House should be easier to win then it is, but the GOP keeps screwing the dems hard in so many states.
ohio is pretty much a 12-4 R map, but even the people of that state want a 9-7 or 8-8 map. The Ohio gop legislature keeps ignoring the will of the people.
Wisconsin should be closer. Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Utah are clean Republican sweeps and the dems should probably have 1 seat in those states.
North Carolina and Florida had pretty fair maps, but now both states are extremely rigged. Georgia is way too rigged.
republicans only win in the house because of extreme gerrymandering.

Wishing you and your family well. I’ve had my siblings and parents hijacked by MAGA and it sucks because rational discussions can never take place. My brother is a police officer who says Jan 6 was a peaceful protest and that it was Pelosi’s fault there wasn’t more security. It baffles my mind he thinks this way about people who were clearly abusing police officers just like how your in laws promote a man who advocates for policies that could have killed your wife.
I’m glad your in laws are able to provide excellent child care and I hope they continue to do so without teaching your children backwards logic and/or putting nonsense beliefs in their heads, politics or anything else that is an important life lesson.
Brother is a massive idiot.

My condolences to the smart and decent houstonians who are still without power.
as for the trump voting, MAGA, TEXAS GRID RULES, idiot crowd. Fuck you. How’s your grid doing now? Beryl was a lowly category 1. How would Houston handle a direct hit from a much more severe storm? The thought of you guys doing without power for a lengthy amount of time brings a massive smile to my face.
texas needs to join one of the power grids in the US.

Adding “ getting eaten by sharks” to own the libs to the list.
-
Nothing like dying of heat stroke to own the libs.
add it to the dying of hurricanes and dying of covid. God damn man. Some people will do anything to own the libs such amazing dedication.

I wish this guy would join rush Limbaugh asap. He’s such a worthless waste of space. He brings nothing of value to anything. Please die sir.

I’m glad Stephanie Klick lost. She is responsible for writing that worthless POS compassionate Texans bill from 2015. It’s basically the worst marijuana reform bill ever passed anywhere. It did nothing, but then gave Abbott an opportunity to sign it and grandstand by saying “ this is all I am doing on this topic or will allow on this topic as governor”.
The classic make it look like Texas is doing something, but when you look under the hood, the bill accomplished nothing. In the initial bill, there was supposed to be a 24/7 security guard police officer to “guard” the cannabis oil because it’s “dangerous stuff”. Idiotic out of touch Boomer Texans making shitty laws for the rest of us.

The truly tragic thing is:
For all the millions of idiot-world MAGA-GQP types that attend Trump rallies … there are millions more Rex-like enablers who will excuse, deny, look away, apologize for, and mansplain away the fascism and theocracy of MAGA-GQP-Trump (which is obvious to anyone who knows the actual history of 20th century fascism).
And then take zero responsibility for anything ….. as women flee for their lives to get medical care …. LGBTQIA are shoved back into the shadows … police are cracking heads on liberal protestors …. and the trains are rolling to the Rio Grande and the deportation camps.
They will literally accept no blame. They are "good people" after all.
Lots of them know minimal about history and government. They don’t even follow the news. They vote R every 4 years because their church and their state want them too. By golly it’s all about owning the dems and consequences to their own personal lives be damned. They just want to own the libs ok?

Most of these people don't want to go back to before civil rights or gay marriage. That's bs.
Maybe they just prefer the country how it was in the recent past. Progressives are very open about wanting to change and make drastic change to this country. And they dominate the administrative state.
Maybe they've seen a senile, frail man as President and realize he's not even running things. So who is? No one that's been elected. There is a massive deep state/adminstrative state/bureaucracy that essentially runs public policy and anyone on the Right that pays any attention has to realize they have almost representation in that.
I think the CR crew should really think about that last point. Imagine if the right controlled 90% of the bureaucracy and used it to push around the other side at all levels? Would you be surprised if people became apathetic, or worse, towards that system?
Shit, look how y'all act towards the Supreme Court? And that's only a 6-3 split, not 90-10.
Anyway, my time is almost past. I won’t be able to respond, but be assured that all your arguments are worthless and weak.
Vaya con Dios, CR.
Every single one of those fuckers is thinking 1950 or bust.

We don't have a popular initiative, referendum, or recall in Texas because it's just anarchy if the citizens get to decide issues
It’s extremely backwards and weird because Texas has always been about the individual or it’s all on you. No government help. Don’t ask anyone to support you or feel bad for you. I have mine, fuck you.
from a political perspective, Texas tries to crush the individual by voter suppression, no initiatives/ referendums, extreme gerrymandering, and every decision is made by the state legislature which is definitely not made up of our best and brightest ( far far from it).
They have their 7-9 million voting republican base and they want you to feel discouraged to vote, come in and shut up,accept republican rule for life.

