Have seen some folks say their internet through AT&T go pretty high once they cut out the satellite.

It depends on who you're dealing with when you call. When I dropped uVerse, the AT&T rep (who didn''t really offer anything to keep me on uVerse) offered us 100MB fiber for $30/mo for a year, which was what we were paying for much slower uVerse internet under our old bundle.  I said yes.

I'm thinking (from reading this thread and talking to friends, neighbors, and coworkers) that there are two kinds of retention employees at AT&T: former DirecTV people with good customer service skills who know how the game is played and will offer you a good deal (like DTV always did), and AT&T employees who follow the script in front of them and don't give a rip if you cancel.

Apparently this race was the one race they had access to Mercedes during.  Some producers somewhere are out of their heads with giddiness right now.

That is going to be one hell of an episode.  They could make that one 90 minutes, and it'd be enthralling.

What a race; that was tremendous fun.

Requesting "Dumb Question Amnesty" for a noob:  How do teams work out the pecking order among their drivers (or is there even a pecking order)?  I get they want two strong drivers who are both hopefully finishing in the points and scoring constructors' points, but is there one guy in the team who gets "pushed" a  bit more for the title or points?

Unrelated: Renault may be late arriving to Mogyoród.

  4. The scene at the cafe is a masterclass of holding the audience in deadly tension: The absolutely abrupt transition when Goebbels says "Ah, Landa!" Music change.  We remember Landa from the farmhouse, how he dealt with Msr. LaPadite. The whole strudel order.  Then the Nazi bastard offers her a smoke.  [Pause while intently staring at her] "I did have something else I wanted to ask you [pause while intensely staring at her] but for the life of me I cannot remember what it was."  A masterclass of holding the audience in deadly tension.

Cruise just said on Conan... NO CGI. He wants the audience experience of you being in the cockpit. Just noticed it's going to be released in IMAX.

Yeah, I might see it in IMAX, three times in a row.  Loved the original, and the trailer looked great.

  6. Any one mulling it over, just do it.  It's totally worth some slight discomfort to never have to wear a rubber ever again, and wommenz get horny more often when off the pill and enjoy it more (both of which which lead to an increase in getting laid).

Had it done the Friday before conference championship Saturday a few years back.  First one was no big deal.  Second one hurt more; it was as if my other nut said "wtf, you aren't doing that to me." So I went home, iced my nads with a few bags of frozen peas, and enjoyed a full weekend of uninterrupted collegiate and professional football.  Doc prescribed pain meds, which I only needed the first day. There was some slight soreness for a few days (tight briefs helped), but I was back at work Monday.

This may be a minority opinion, but all deli meats taste better when shaved or sliced super thin; brings out more of the subtle flavors. Pastrami might be the exception, since it falls apart when shaved.

  8. Fuck uVerse in the goatass (it’s quasi-related since both are AT&T). My uVerse service (had u300 w/ Sho and TMCs) went from $85 to $158 when the promo period ended. After 30 minutes of haggling, retention services offered me u200 w/o Sho for $113. Thanks, but no. The cord gets cut next Sunday. I figure I’ll add YouTubeTV when football season rolls around, but both the wife and I are both relieved to be done with it. Vast majority of what we (plus the kiddo) watch is Netflix or Prime.

Don't let us sway you on a team. Just try out some EPL matches in August when the season starts and see which team grabs you. It may take a bit but one will eventually click with you. I mean we're so spoiled here with all the matches we get on TV. You can get up early on a Saturday or Sunday and get most of the larger clubs matches in one 6 hour period. Maybe read up on the histories of the clubs you're interested in.

OP, this is the answer.  Start watching matches and one club for whatever reason (results, kit, supporters, style of play, who knows) will choose you.  We aren't "born into" a club like most other football supporters, either by location or family ties. Think of yourself as a free agent.  It may take a week or it may take two seasons, but one you will find one club holds your attention more than others (Arsenal drew me in back in 2000 because I enjoyed their attacking style of play and they had The Iceman Dennis Bergkamp, one of the slickest footballers of the time.) Don't be surprised when you start scheduling your weekends around your club's match.

Now really is a great time to be a football supporter in US.  Back when I got into EPL in 2000, there were only a handful of matches televised on Fox Sports World - a channel that only came with the highest cable tier - each weekend.  Euro 2004 wasn't broadcast without an additional charge.  The FA Cup Final was pay-per-view live otherwise on tape delay a few days later.  Now, we have a bevy of live options. NBC really does a great job with covering the EPL between NBC and NBCSN, and for a few extra bucks a month NBC Sports Gold will let you basically watch nearly every EPL match. The big six clubs (and many other ones, as well) will have local supporters' groups and watching parties at bars.  I saw a guy driving around Plano the other day with a "Klopp6" license plate.

when I bought a car with Sirius and found myself listening to a couple of English guys talk about the EPL.  One was a Chelsea fan who went into hiding after insulting Liverpool too many times (the scousers don't have jobs so they have plenty of spare time on their hands).

World Soccer Daily with Steven and Nick (later Kenny). I used to listen to those guys on my way home from work, too.  IIRC, what got Steven were comments he made stating Liverpool supporters were the cause of the Hillsborough disaster.  Liverpool supporters' groups then organized a boycott of all his sponsors.

    - Arsenal: noted fans include Derka and Osama Bin Laden.

Also, Arsenal are currently owned by Stan Kroenke, the same fucking braindead cocksucking motherfucker who thought it was a good idea to employ Jeff Fischer for nearly  a decade.  Fuck him. Fuck his cocksucking dipshit son.  #KroenkeOut.  Oh, and fuck Jeff Fischer, too.

Make sure you're giving it your full attention. Everything contributes to the story. If you look away to check your phone then you'll miss something relevant to the plot.

Or something that may show up a few episodes, or seasons, later.  Also, let some time pass and watch the series again.  It's even better the second time, and you'll better notice the subtleties.
