  1. Charlie and Desmond at the end of "Through The Looking Glass" from Lost.

Many scenes from The Wire, but Omar in court always stands out. "I got the shotgun;, you got the briefcase.  It's all in The Game, though, right?"

The final court scene of "Chicanery" from Better Call Saul.

"'If that's true, if you really don't know who I am...then maybe your best course is to tread lightly."

Dr. Greene losing the mom in "Love's Labor Lost" from ER season 1.

About a hundred others I can't recall at this moment.

I got one of these few years ago and haven't looked back (not Surly 1%, but you can easily spend $ for a burr grinder).  There's an expensive version (~$50 Hario Skeleton) and one that is exactly the same but about half the price (~$25 Khaw-Fee HG1B).  It does a very good at getting course enough for French Press or fine enough for drip; haven't used it for espresso since my Breville has a built-in grinder.  It takes some practice at manually adjusting grind size at first, but isn't hard thereafter.

Burr grinders generally give you a more uniform grind size, which helps deliver a better cup.  I use this for French Press and pour overs, and IMHO it helps make a better cup than the my old blade grinder, which has since been relegated to grinding spices for chili.

That's fair, buns went quick as shit. Went to grab a beer from the garage and came back to them like that. But the inside was fine, was just that outer edge that was torched

The slightly charred buns, in this judge's humble opinion, added 0.5 to the final score, and the "Texas. Fight." Beer glass did not go unnoticed, either. Nice entry.

Always loved the look on his face when they were in Italy sitting down for a nice meal. “Can I just get some macaroni and gravy?”

"And you thought the Germans were classless pieces of shit."

What the hell is going on in Collin County?

Motherfucking CAD is buttfucking us with barbed wire and chalk.  Imma still protest, cuz 'Merica. Get my comps, take an afternoon off work, and drive to the CAD. The best part of protesting is when the bastards on the appraisal board, supposedly "unbiased citizens,"  ignore your comps and go with whatever the CAD dude says.

PropertyTax.io is a good site for getting comps.  You have to pay for the report ($30 IIRC), but it generates a good list of comps and makes adjustments based on acreage, pool, etc.

  6. @Jack Straw, Imma ask a really stupid question: when you say "saute the onions in olive oil" are you using EVOO or regular olive oil? I've heard EVOO is best saved for cold applications (salads, bread, etc) because it breaks down rapidly when introduced to heat, whereas plain ol' olive oil is best for sauteing.  That dish looks incredible, btw.

Thanks, and I'll hang up and listen.

True.  But....that pole went through the empty child seat.  One could argue Chris had caused enough people to suffer.  Time to go.

Yep, that's what finally pushed Tony over the edge on Chris.  Tony had tried to get him clean for years, both because I think he genuinely loved him as his uncle and because he didn't want Chris "flipping" on him over drug charges.  But seeing that Chris' problem might hurt a kid...that was it.

    Migas topped with burnt steak.

When you cook steaks for your in laws and your mother in law orders her well done...there’s not much that can be done with the leftovers of a burnt hockey puck but this will do.

Making something tasty out of what was in your fridge. Nicely done.

Early on in the marriage, my wife asked me to pick up some steaks on my way home because her folks were coming for dinner.  I get along with both of them, plus any excuse for steak is just fine with me, so I swing by Costco and pick up a pack of nicely marbled ribeyes.  As I'm getting ready to throw them on the grill, my MIL proceeds to request that I cook her steak "with no pink in the middle or blood."  A nicely marbled Prime ribeye. I looked at my wife, who said nothing, and then my FIL who silently shook his head in a sort of "yeah, I know" kind of way.   The MIL was served sirloin from that day forward.

Mac n' cheese, chicken nuggs, Fritos? Did I get it right? We will need to know the hot sauce of application before rendering a ruling

Tia Rosa tortilla (toasted in a skillet, of course) Trader Joe’s Elote Corn Chips*, Trader Joe’s Hatch Green Chile Mac & Chee, Trader Joe’s Breaded Chicken Tenderloins, shredded chee, diced onion, Cholula, Tuong OT Sriracha. Paired with a cold Coke Zero (not pictured, and I realize points will be deducted for not being an adult carbonated canned beverage).

*These are the shizzle. Highly recommended.

  10. "For whatever reason, certain incidents have expired lately that, in addition to being dangerous, could have a negative impact on our respective bottom lines.  If there's anything my father thought me, it's this: a pint of blood...costs more than a gallon of gold."
