  1. 247: "Every source we talked to felt like Texas is in a better spot than last year at the QB position. Whether the sources liked Hudson Card or Quinn Ewers more on the day, both QBs looked poised and were using their NFL caliber tools to spray passes horizontally and vertically across every level of the field. One source I talked to felt that because it was so even at this point Ewers would eventually pull ahead and win the job as he continues to gain familiarity with Sark's system." IT: "Neither of the QB’s excited him. They need someone to step up. He felt Quinn Ewers struggled and Hudson Card looked better than a year ago but still a long way to go at the position. He says Card is better than Ewers right now." Welcome to offseason practice reports! lol
  2. Card being more comfortable and having a playbook advantage should hardly be a surprise. Ewers is basically a true freshman considering it’s a new system for him and he prob didn’t get many reps at tOSU (tbh he might have developed more as a senior in HS) Card having a more lively arm is a hot take though
  3. I know you’re joking but the head coach is in the front seat
  4. Willing to bet he did both but one isn’t gonna get reported. Dell match play is a day event. Round up goes all night. If you’re a golf fan, Dell Match Play is awesome. All the best golfers in the world (it’s a big tourney), great weather, beautiful scenery. You don’t need to be drunk to enjoy hanging out in a setting like that. When I first read Arch was coming on Thursday, I fully expected Match Play to be on his agenda and that’s definitely a good thing for us (you don’t have cool shit like that in Athens or Tuscaloosa).
  5. Maybe the ‘22 signees in town? Idk
  6. Arch reportedly visiting Bama next weekend
  7. Idk about bigger than Ewers (assuming Ewers plays well), but agree with the rest and that he’d be the second biggest transfer. Wish we got two transfer edges.
  8. If Todd Monken is what's drawing Arch to UGA, they should be out. That guy is gonna be a HC or in the NFL by the time Arch shows up.
  9. And Dell Match Play. Isn't Arch like a scratch golfer or something?
  10. Clearly the contract is technically gonna be legal. Otherwise they wouldn’t be advertising it and eventually submitting it to the NCAA. It’s def a loophole and against the spirit of NIL, but what a shocker that people found loopholes. Recruiting CA is now just free agency, plain and simple. Im curious how the third-party NIL ownership works though. Does the kid have a say in what it gets used for? Does he get any continued royalty on those deals? If he leaves TN, would they keep getting deals for him to recoup their investment, or would they just not let him do any more deals as punishment?
  11. What does “run interference” mean?
  12. I think he would still be owed the 8. He just wouldn’t be able to sign any other deals bc the collective owns his rights. In other words, the TN collective ain’t gonna let him do a deal with a dealership for a free car if he goes to Bama. On the other hand, if he stays at TN, he’ll get the $8mm AND probably some (or all) of the other NIL deals he does.
  13. Wow that’s insane. Can’t believe high school kids are allowed to sell their NIL exclusivity rights to someone like that. Even college kids. What a joke. With that allowed, how long until the sleazy sharks start coming in buying kids’ rights for chump change to make money off the upside
  14. What keeps a kid from taking a big upfront payment and then going to a different school anyway? I mean obviously a lot of kids will have the honesty to honor their word, but someone’s gonna get burned at some point.
  15. Rod Wright hired as the DL coach at Miami Also I missed it before but Frank Okam is the new DL coach for the Raiders Good for those guys and good for us to have on the radar if Bo ever leaves
  16. In some situations, coaches dislike bubbles bc the soft structure limits where you can put cameras for different angles and analytics on practice. With a fixed structure, you can put that stuff anywhere and everywhere. idk if our bubble has that issue but it might
  17. Aggy mods also thought McKinley Jackson was gone. Instead he got a 2-game slap on the wrist. We shall see.
  18. He then posted "not transferring" with the facepalm emoji
  19. SIAP but just saw on 247 that his dad played DE at UT. This does not seem like a recruitment we should lose..

Yeah I get the reason for separating football and agree that it's a good idea for the reasons you outlined. Just Seems like there could've been a middle ground where they still split the donations but set individual prices for bball based on your length of support or something, instead of just saying "here's the price for everyone, deal with it." Like give x% discount at whichever ticket level you choose based on your years of bball ticketholding. Here the other annoying part - someone who jumped on the football train 5 years ago might have already built up more "loyalty points" than a 30 year bball ticket holder bc it's all based on money. Up until now, the bball guy has held onto their tickets bc of actual loyalty. Now, that football guy can just throw in an extra $2300 (still chump change for a lot of those dudes) and immediately leapfrog the bball guy. 3/4ths students is also a surprising move. Great for the atmosphere but very un-UT passing up all that money

Not sure but I think there's an upper deck that isn't shown on that map, so those are all lower level. But either way agree with your point - $2300 for top of the lower level isn't gonna hold up

So now that they're splitting the football and bball donations, does that mean you still have to donate the same amount to keep your football tickets but have to add a new donation to get bball tickets? Or will the required football donation be reduced to account for splitting out bball? Assuming the former, sucks for those of us who have loyally supported/attended both for decades and made a donation intended for both.

  24. Are you sure they're separating bball and football? I thought they were just re-prioritizing based on over priority points. Which means a large football donor would now jump over long-time diehard bball supporters who have held onto their seats for 20 years without ever having to shell out big bucks
