  1. as a fairly passive follower of F1 outside of Austin, checked in on the first month and it looks like we have a little bit different outcomes...were rules changed over the offseason that eliminated mercedes's advantage?  also, a non-vettel/hamilton win!

do you guys think there is any chance that we still have some drama in the driver and constructor cup standings by the time austin rolls around in the fall for a change?

  2. and it is very conspicuous that the only topic that seems to trigger a flurry of posts from spanky on the politics board generally deal with discrimination of African americans.

the topic is akin to hustling credit card points or pretending like living in a shitbox in jersey is a badge of honor in terms of being a bat signal.

    vexing.

  3. i'm not sure why someone is so committed to having a stretched out stadium pic in the background (vs.say, a banner version in the header and maybe a footer), but regardless of which pic, it does not look very good imo.  just go with the grey background would be my recommendation if anyone gave a shit.

Texas returns from Sugar Land for a three-game, non-conference series against New Orleans at UFCU Disch-Falk Field.

A LOOK AT THE PRIVATEERS—New Orleans is coming off a pair of midweek losses to South Alabama and Jackson State…offensively, the Privateers are led by Owen Magee (.341/.393/.500) and Beau Bratton (318/.384/.448) so far this season…Pearce Howard leads New Orleans with six homers while Cody Ducote has five homers and 28 RBI…on the hill, reliever John Barr has amassed a 4-2 record to go along with a 1.93 ERA in 42.0 innings over 18 appearances…he's struck out 41 compared to just 16 walks…starting LHP Bryan Warzek leads the staff with a 2-2 record and a 2.93 ERA…he's fanned 83 hittersin just 55.1 innings of work while holding opponents to a .206 batting average against on the year.

A LOOK AT THE LONGHORNS—Texas will take part in non-conference action this weekend following five straight weekends of Big 12 play…the Longhorns enter Friday night's game with two wins after defeating UTRGV on Tuesday night and Texas Southern on Wednesday…Kody Clemens continues to pace the Texas offense with a .369/.466/.711 line, 12 homers, and 44 RBI…on the mound, the Texas staff will look to return to form in the weekend rotation…out of the bullpen, Parker Joe Robinson (11 games, 2.20 ERA) and Andy McGuire (13 games, 2.45 ERA, 5 saves) have helped solidify the bullpen.

NEXT UP—Texas will host Houston on Tuesday before heading to West Virginia for a three-game Big 12 Conference series.

THE MCKENZIE FLOAT—Senior RHP/UTIL player Jake McKenzie played all nine positions in Tuesday night's seven-inning win over UTRGV…McKenzie started the game at catcher, the only position he had not previously played while at Texas, before moving through the infield and outfield…he got the final two outs of the ballgame on the mound…McKenzie was recognized on Sportscenter and on ESPN's "Get Up!" program in the "My Favorite Player of All-Time (Right This Second)" segment for accomplishing a feat that only five major league players have.

KODY SHOW CONTINUES—Kody Clemens has been on a tear offensively this season…on Tuesday night vs. UTRGV, the junior hit his 12th homer of the season, a grand slam, to help him to a career-high 6 RBI in the game…it was his second grand slam of the season…earlier this month, Perfect Game/Rawlings and D1Baseball.com each announced their Midseason All-America teams and 2B Kody Clemens was named to the first team on both…USA Baseball also announced Clemens as a member of its Golden Spikes Award midseason watch list…Clemens ranks in the top five in the conference in several offensive categories: home runs (T-1st, 12), SLG (2nd, .711), total bases (1st, 106), average (3rd, .369), hits (T-3rd, 55), RBI (3rd, 44), and OBP (5th, .466).

ZUUUBOMB—For the second straight week, redshirt-freshman Zach Zubia was named Big 12 Conference Newcomer of the Week…Zubia hit two huge home runs over the weekend at Oklahoma…Saturday's put the Horns ahead in the eighth inning, leading to the series win…with a walk on Wednesday night, he extended his reached base safely streak to 39 games.

VROOM VROOM—Sophomore SS David Hamilton stole his Big 12-leading 23rd base of the year on Wednesday night…he is Longhorns' first player with 20 stolen bases since Ben Johnson's 21 in 2014…the last Longhorn with at least 25 stolen bases was Golden Spikes Award finalist Drew Stubbs who stole 26 bags in 2006.

BACK IN THE POLLS—After the series win at then-No. 16 Oklahoma, Texas has shot back into the rankings…the Longhorns are ranked No. 21 by D1Baseball.com, No. 20 by Baseball America, and No. 24 by Perfect Game/Rawlings.

GO DJ, THAT'S MY DJ—After the first five attempted stolen bases against him were successful, DJ Petrinsky has caught 14-of-20 since, good for 56% caught stealing on the season.

