Dude, nobody can prove anything until they play games. Are you slow?
I'm not slow, no. That said, the Dunning Kruger Effect is certainly shining brightly in this exchange.
No one is asking for "proof", just that you make even a vague attempt to support your position. You can cite facts in the form of player and coaching roles that offer up reasons for your optimism regarding "much improved". Or offer informed opinions about the team's outlook. Instead, you've chosen to take the tact of being overly literal and tedious as a means of hoping the rest of us fail to notice that you don't know a fucking thing about the subject matter in which you keep inserting your witless and vapid comments.

Shit, forgot about that rule already. Tough luck
What is irritating about your first post is the way you indicate that "they" have conveyed to someone, maybe only you, that that guy is the target. All Gerry did, in a generic portal thread, was state that Arkansas' stud punter was in the portal. That doesn't immediately indicate that he's thinking Texas is in on the guy. Christ.

Comparing Torchy’s or Velvet to taqueria tacos is apples and oranges to me. Sure, both are tortillas wrapped around a filling just like apples and oranges are both fruits. The comparison ends there. They are completely different products and it’s not some sort of crime against humanity to like both.
Good point.
I want to go to this new Euro/Texan place called Blue Tuba at the old Harold's In the Heights location in Houston. It sounds absurd. They have "tacos" on their menu, apparently, that will make Velvet's seem traditional.

Hey dipshit, they don't play the games until fall, but on paper the team looks better.
I provided a legitimate challenge to a premise you continue to promote without any supporting facts. You stating something repeatedly doesn't make it so. That considered, you've proven to be a low information poster on most subject matter and certainly the game of football, so your best response is probably a banal platitude coupled with another unsupported opinion.

This team should be much improved over last year. But there has definitely been a lot of players coming and going. Part of that is him and part of that is the new rules in college FB.
Show your work regarding the team being "much improved". You keep typing that without supporting that POV.
I see an OL consisting of a true freshman starting at LT who, in interviews, seems like he has the maturity of a 5th grader. Then you have 4 new guys who transferred in from CFB backwaters like UTEP and UConn or places like UH after never even making a fucking dent on the roster at Texas before that, when we needed OLs to show up and play. None of these guys have ever taken a game snap with one another. Good thing familiarity and cohesive experience don't play much of a role with quality OL play.
You downgraded at TE. You're still dependent upon Hunter playing 100 snaps each game. Almost the entire front 7 on defense are pure castoffs, albeit some with recruiting "pedigree".
You have an inherently dysfunctional staff and two players with outsize influence potentially roiling said staff or the locker room whenever the fuck they feel like it.
There is zero legitimate depth behind the island of misfit toys comprising the starting lineup.
So, yeah, let's hear about this notion of "much improved". I see 3-9/4-8 unless some teams on the schedule are absurdly incompetent themselves. NDSU, Baylor, maybe CSU, and Cincy will all be winnable. The rest reminds me of the schedule last year.

Toia they were waiting on. I'm not critical of Williams being a surprise, btw. Just never heard anything about that one being on anyone's radar.
Before anyone goes there, if one of the Michigan DTs ever goes in, it really doesn't matter what else Texas pulled in or has on the roster. Grant, I think. Maybe either. One of them has been linked to Texas repeatedly though.

Holy shit, how long did it take you to type that?
I typed it on my phone and it autocorrected to include the accents. Unlike some buffoons who claim that autocorrect is the accidental destroyer of their grammar and spelling on this site (ahem ... @SydneyCarton ), my autocorrect simply exists to add the chef's kisses to my stunning missives.

I don't think Texas was prepared on Williams. That tells me that USC and OU have been working him longer. Seems like a really tough pull.

Be sure to have your trigger finger ready to post a screed on why The Breakfast Club and Sixteen Candles are just terrible, humorless movies.
I saw each once when I was little. I remember naked females in Sixteen Candles and some quotes from both, that's it. I have a buddy who is obsessed with all of those movies, but they didn't get hooks into me. Seem like good stuff for folks of a certain age though.

I think an Aggie source that @closetojumping quoted stated that his ankle is still healing which was raising questions about who might start. In fact, as I think about it, I believe it was the head coach himself who said this. Further, medical professionals on this board described how serious the injury and that you don't know if it will heal all the way until it actually does.
I'm not saying Weigman's prospects are dire, but I don't believe they're as assured as you write.
Based on what they're reporting from post practice interviews with The Elk, this is correct. Apparently he cannot go full speed all of the time and he hasn't separated from the other guys who are able to go full throttle. I viewed it as The Elk trying to prod Weigman out of his perceived goldbricking.

