You the sky is falling people about the Big 12 do realize in bowl matchups vs the SEC we beat them last year.......   They also have 6 more teams.......

I understand not counting Kansas, but who else are you skipping?  Or are you counting Alabama twice?

Sucks for Brewer, as others said it didn't even look like his head hit the ground particularly hard.

That defender also made contact before his foot landed out of bounds.  The flag was generous toward Baylor.

Are you concussed?  You sure have trouble with your vision.  The first defender made contact.  The second one is the one the flag was on.

Our league lacks talent. We have few teams that can get up to play Texas and OU but their lack of talent becomes apparent when they are matched up against a top tier non conference team.

That is true of pretty much every league except the SEC.  Every league has a couple of teams with elite talent.  SEC has a half dozen.

That is what I was thinking. I graduated in 1976 and I knew it was 4x440 yard dash at that time.

Missed this at the time.  Just now saw that he had passed.

    RIP Lam.

Really nice guy.  Lived in Jester my freshman year and saw him around a lot.  We didn't really talk but he would usually say hi.

My senior year of HS, I knew the top 3 guys in the 440 in the 4A state meet (then the highest level).  Lampassas was 3A.  He ran a lot faster than they did.

Wow, so VT got screwed on that and the interception?  Was it Big 12 refs?

Interception was as flagrant PI as it gets.  Receiver got grabbed by the shoulders and pushed down and sat on.  Announcer was a total idiot claiming it wasn't PI.  Guy competes with Musberger for the biggest idiot in the announcer's booth.

See, here's the thing I have about Baylor and the rape scandal:

If Baylor had taken tangible steps to change the culture that led up to the rape scandal in the first place, I could accept that.  Sure, mistakes happen.  It's how you grow, learn, and change for the better that ultimately matters in the end.

But that didn't happen.  Instead, the fanbase blamed the victims, and the administration terminated the head coach and the athletic director, mainly as CYA moves to defend against the civil suits.  I don't see any reason not to believe that another rape scandal will happen there at some point down the road, probably sooner rather than later.  And because of that, I still have a bad taste in my mouth when it comes to Baylor.

    So, pretty much...fuck 'em.

Furthermore, nothing would make me happier than for Texas to claim the only Big XII bowl win this season, especially for recruiting purposes.

I don't particularly like having to root for Georgia in this game, but I will hold my nose and say GO DAWGS.

Now with that out of the way, I see that Georgia got thrashed by LSU, and barely scraped by several other teams with a pulse, including aggy.  They also somehow inexplicably managed to lose to Muschamp's Gamecocks this season.  I haven't really followed Georgia enough to know what the underlying issues with them are, but they are going to have to pick it up if they plan on defeating Baylor in the Sugar Bowl.

Fromm locks on his receivers, can't throw real long and will make some bad decisions.  So if the run gets stuffed, Georgia has trouble moving the ball.  Defense, when fully staffed is good.  Fromm had multiple interceptions and their great FG kicker missed relatively easy FGs in both their losses.  Kind of a general all around breakdown in those two games.  Georgia dominated Florida and Auburn the way UT dominated UGA last year.  The scores weren't one sided, but there was little doubt who was the better team those days.

I forgot he hit an *opposing* player. You couldn’t get away with that - even back then.

James Franklin came close before UGA coach intervened.  Those two got into it.  Franklin got promoted to head coach at Penn St.  But then that is where they look the other way to rapes of young boys.

This game is gonna get decided by the Baylor Front 7. If they can stop Georgia's zone runs out of a heavy personnel package w/ their 3 down base, Georgia's offense is gonna do jack shit w/ their non-existent WR corp. If Georgia goes heavy and is consistently getting 5 / .6 YPC, Baylor will pull out a 4 man Front and load the box, and Fromm is gonna get some one on one looks against the Baylor CBs that are good, but aren't good enough to hold up without giving up a big play.

I think Georgia wins a close game around 20, but the path is absolutely there for Georgia to lose by 20 in a 30-9 game.

Georgia's #1 RB is injured and going to NFL.

Georgia's #2 RB is going to NFL.

Georgia's #3 RB got arrested for possession and driving w/o a license.

Freshman will get a lot of carries.

Damn, that's taking "didn't want to be there" to a whole 'nuther level.

I've often thought though that bowl game participation as a show of loyalty or whatever is a very personal decision. The season is over, the academic year is over, I'm not even sure if the players are actually even on scholarship at that point, technically. They've fulfilled their obligations to the school and completed their season. Do you want to take a trip to Norleans and play another game, for funsises? Maybe, maybe not.

1 is grades, 1 is suspension, some are injuries.  Not all are NFL.

Had to miss most of the game.  From what little I saw the defense looked really solid.

What were the main differences?  Looked like we stopped doing delayed blitzes and instead put a lot of pressure on the qb

We did a few delayed blitzes, but mostly the QB was down or had to get rid of it by the time they got there.

What was most impressive was all the 3 and 4 yard losses they had running the ball.  There was a LOT of penetration.

You and the other wimmenz don’t mind, I reckon.

I did try to listen to the amazon alternate NFL stream with Hannah Storm and some chick. Gave up after 3 plays.

It just ain’t natural. Has nothing to do with their knowledge of the game. I just don’t want to hear my wife/mom talk football.

I could listen to Hannah all day.  And I don't know what type of idiot that ESPN guy was who didn't think she looked hot in that tight skirt and boots at age 45.

Agree on the offsetting penalties, but I don’t call that a bobble. He was adjusting the ball, control was never in question.

He definitely bobbled it.  But I think he got it back in control before stepping out of bounds.

Am I the only one that doesn't mind Beth Mowins?  I mean it could be worse, we could be playing Mack Brown Bingo.

This is the thread where you say something nice about Mrs. Mowins.

I'll start this off.   I actually don't mind her voice during morning games.  I'm actually curious how different the Beth Mowins experience would be during an evening game?  Like a cup of coffee (or bucket of ice water while still in bed)....

Yes.  You are the only one.  The only thing I can say good about her is she isn't as much of an idiot as the guy she was paired with on that UK-VT game.

    Since inception of CFP:

    XII has 0 CFP titles...
    PAC has 0 CFP titles...

    B1G has 1 CFP title...

ACC & SEC have won all others, and are both playing for another this season... Who is the main backer of 3rd tier content..? Disney...
    Disney has XII 3rd tier rights of..? Texas/Texas Tech/TCU/Baylor/Oklahoma State/Kansas/Kansas State/Iowa State/West Virginia...
One school is still missing, one school could be on the market at to 3rd tier rights in 2022, Oklahoma (currently signed with Sinclair)...

How could Disney entice USC to look at increasing overall media revenue from $31 million per year & increase revenues for OU & UT..?

    Very aggy of you.

There have been 17 CFP games.

    Alabama has won 6.

    Clemson has won 6.

    Ohio St. has won 2.

Oregon, LSU and Georgia each have a win.

The SEC, Big 10 and ACC don't have any wins.  Its really been dominated by Alabama and Clemson who have 12 of the 14 wins since the first year.

The ACCN is going to have the ACC passing the Big 12 soon.

Also the ACC is more stable because they have expansion options (ND, UConn, WVU, Cincy, and even UCF) even if they lose a team or two and no team in the ACC has as much power as Texas/Oklahoma, or USC/UCLA so if they leave the rest of the conference will survive.  The Big 12 can’t claim that.

The ACC is just barely ahead of the American Conference in football strength this year in all the computers.  The Big 12 was #1 prior to the bowls.  With the tough matchups, that probably won't last.  But the Big 12 was way ahead of the Pac and ACC.
