For someone who refers to another as a “lying piece of shit” you sure have a way of making up arguments in your head.

At least attempt to be original, guy. Good lord.

“A lying piece of shit”. Wow lol. Sorry I got confused about which coach who hasn’t accomplished shit you were advocating for.

Ive literally called for DP to be fired many times on this board. But I am not replacing him with a bunch of dudes who haven’t done anything.

Why are you such a thin skinned pussy? Maybe don’t talk shit to everyone else if you’re gonna act like a baby when someone says something back.

That’s a lot of words to just say “I’m an ardent David Pierce supporter. I would never replace him unless someone promised me a sure thing so I can sleep at night without my safety blanket. “

Oh yea that’s absolutely what I’ve said. You constantly call others clowns because they think results matter but then you’re ok with saying Saarloos or Walter lol.

Fair. Gotta do something and Jack O Dowd certainly ain’t the answer

Never mentioned Saarloos. Negged for being a lying piece of shit.

Keep carrying water for Pierce. Let’s see how it works out. So far, so good.

You’re the guy who was advocating hiring someone who’s been to Omaha once in 18 years.

You’re the guy campaigning for a lifetime contract for David Pierce.

OU tickets and away game request email is out now.

I just picked up my 6 OU and 4 Michigan tickets. Sitting with Arkansas boosters at Fayetteville and do not plan to attend away ATM games ever again.

  6. Again, I cannot vouch for my BIL’s access, I just know that he’s a decent booster and has usually been right when we bullshit over text, but he says the background check/references/PI, whatever, could not recommend the guy for hire and there were a number of people who would have to override that had concerns about their liability in doing so.

If that is true, the level of toxicity in Beard’s world at this point has to be off the charts. I don’t view Arkansas as an outlaw program and they have legitimate business folks involved with their oversight and donor base, but you know those fuckers want to win and look the other way.

Sounds like he's talking about Cuchara

It sounds like he’s just being billfromlaketravis. Also, Cuchara isn’t texmex, is it? We used to work within walking distance of that place in Midtown right after it opened and before we sold our business. We excitedly went in for lunch at the new place after it opened a few times. I remember thinking “there’s no way this place makes it” because no one besides us was ever in there.

I'm pretty good at the random stranger chat . . . it bugs my wife to no end, she can't converse with anyone she hasn't known for weeks . . . but it always amuses me how prone Aggies are to assume anyone gives a shit that they went to school there.  UT is far more prestigious and I always work on the assumption that the average person doesn't consider it as any different than a Rutgers or a Colorado or whatever.  Must be ingrained during Fish Camp.

I don’t mind a chat, but I’m relatively introverted unless I know you. It’s fine. I had no UT gear on and it’s just odd that he went to the school question pretty quickly. What I was a plumber or carpenter and had no background or interest in college?

The instant he asked what school you knew he was aggy

You’re right in that I thought “there’s no way I’m running into a fucking aggie at a random hotel bar in Boston” but sure enough …

I still love El Tiempo, and I haven't noticed a drop off in quality. Of course, every time I go I'm getting the chicken fajitas. And those sure as hell haven't changed as far as I can tell. Also, costco sells $100 in El Tiempo gift cards for 75, sometimes 65 dollars. I usually grab that every couple months, and yeeah, the wednesday night special is great.

Pappasitos always gets ignored by many, probably becuase it's also deemed pricey, but their chicken fajitas blows away damn near everyone except El Tiempo, maybe. Their salsa is fucking great. The only gripe I have is that they're the most likely mexican place I go to get at least 1-2 giant clumps if inedible chip clusters where it's 15 chips glued together.

As a proud Pappasito’s alum, I still love it. They have kept their standards on quality for 41 years irrespective of location. Other places do things better and other styles might be preferred, but if I default to texmex, it’s Sito’s.

My view is that damned near of the places named are all places I wouldn’t argue about going to for a meet-up.

I don’t know to feel about El T. They could sell margaritas and tacos at the Juice Box and NRG and continue to exist forever.

I’ve had so many good meals at the Washington and Gessner locations. One of the few places with pork fajitas and brisket crunchy tacos. I agree their prices are insane. I remember paying $15 take out fees during Covid, and becoming deeply bitter. But I still remember carne asada + 2 rita lunches for like $30 back in the day.

I think Los Tios is the same quality and much cheaper. They have $10 lunch specials. Happy Hour ritas are like 5 bucks.

I think we’d all be wise to stop ordering fajitas and go back to the old school combo plates at little neighborhood places.

We go to Los Tios now also.

And Escalante's chicken fajitas are a carryout staple.  I can feed the four of us and have leftovers for around $40.

Okay, hit the fucking brakes, guys. Gross Tios and El Tiempo are nowhere near the same tier in terms of quality. You’re getting old and, even if well monied, incorporating costs into your view on the taste experience.

Also, I work near the Galleria and the new El Tiempo down Westheimer is a great place to easily meet someone for lunch, in no small part because 90% of the tables and booths are unoccupied. I don’t know how that place stays open.

Seems like he was a guy that Choate liked. Wonder if he ends up at Nevada.

Can’t find any info on who his dad is. Found one article where he mentioned that his parents both went to Baylor but didn’t go into more detail.

We do. We enjoy rooting against your athletic programs and witnessing the anguish of your fanbase with each of their failures.

If you think we’d shy away from admitting such pettiness, you have not been paying attention to the depths of our shamelessness.

  13. Again, take this FWIW, but allegedly he’s not signing an agreement with a moral clause in it, so the board has to meet and approve the contract. Additionally the background check has already come back with multiple accounts involving heavy alcohol usage. I mean, they’ll hire him anyway, if any of that is even true.

I want the moral clause thing to be true because that is the kind of college sports/SEC coaching villainy that I find highly entertaining. I’m not cheering on any addiction problems, to be clear. I’m enjoying the notion that Petrino probably required them to waive the morals clause too. Please let it be so.

So with 4 freshmen set to arrive this summer and Silas Bolden from the portal they need to lose like 9-11 guys to get to 78-80 before those enrollments. Plus 1-2 more portal guys.

Incorrect. The guys who signed and not on campus plus Bolden are part of the 89. Add Auburn and you’re at 90.  If they add 3 guys from the portal, they need to lose 7.

Has anyone else been quietly/slightly concerned about Johntay Cook?

I didn't follow his recruitment or watch highlights from HS, but I know he was huge commitment and people expect greatness. In his limited time last year, he looked...good? Nothing really jumped off the screen. Now we've added Bond/Golden/Bolden. Wingo is making a huge impression already and even DeAndre Moore seems to be turning a corner. Niblack is gonna get targets and maybe even Wisner along with Baxter/Blue out of the backfield.  That's a lot of options for Quinn, and most of the spring reports I've read/seen so far don't seem to talk about Johntay much.

Obviously as a fan this added WR depth is GREAT news. Hope Cook lights it up Just wonder if it's possible if he gets lost in the shuffle.

Cook has looked good and on track for plenty of playing time. Any of these guys can always go elsewhere, but if he sticks to it, he’s going to be a starter and a regular target.
