After the emotions at yesterday’s Masters, I picked up Verne Lundquist’s autobiography. Very entertaining especially if you’re a Texana /UT/Cowboys fan.

I think the liv players are on teams with logos and have to wear their team logos during these events.

During droughts I’ve seen them parked every 200’ in a bayou. Hundreds of them.
I sweatergawd this one was waiting for me to break out a pack of hot dogs or something.- 1

Wonder what AT&T, IBM and Mercedes paid for ad rights for the whole tournament?
Re IBM, both Lou Gerstner and Ginny Rometty are members, I wonder if they ever invite Arvind or if he even plays golf.
I just need to get a deal big enough teed up and I can entertain clients there. Did it at the Dell last year. -
Back to reality for us poors.
My dad’s brothers kid was in town for his parents’ 60th anniversary party. Last night at around cake cutting time looked at him and said “pick you up at 5am? I know all your tackle is back home but I got you covered.”
So I did spend the remainder of the evening re-spooling 6 reels and gearing up.
Moon and tide was all wrong, wind howling straight up the ship channel so we retreated to the LA marsh which you know I love dearly.
Got into a pod of 28”-34” reds up in a duck lake and had a ball. Then from 30 feet away this 7 footer chases down my cousin’s cork and eats the hook. I cut the line about 5’ above the first knot.
I’ve been fishing for 48 years and I’ve never encountered a more aggressive gator. He sat right by the Boat for a half hour like my dog begging for scraps. He wouldn’t shoo, was probably a she. Maybe defending her nest? Seriously freaked me out.- 2

they have plenty of rich alumns, but to get that invite takes more than $$$
Maybe the ex CEO of AT&T? The guy who headed up Southwestern Bell?- 1

So far it's Morikawa
He has to be the dark horse favorite. He will either shoot 64 today or flame out after a torrid start. -
Interesting info … sped
Many of my friends houses are owned by LLCs due to the Augusta rule. They then have “corporate retreats” in their own homes. Richer than me so I don’t know all the details.
Except my lifelong friend who actually lives in Augusta, she and her husband use the $100K/ week Masters revenue to fund renovations and expansions. She covered her kids college expenses many years ago and now they just keep redecorating.- 1

Or my daughter’s sorority sisters. Bound and determined not to be that guy.- 1

Bryson playing some damn good golf out here.
That drive on 17 was 50 yards further than the next longest, if I read that graphic correctly. 87 yards left on his 2nd shot. -
How do they get the ruffled Azaleas to bloom at the perfect time each year? The ones in the foreground of the camera shots have to be potted or planted the morning of. My street in SETX was Masters-ready exactly 3 weeks ago.
Those of you who have been IRL, are they all just perfectly bloomed?
Fatrick just keeps packing on that weight. So noticeable now that he is rarely on my usual golf telecasts.- 1

My college roommate played against Phil junior golf through high school, and at night when everyone else was cutting up and trying to get people to buy them cases of beer, Phil was in his hotel room, with a legal pad, replaying every shot he had hit that day, taking notes and strategizing the the next day. Dude was on a whole other mental level.
I played a round with all the Lake Highlands golfers class of ‘90 at Royal Oaks and was in a foursome with Justin Leonard, about a month before he went to UT and he was so focused it was like he was playing alone. IIRC he shot like a 65. He was pleasant enough, but it was understood “all you chuckleheads are going to play juco golf, I’m out to win.”
Whole other level.- 1

So we’re calling it a “salon” now?
I kid, I kid.
If y’all see an amber alert go out in a few minutes, it’s because my wife made it so, but she is protecting a kid from a PCP addled parent. Angel dust!
I just learned about LEO’s ability to use AI to spot license plates, and it is spooky good. -
Traded to a warmer destination?

I was walking through Neimen’s with my UT daughter (no pix) in Houston. She’s not a fashionista in the least. I walked up to a random display of purses and said something like “hey I bet this purse is more than your tuition bill this semester”, and it was.
We don’t own any purse like this in our house to say the least.
Good gal you got there.
My ex was a childhood Neiman Christmas catalog model and it caused me years of pain and distrust.
One time she was driving in her new leased Benz and had me reach into the backseat to fetch her purse. I picked it up and commented “holy shit this leather is soft. Wtf is this skin made of, butter?” she was silent.
Later on I found out it was a $13K authentic Cartier her mom had bought for her. I'd imagine nowadays she is probably begging Hermes to sell her a Birkin.
I had to pee so I went to neimans a month ago and saw Tom Ford was selling ugly 1970s Nike knockoffs for $990. At least the bathroom was free.
My kid is frugal as hell too.
I told my 2nd wife when I got a 6 figure commission check I'd take her to Louis Vuitton and buy her choice of purse.
She got on Facebook marketplace and bought a replica for $100. I can't tell the difference. She is most definitely not extravagant.- 3

You know what would make for great entertainment? Courtroom testimony where witnesses were hooked up to a polygraph, with a big “truth-o-meter” screen on a big flat panel mounted in front of the witness stand.
I'd watch that shit.- 1

for those of you with copper sinks in your houses, do you keep them polished like a bright, new, shiny penny? Or do you let them age?
My new house has a hammered copper 50/50 sink in the kitchen, and a very ornate hammered copper with what can best be described as a vine with leaves pattern in my bathroom.
on days when my wife or housekeeper polishes them with barkeepers Friend, they look really awesome for about one hour.
Then the oxidation begins, and after a day or two, they look dark and splotchy.
i’m assuming that if I just let them go wild and use dish soap and warm water to clean off food residue then eventually it will take on the patina of an old penny.
Is anybody here in the same boat? -
I spent too much time in telecom, but I had an engineer who would put these on all the network gear cabinets where hopefully all the unconnected optical ports were covered.

So are the Toobin books safe for work? His penis didn't make an unexpected appearance into the photo gallery portion, right? I should probably act like a grownup and read his books.

I was having lunch with Terrence McNally’s brother yesterday and he got a text from his BIL Tom Kirdahy “started filming Kiss of the Spider Woman with J-LO this week” so that was super cool. A film adaptation of the musical.

I waltzed into Tumi last week and bought my first new computer backpack in 10 years and felt guilty spending the money.
Then I did a mental tally of my wife’s annual purse spend and felt much better.- 3

After the Toonamint yesterday, I picked up Verne’s autobiography. Very much a Texana focused book. Highly recommend.
