  1. I think there's a middle ground. Kids should commit to the school but they also shouldn't be totally tied down. Like maybe you have 2 free transfer windows - after year 2 and after you graduate, that's it. Or sit out a year anytime. With some exceptions for special situations like there used to be. Stepping aside from coaching changes, the annual free agency with NIL is an absolute shitstorm in the making.
  2. Haha yeah seriously. He's mad at UT not offering so he's going to go join the Director of Recruiting at the time elsewhere lol
  3. No it's not. But having free agency for everyone every year, with NIL and all the underground shit that happens, is not a recipe for a good sport. At least the NFL has contracts, salary cap, etc to govern all that stuff. Maybe if college players want to be paid like pros (which I'm in favor of), there needs to be some actual enforceable rules like any other pro sport. Some kind of balance. Tricky to solve.
  4. Someone needs to send our staff and commits a copy of "The boy who cried wolf" I don't believe any of these tweets anymore
  5. I love seeing it happen to OU but what's happening there is an indictment on the current state of college football. A coach leaving for another job resulting in a completely decimated program is not a good system. With that said, I hope we are prepared to go all out for Mims if he portals. And if Caleb Williams doesn't automatically go to USC we better have an absolutely monster NIL deal ready to throw at him.
  6. Maybe so but it doesn't sounds like PK is going anywhere so we gotta make lemonade by hiring someone who can cover for DC deficiencies as much as possible.
  7. What is Donte Williams' reputation as a coach? Know he's a plus recruiter but no idea how he's viewed on the coaching side. If he's good at coaching, he would be a really interesting option and he was a GA for Sark at UW. We need someone who can do more than just recruit in that role though.
  8. This might be my favorite one yet. Young, stud recruit, stud production, position of need
  9. I used "might" because I don't really know either way. But also I'm not as down on our WRs as most. We don't have any star talents outside of X but Jwhitt was pretty good, Marcus/Dixon were ok. The drops were obviously bad but WRs were less of an issue than OL and QB on offense. Either way, I'm not defending the guy. Up above I already said he should've been fired by now.
  10. On the flip side, Coleman has had more to sell the last two years than probably any other position coach at UT, yet here he is for the second year in a row with maybe the worst haul of any position (obviously excluding Worthy). He might be a solid coach but insane level of recruiting incompetence.
  11. Jimbo has had 4 WR drafted since he got to FSU as OC 14 years ago. Only 1 1st rounder, the rest all day 3. It's a laughably bad track record considering the amount of elite WR recruits he's signed. For full transparency though, he did have a few first rounders as OC at LSU way back when. Regardless of that, it's basically impossible to argue that his offense is good for a WR's NFL future.
  12. I still wonder if Red could be a Safety or even LB recruit for us. At 5'10, 210 lbs, doesn't really profile as a Sark WR.
  13. Is this in reference to the good guys or A&M? Seems like you've had some confidence on us closing guys at signing day but idk. Also, if us, is there a good reason our staff is waiting until near signing day to make their moves? I obviously don't understand the game but it seems like waiting allows other schools to lock people down in the meantime like Evan
  14. Yeah we'll easily get to 33. Numbers are gonna be tight. We already have 20 HS commits (assuming the LS and K count as schollys) and are still looking for WRs, 2-3 more OLs, a QB, DBs and LBs. 25 spots could get tight. We could easily use 15 transfers so 8 is going to be nothing. The only question is how you allocate. I would say 1 QB, 1 WR, 2 OL, 2 EDGE, 1 LB, 1 S. Obviously that's subject to other variables like who we end up with in the HS class, the quality of who we can actually get at each position, and who we lose to the portal/draft.
  15. Idk why the hell Coleman is still on staff right now. What would firing him before NSD cost us? Unless Brenen has some insanely strong attachment to him (doubtful), we've already lost out on every one of our other top WR prospects. Might as well hire someone with a chance of pulling in a last-minute flip.
  16. It's amazing how short-sighted some of these kids can be. Stewart is going to cost himself millions in NIL and NFL draft money just to take a $250k bag. Hope any of you that follow him on social media go unfollow pronto.
  17. We can't hire Mickey Joseph if we fire Terry..
  18. I was actually thinking the same thing. Our coach makes less than $6mm per year while schools like Michigan State are shelling out $9.5mm for a 3rd year head coach. USC likely just dropped $12+mm, etc. We're the opposite of money-whipping right now.
  19. This. Save that spot for a better transfer. At 210 lbs though, are we sure this guy is actually a future WR? Might go on defense.
  20. Yall crazy if you think Kelly would pull in ND type recruiting classes at LSU. LSU recruits itself when it’s not imploding.
  21. Well shit now you have me worried about Rhule to OU. That would be very bad.