I was trying to make a joke about their small portions and high prices.
Then my joke is that I don't think you've eaten at either place with that take or you are a gigantic tub of goo with a shadow that weighs forty-two pounds. Both places put out tacos that are trend from normal to extra large in terms of portions.

Just saw this thread.
From a site business perspective, I would guess that derka still drives plenty of views and activity when he has something to say. Conversely, MotownHorn is a bandwidth draining troll that has never added a single positive contribution to any thread on this site. His handle is even a troll.
I know derka has his issues, and he cannot control his behavior at times which merits time off. But he has interesting things to say. He provides a fun amount of chaos because many simply can't handle his management of his position coupled with Hyperbolic Personality Disorder-driven rants about himself in relation to perceived affronts. Inside of all of that are usually good points for consideration around whatever the subject matter is.
If you took the 5-6 posters who ride his ass all over this board and permabanned them, no one would even notice. Permabanning derka, however, does diminish the value of the content on this site in some form.

This notion of "need" regarding DT has gotten out of hand across the longhorn netdom and the media it follows. We "need" oxygen. The football team "needs" depth and a standout QB. It would be nice to have another anchor at DT for this season. I hope the plans for one come together and Texas has another excellent option on the roster by the summertime.
That said, all aspects of the defense are going to be better around these spots, and that lessens the urgency that many are espousing. Texas has better depth across the board, better experience at every other spot, and better talent everywhere else. There's also quality talent at the DT positions and that talent can be realized. Texas isn't trotting out Alex Norman and Gerald Wilbon on the interior DL this year irrespective of whether they bring another guy in from the portal or not.

About every 12 months, I’ll be hungry and looking around and see a Velvet Taco near where I work. “I haven’t had that in a while. Why don’t I go there more often?”
45 minutes later as I’m walking out: “I’m never eating that fucked up shit again.”
I don’t ever even ponder entering a Torchy’s.
10 hours ago, billfromlaketravis said:I like Velvet Taco better, but they’re both snacks. Too small to be a meal unless you order 5 a la carte tacos at $5.50 each.
Are you a competitive eater or something? If 5 tacos from either place is how you qualify a meal, you’re either that or posting 4+bills and need two chairs for your seating.

I assume Canham isn’t the first choice. That said, Beau Vine wants everyone to know his pursuit is fruitless, guys. No way. Canham cannot be money whipped into a conference with a pulse. Not happening.
GTFO and leave the naïveté to new visitors, dipshit.

I see this has surprisingly devolved into the worst active thread on the board right now. Unsurprisingly, BO&W and SydneyCarton are squarely in the middle of it.

Tulo would be a worse hire than the feel good story of Rodney Terry.
Vaughn at Bama would be a super good recruiter and is a good coach. Canham and Bakich are great too.
I hate the guy but Vitello is a hell of a recruiter but again fuck that guy.
The problem with going after SEC guys is that the financial situation for those schools isn't the same as it is for Oregon State or the ACC schools or freaking ECU. I think Canham and Godwin played at the schools they're currently coaching, but that can still be overcome. Hell, Jonathan Smith is coaching at Michigan State right now because Oregon State is permafucked in the go-forward for major athletic programs. Canham might make the most sense, but I think Bakich could win big at Texas.

It's kind of unbelievable how predictably all of this is unfolding. Deion's arrogance in the notion that he's some sort of magnetic force that will simply attract the best and the brightest due to that was only reinforced by the start early last season and all of the adoration.
That didn't translate at all in recruiting, it's starting to seriously lose its luster with the current roster, and the transfer portal this cycle is shit for them. It may turn out that the HC of a program actually has to, you know, put the work in on recruiting, player relationship management, and portal recruiting. That would blow a lot of minds, not the least of which will be Deion's. Then he'll just blame a bunch of other people and mysterious forces working against him and fuck off elsewhere eventually.
This CU 2024, short of a number of portal hail mary completions, is 2-10/3-9 at best and the roster is all his (un)doing.

Deion Sanders "Coach Prime" Now At Colorado
in Football
Posted
My mind isn't made up on much of anything, particularly college football teams before the spring portal even closes. I've offered concrete thoughts on why I think CU, as it stands, won't be better than 3-9/4-8 in 2024. I asked you to support your view on why we should expect vast improvement. You've done nothing since but be an evasive child using weak rhetorical tactics that are likely useful only in the comments section of HuffPo and Slate articles.
It's obvious that you're just intimidated that we're going to discover that you likely can't name a starter outside of Travis Hunter and Shilo Sanders on CU's defense and likely couldn't even tell us what schemes to expect from the new offensive staff heading into this season. Breaking News: you've already shown yourself in that regard, which is what has us here.