There is a ghost town in the Texas Panhandle named Glenrio, Texas. It's on the old Route 66, right where Texas and New Mexico meet. If you look at this photo, Texas ends and New Mexico begins where the pavement changes color. It's pretty desolate there. But that white building, the only structure? That's the Glenrio smoeke shop in New Mexico. You can legally buy all the marijuana, gummies etc ... that you want right there, within about 150 yards of Texas. Texas is so dumb.
Texas likes owning libtards and stoners.
from arrest to booking, a cop wastes about 3 hours of his time to get a stoner off the streets. Cops don’t mind the easy work because it saves them from actually having to deal with violent and dangerous criminals while also making it look like they’re “ doing their job”.
Our state is run by extremely backwards and stupid ass people.

Because Republicans are always viewed as better on the economy. Interest rates, inflation, cost of everything being higher all play into Trump's tiny hands. Jobs reports and Wall Street do nothing for Main Street when the former are a big issue. It's Jimmy Carter all over again.
I’ve never understood this.
Looking at the only Republican presidents in my lifetime Trump and GWB. Their policies didn’t benefit anyone unless they satisfied the following criteria.
1) top 10% of this country financially ( or better)
2) owned a business
3) male gender ( republicans only acknowledge the existence of 2 of these)
4) white
I’m not sure, but if every single one of these guys were registered to vote would it be 10-15 million? Trump got how many votes last time?
The GOP does a masterful job at convincing folks to vote against their own self interests by distracting them with culture war shit like abortion or “libs will kill you if I lose” propaganda.

I'm from Alabama, but have lived in Georgia much of my life. Long story short, born in Birmingham, but spent almost all my youth in Atlanta. I was a legacy at Alabama and went for school, then immediately back to Atlanta. Basically, of my 44 years, about 7 were in Alabama, the rest here.
I do not know Kemp's mind, and I have not ever met him. I do however, know several people in his orbit in the real estate world (including one that is a good friend of his and was a fraternity brother at UGA). Like many Republicans, this guy just assumes that everyone around him is also a Republican and he is a braggart so he boasts of his conversations because A. He think's he's cool (he's not) B. He thinks it makes him sound plugged in (he isn't). To answer your question, I know him and several people around him were pushing for him to swoop in late for POTUS once the early primary clowns were out and it started to appear that Trump was finished. I did find this plausible, and if there had been intent, I think the court delays stopped that.
The timing on the Senate is interesting given Ossoff's term being due next, which coincides with the next Presidential. He can run for one or the other, what's his ambition level? He may well be the standard bearer for the anti Trump Republicans and an example of success against their stupidity. Regrettably, I don't think he'll just fade away. If I had to put money on it, I'd say Senate, but I wouldn't rule out a POTUS run.
I could be wrong, but isn’t Ossoff’s seat up in 2026 and isn’t that when Kemp is term limited? Ossoff is probably easier for republicans to beat in Georgia than Warnock would be. Although, I doubt republicans ever make the mistake of debating Ossoff again.

I'm not sure Stacey is gonna run it back. Keisha Bottoms (former Atlanta Mayor) and Congresswoman Lucy McBath, are two of the names I've heard floated. McBath is interesting because she represents parts of suburban Atlanta and that could translate well (she changed suburban districts due to gerrymandering). The downside is that McBath means we would lose a good Democratic Congresswoman for an uphill battle (Dems would retain the seat). There are other people I've heard mentioned, but nothing that indicates to me it's anything but chatter.
Make no mistake though, Duncan is a right wing lunatic, but a calculating one. I do have to give him credit, he has been by all accounts forthcoming and publicly honest about the crimes committed by Trump and Co regarding the rico case. However, he is certainly campaigning on this and it's already playing well and will continue to do so in suburban Atlanta.
are you from Georgia or just really tuned into Georgia politics?
I have a question for you, does Kemp plan on running for senate? I hope not.

Did she really say/post that? In this timeline, I have to genuinely ask.
I guess since she stole the makeup off McCain's corpse to wear on the campaign trail and it congealed with her face after all this time...she is done with Sen. McCain and his base?
It’s not real ( recently).
But during her governor race while she was running in probably the most purple state in the country at the time, before starting a rally, she said that all McCain voters or supporters of him need to get the hell out of here.

Announcement from the lake campaign :
John McCain supporters can get the fuck out of Arizona!

In Texas all Reps have to do is mention guns, gays and the border to get votes. Nothing else matters.
Yeah…. Remember when the people that the Texas GOP put in charge of the electric grid almost crashed the damn thing and forced us all into rolling black outs and other people actually lost access to power. Hundreds of people died and still everyone voted R in the next election like nothing happened?
Texas GOP can do anything they want and still win because it’s all about “owning the libs” and muh guns, muh bibles, and owning the gays.

Why does anyone vote repub? Seriously……. All they do when they have power is pass tax cuts for billionaires and try to undo whatever accomplishments democrats have achieved.
