  1. Does the Financial Times have an anti-Astros bias?
  2. I'm questioning the validity of the officers' complaints in the first place. It gave the FOP an opportunity to bring out the old playbook, drama queen for a few minutes and reinforce the war on police narrative.
  3. So the NYPD is lying about no criminality having occurred after their officers "passed out?"
  4. You deliberately use the word weapon instead of taser to conflate it with a gun and to imply the cop was in imminent danger of deadly force from Rayshard Brooks. It wasn't, the cop knew it, he's a coward.
  5. Well this is going nowhere. Interesting language you chose ("violent, brandishing a weapon"). You're dug in and not of a heart and mind to be convinced of anything you don't already think so I won't argue the point any further. If those set of circumstances put that cop in fear for his life, then he's a coward. But that's been the problem for a number of years. Police training, despite being referred to as "warrior" training, has ingrained in every cop's mindset that everything/everyone is a threat and to shoot as a first resort. Cowards with guns.
  6. Maybe chase the drunk, unarmed guy who is running away from you? Perhaps that should be the first resort rather than shooting him in the back.
  7. Which one of those is the capitol offense?
  8. Well yeah. That whole racist, murderous cop thing has priority right now. Maybe next month you can start the conversation on gender equality.
  9. Statewide I'm sure you are correct. I wouldn't be that confident within Minneapolis based on the culture of that police force and its relationship with the citizens. Reread Kroll's letter to his union members and tell me what your strategy would be to reform MPD absent drastic measures.
  10. I wonder if Bob Kroll feels like talking to the press now.
  11. I'd love for the Sports Duck to be doing morning tickers again.
  12. The absence of video in hundreds of millions of interactions doesn't prove that all of those interactions are above board. Without the video, the Buffalo incident would have gone in the innocuous category. How do I know? The Buffalo PD told me so.
  13. But not as bad as the looters who defiled Goyards.
  14. Eventually the protests will die down but I'd say the protesters have "won" in that 1) Chauvin was arrested/charged, 2) the other three cops were charged (although taking 9 fucking days is shameful), 3) enhanced charges for Chauvin, 4) Louisville is severely curtailing no-knock warrants, and 5) many elected officials have found religion. It's up to the protesters to follow though in state/local elections and to hold them accountable.
  15. Well there was also the issue that the claims made in the tweet were so preposterous that it should have merited some google/news confirmation.
  16. Yeah my comment was responding to multiple posts up thread. She's got some really good ideas for what's "in the best interest of the protest." And coincidentally all of them align with her own self interest (win/win). Maybe if they can get organized within the boundaries of the curfew, they can put together a slide deck of best practices for the next round of spontaneous, once-in-a-generation civic unrest 30 years from now.
  17. Anything else the protesters can do to make this more convenient for you?
  18. Courageous stance. Perhaps if there had been any change the last 5-6 times stuff like this was caught on video the rioting could have been avoided.
  19. So no one gets a second chance unless everyone gets a commensurate opportunity?
  20. My sincere apologies if any rednecks reading this were offended.
  21. Don't you think George E. Barnhill, redneck DA Esq. would have publicized that in his letter of exoneration for the Cletii?
  22. You said it yourself he's the ultimate empty suit. He's got nothing of substance to say and I appreciate that self awareness and that he doesn't love to bloviate in front of a camera like Rawlings while deferring leadership of both crises during his tenure to Jenkins and Brown.
