all he could to prevent Obama from winning Florida in 2012. He put tons of voting machines in republican counties / precincts while he made black people in Miami want in line for 3-4 hours. Trump loves the state of Florida and if Gillum wins he would make trumps life miserable in that state. The Florida govenor race is huge and I really want Gillum to win.
