  1. So what does that mean about the WR spots since Wingo is so good. Bond and golden get spots. Would it be wingo bond golden cook? Moore seems to be good too. I wonder if someone transfers.
We're going to lose one or more receivers, it would take a helluva recruitment job to keep that room intact for '24 season. Running back room is going to be hard to keep as well.
  2. There's a quip about the rocket falling over on the launch pad... But I'll stop before someone has to tell me it's too soon.
I can see a hungover aggy typing in their own address to satellite controls just for laughs, and then spilling their coffee on the arm/launch controls.
  3. JFC I thought you people meant the USC Colosseum they defaced the real one? I am fucking angry now why is this shitstain of a fanbase not nuked from orbit?
Don't worry, aggy is involved in the space program now, I'm sure eventually they'll do it to themselves.
  4. Apparently you're not allowed to go to a bar if you're in your 40's according to Surly.

    I miss Shaggy.
A shot bar? That's only if you're celebrating something..birthday, big business deal etc, but even then there are better places than a shithole that attracts frat boys that just got their first legit ID showing 21...and a few with ID's less than legit.
  5. He should stay home and get drunk in his garage like a normal dude.
If he wants to socialize then send the kids to Grandma's house and invite some people to the casa to hang out and drink. I get that someone like Vince gets a dopamine hit by walking around in public and being recognized. He can still do that, just keep the drinking part confined to his own property. When the evening is done, kick everyone out and stumble to the bedroom. Win for all.
  6. Oh there is no doubt.  Wherever you are in the world, if you see aggy flair, it is absolutely 100% an aggy.  Conversely, if you see a NY Yankees hat, it is 99% not a Yankees fan.  Its the Coca Cola of baseball hats.
Yeah, in Europe you'll see Yankees swag for sure, and Chicago Cubs..especially in Paris for whatever reason. aggy gear in Europe will be 99.9% aggy tourists for sure. The .1% are international aggy students who went to fish camp.
  7. You remember a few years ago something showed up on the internet where some ignorant TAMU fan had scratched graffiti into the Colosseum or some other venerated site?    Like they expect people who visit from around the world to recognize their symbol and say "yes, it is now complete, Texas A & M has been here."
That's just the sort of idiocy I expect from aggy. Very on brand.

  8. Went to Isla Mujeres with some good friends who happen to be aggy.  While there the husband made a comment to me about how Longhorns are always wearing UT stuff.  I didn't bring anything Longhorn related on the trip.  Meanwhile, he wore aggy flair every single day.
The worst is when they do it in Europe. And no, they aren't random young Europeans who like the colors and logo. I do see a lot of young Europeans wearing Harvard, Stanford, Princeton, Yale, Columbia etc...and then when it comes to non-ivies you get ND and I've even seen a few Longhorn hoodies and tshirts on what I don't think were American tourists.
  9. It's not that complicated.
Lacey is committed, so it's fair to say the staff like him a lot compared with other options. He's also a QB prospect from a region where talent rarely leaves. If you honestly think he could be your QB of the future when given the chance to take his commitment, you take it, and with it, the opportunity to influence his visits.
Russell is an ascending, in-state QB prospect with a prototype build and big arm. While he's very familiar to Sark and Milwee (from recruiting Simmons and Dakorien Moore), we already chose Lacey over Russell when the staff offered Lacey.
With that context, choosing to recruit Russell now shows they've watched his development and can more confidently project his growth into something they want to work with. He's not nearly as polished of a thrower, but Russell's ceiling is significantly higher than Lacey's, even in Sark's offense. Also, Dakorien Moore.
Imo, we sign both. If anything, the portal gives more reason to join a 2 QB class, not less. Out of high school, you can choose where you think gives you the best opportunity to be developed. When you fail to win the starting job, you find an ideal offense with an opening at QB. Literally the best of both worlds.
Even if we don't sign both, what do we lose if Lacey bounces? A generational prospect? No. The chance to land Ryan Williams? No. We lose a good QB prospect, but that's it. Choosing not to recruit Russell creates more downside risk than losing Lacey. Imagine impacting your relationships at Duncanville, Dakorien Moore, THSCA, etc over trying to keep KJ Lacey committed. Malpractice.

I'm not plugged into the coaching staff or anything, but it seems to me pushing for Lacey was originally meant to be a two for one thing...get a pretty good QB along with one of the best WR prospects in the nation, and possibly start a little momentum in grabbing a few Alabama prospects in the future. As it is now, not sure getting Lacey by himself is enough..and certainly hasn't done us any favors with Ryan Williams.

  10. Sounds familiar.

Rhule will be a good coach. He’s the type of guy that would struggle at a current blue blood taming 5 star players, but can take a bunch of 3s and make it work.
The delusional corn fanbase won't tolerate too many recruiting classes filled with diamonds in the rough.
  11. Plus, Maseratis look like Buicks.  Or Buicks look like Maseratis.  Whatever.

To be fair, the bottom car will last a lot longer while also being far less money upfront. Maserati is nothing more than a Fiat borrowing some Ferrari bits...and slapped together with all the same care and attention to detail as your average Burger King chef. (I had a friend who bought one brand new a few years back so got some good second hand experience)
    WTH?
Johnny 8 ball with no aggy flair?

  12. Sweat and Murphy were a fucking huge part of our success last year.  Huge.  Swapping them out with Collins and some dude from Arizona is going to hurt a lot this year so you better hope something good is coming in the portal.
Not saying they weren't, just saying coming into last seasons we had questions about both being up to the task. Of course that was answered very early on in a positive way, hope the same happens this coming season. I will give you that both Sweat and Murphy at least flashed at times in the '22 season. Outside of maybe Collins, not sure you can really say the same about our current crop of DT's. Lots of questions to be answered for sure.
  13. There's a lot to be optimistic about with the roster Sark & Co have put together. Question is, how soon can they put it all together and gel?
It's a contract year for Alfred Collins, so pretty sure he will be motivated along with another year of building his body. Same can be said for Vernon Broughton, but I'm less certain of his motivation or abilities. Hoping he pleasantly surprises. He was a little better last season. Murphy and Sweat are big shoes to fill and neither of Collins nor Broughton really gap stuffers or pocket pressers the way they were. But EDGE should take a step forward this season in both talent and depth. And there is at least a decent rotation of DTs as is plus whatever additions may yet be found in the portal. Talent is not a question at LB but play recognition is.
The embarrassment of riches at both WR and RB is ridiculous. Ewers just needs to develop rapport with the receivers.
I could be wrong, but to me it seems like this Longhorn team has a lot in common with MB's early 2k's squads when it comes to talent, maybe even better on paper.

I'm beyond excited to see us play the defending champs early on, and see what this team can do with an SEC schedule, but still need to see them play an actual game since we lost a lot on both sides of the ball. If these guys can hang with Georgia or even beat them...sky is the limit for this team, maybe stratosphere.

  14. He didn't, I don't want to fact check the whole list, but MBs career earnings are over 20M alone. And MB is still in the league and just signed another contract.
So LSU's PR dept (or whoever did that thing) screwed themselves. That calls into question all the numbers imo. Guess it really doesn't matter unless recruits start fact checking, which I don't imagine to be a huge issue.
