It’s weird that there hasn’t been an update in thread in months, but that’s not why I am posting.
Someone mentioned that Texas has the most individual Masters winners at 3. Not sure if there’s a convenient way to confirm that so figured I’d ask here since some posters always seem to know their shit about whatever sport is being discussed.

What's your O/U for wins for them? 6.5/7?
I’m abstaining from seriously considering records until the portal is closed. Right now I’d say that’s about right but who the hell knows what is about to happen? The aggie roster, because of circumstances regarding staff transition and so on, has as much risk on it as any out there.
There continue to be rumblings of upheaval in some name programs this next week. I don’t know how much of that is media bullshit from the likes of Pate versus true.

Wife and I saw Love last summer; just had a feeling it wasn't going to be around much longer. Was our second time, and we had front row seats.

what the fuck is “recruiting pedigree?”
In scouting parlance, there's a notion that where a player was ranked and/or drafted matters years later when looking at the player's performance and expectations in the future. So if a 1st rounder, 4 years later, is busting down in A ball, another team may still trade for him at a discount because "somebody saw something". So what he's saying is that even though Reuben Owens plays like a pussy and can't pass block for shit, maybe he'll eventually turn some sort of corner because, hey, 5 star!
In other arenas, this would be called "valuing loss".

Dude, you have a sweet bromance with Nahlin? Y'all are a perfect fit for another. You should just hang out over there and help him huff his farts while the Wells idiot gets visibly high by 10am on video and Ian Boyd puts everyone to sleep with a lunchtime breakdown of why the 4-4 needs to see a resurgence.

Who was the last player from Skyline? It's been a while, no?
Peter Jinkens?
Looks like it could be Anthony Wheeler.

I know you were rejoiced to hear he’s sticking with USC but it appears that may be walked back. Meaning he may enter the portal and that Texas will be the spot if that happens.
Credit where it is due here, you’ve made a post in English and there’s an understandable point in said post.
That considered, where are you gathering this? Have you been DMing with Ketchum again?

@closetojumping there are rumors coming out that Bear Alexander is starting to walk back that natty comment and sticking with USC behind closed doors.
Why are you @ting me here, clown? Also, that shit already happened like 3 days ago. I wouldn't trust anything you hear about that idiot until the portal is closed, good or bad.

CB continues to be a mystery early in this cycle. There's Brew and then a bunch of question marks around who they really want.

A basketball poster on the OU on3 site who seems to be reputable said that OSU met with Brandon Garrison yesterday and upped their NIL offer to 300k to try to get him to return. He apparently told OSU the offers he has been getting from other schools, including Texas, are at least 2x what OSU is offering.
This is for a dude who, while extremely talented and has a ton of potential, averaged 7 points and 5 rebounds last year. Lines up with what Gerry has been saying on OTF about the asking prices being out of control this cycle.

Okay, yeah, I've confirmed that that isn't close to a valid number.

We were talking about edge being a crowded spot. Someone mentioned Walton as a possible transfer. My take on Walton/Akana was not for this cycle and really just reinforcing that the DLine coaches really like Walton and think he will be a player for Texas if he is patient. There is some similarities in the coaches eyes between the two players so I wonder if down the line a decision will need to be made between the two. I doubt either transfers this cycle.
Thanks for clarifying. That was how I read what you were saying.

OU seat selection should be June/July, no?
Listen, Captain Pedantry, it is right there in the text that I pasted from the email. That would definitely be a tsk tsk with a loss of 10 points out of 100 on your reading comprehension homework.

He’s having a hard time figuring out which site he’s posting on. He has to be somewhat polite on the other one because of the fragile people who don’t even know they can post without their real names.
One of the things I've started entertaining myself with is tallying the number of times I see the term, and its adjacencies, "this/the/that young man" in given threads. It's fucking amazing how often it is popping up in either adulatory or scolding tones regarding the players. I feel like that immediately marks the poster as over 75 years of age or as a guy wearing a bow tie daily and buried in the bowels of some sad Fortune 1000's accounting or HR department and still living with his mother.

This sentiment will be short lived after Texas’s success this upcoming season, imo
They’ll be back to impatient and irrational Auburn west in no time
Auburn West is pretty good.
If Texas is playing in the CFP, or playing for the NT, or, God forbid, winning the NT, I agree that they will be absolutely shitting themselves in panic. These guys involved in and around the top over there are trending towards Euro football hoodlum type of fanaticism. Particularly if they have the season I think they're going to have, notwithstanding surprising and crazy shit in this portal window that somehow benefits them.

I worked with a woman from Philadelphia for a few years. Great chick but very self-serious. At some point, "Yo, Jackie!! I soaked up Philly like a sponge!" was an appropriate line during a group meeting. She acted like she had no idea what I was referencing. Turns out, she was telling the truth. I didn't realize how regional JITB is. So then I had to show her the commercial and she did not appreciate it. I laughed.

I raise an eyebrow at the name change, and you accuse me of pissing myself. Ok, chooch. The only person on this thread doing that is BO&W over Akana’s weight.
Well, no. First I accused you of being an acolyte of Joe Dirt who leaves a wake of bad shit happening behind him. I feel like that's a pretty accurate image for those who haven't met you. Then I said you squat to pee.

You conjured it with your fucking change of the thread title, you “I Soaked Up Philly Like A Sponge” motherfucker. Or are you some kind of downgrade who tells people to buckle up when they’re in store for literally nothing?
Buckle up motherfuckers, we’re about to have calm seas, no wind, and blowjobs for everyone!
There also can be a heavy dose of choppy waters to navigate even if we're not losing half the starting lineup, which you're apparently wetting yourself over. While you've been on leave for your annual visit to the nuthouse, there's been a solid transfer candidate discussion. There is going to some serious ebb and flow starting next week that will involve some pain even if it doesn't meet your squatting to pee standard of losing half the starters. Also, it will have its positives.

Guys, are the seat-picking times you're alluding to for OU? If so, that makes me nervous since I haven't been given a time. If it's for seats in DKR, nm since that isn't relevant to me.

They are convinced with a 12 team playoff they can be the 3rd team from the SEC to sneak in. Tbh with their Charmin soft schedule (and a lot of luck) they do have an outside shot at it. Personally I think even Mizz or BloU have a better chance than aggy, but don't tell them that.
They don't have a vague shot at the CFP. If you feel better than that about it, we should place a bet. I will take all comers for any bet size that Texas A&M isn't making the fucking playoffs in the 2024 season. Window's open.
Also, the SEC will get 4 or 5 teams into this cycle and most others.

Do you think they are in a position to be big portal shoppers in the second window? I have heard that this one is going to be very active with some quality guys out there. Hell, guys like Austin Jordan and Tapp would be huge lifts for them.
I don't think they actually want to be big portal shoppers, but we'll see. I know fatigue is a thing over there right now and Elko is telling the money exactly what they want to hear right now, and he may well believe it.
Apparently, the Junction Boys spirit is alive and well in aggieland. Due to the notion of culture rot, Elko is being forced to tear the whole thing down to the studs so that he can replenish the program with "his guys" and the kind of blue collar work ethic that oh so many aggies fantasize about seeing others exhibit. That's going to lead to some pain over a few cycles of the portal and recruiting, but they'll be playing for SEC titles after that.
Right.

I went and checked out Bama's draft history from 2009-2023. They've had a ridiculous amount of TBs taken in the first 3 rounds during that time, but they don't really have a streak longer than 3 or 4 drafts in which one was taken. Looks like they might get one taken late this year in Jase McClellan.