CONFERENCE DEFENSE—The Texas defense has solidified since Big 12 Conference action began…the Longhorns are fielding at a .988 clip over 15 league games, with position players making just five of the team's seven errors…in 15 conference games, the Texas defense has also turned 17 double plays…the Horns' .978 fielding percentage across all games is good for tops among Big 12 teams.[.quote]

Let’s take an objective look at it.

88% of practicing lawyers in the U.S. are white. 4.8% are black. That means, statistically speaking, 88 white candidates and 5 black candidates will apply for every 100. Except, that’s not a transitive stat. Not every white or black attorney has ambitions to work for a large firm and we are discounting 7.2% of attorneys that do not fall into either demographic.

How many firms would qualify as “biglaw”? First, we would have to define the term, which generally refers to firms that have 1,000+ Partners. If we are being very liberal on that terminology, maybe 35 firms in the U.S. would qualify. Of course, the largest firms have offices in big cities, such as New York, Los Angeles, Chicago and Miami, so the geographical area is wide yet condensed. Then, factor in the specialized needs, such as dual languages to serve the specific markets, that may be needed for that specialization.

Is it racism or could it possibly be that there aren’t enough qualified black attorneys with 10+ years in antitrust experience willing to relocate to Miami and can speak Spanish?

The stats are on par with the market. A qualified minority candidate, as JS said, is a diamond in the rough that the hiring manager will trip over themselves to extend an offer to. Why? To hit a diversity quota to show how not racist they are because people such as yourself don’t care about the facts.

Never mind. It's pure racism built from an underground conspiracy of big law firms to keep the black man down. There's a handshake and everything.

man, it is almost like you purposefully tried to demonstrate that you completely and utterly missed the entire point of the post you quoted...

God damn IRL American Dad lives in y’all’s heads.  This shit is hilarious.  Shouldn’t we be more concerned with why in the actual fuck our politicians want to get into another war with Syria?  Why don’t we clean up Mexico instead if we’re gonna be the moral police.  Seriously, fuck this country.  All politicians should be executed.  Maybe things would get better then.

Hilariously dumb post and worthless attempt at obfuscation but for amusement, what if I told you that Sean hannity was part of the problem in why in the actual fuck we are getting into another war with Syria...

    would your mind be blown?

Yeah, when they depart from the format of the entire series where talking to dead people is actually a representation of a character's inner thoughts and it turns into actually communing with the dead in the afterlife. Blecch.

The first season was great, the second season was pretty great too. Each season got progressively worse from there. I thought the ending sucked. When Nathaniel Sr. stops showing up it's safe to stop watching.

man, i have read things posted by dumbshit trumpkins on the politics board that i agree with more than this.  good lord.

    great series.

I really really like the post layout a lot better, it's much easier to read. However the background image honestly sucks, seems a bit too much like your first website on Lycos.

this essentially nails it.  the new layout is awesome and relatively clean.  really like some contrast between posts a lot.  for the list of forums when one is in the forums, i might change it from black on white to something that pops a bit more.

but the stadium pic in the background is aaaaawwwwwwful.  really cheapens the rest of the site a lot.

as the arbiter of all taste in all things fine in this world, i would strongly recommend dumping that pic altogether...but at least get rid of the zoom and stretch on a low res pic.

Oh I'm sorry, let me simplify it for you professor.. Bite me.....

    Okay.

So for clarity, it actually was your intention in those two posts to state that outside of donald trump, every single other candidate in the country is “as bad as her criminal ass”...that donald was the only candidate that was “not quite as bad.”

    Got it, shitforbrains.

I would say it depends.  There have been plenty of people that have railed against the raid.  You are purely speculating that Hannity had anything personal tied up in the raid.  If we take Hannity at his word that he and cohen had a few calls over the years about real estate stuff and there were never any bills or payments or anything else then how would Hannity be "tied" up in the raid other than his name was on Cohen's client list?

Do you agree that Hannity railing on the radio had exactly zero impact on any of the legal proceedings?  What do you think the reaction would have been on this board and the general media if Hannity had said something like "I have known Cohen for years and have used him as an attorney a few times"?  The reaction would be exactly like it is today.

Like I said, IF Hannity is hiding something nefarious then he deserves scorn and ridicule and it would be the height of hypocrisy.  I think hypocrisy is about the worst trait a person can have.  I loathe it.  Hannity does not have any bearing on my life in any way as I do not listen or watch him.  If he is a hypocrite then fry his ass.  I do not see it here.

    username certainly checks out...

Speaking of violence and since you seem to want to take some moral high ground based on your team, would the USA be less violent if all democrat constituencies left or if all GOP constituencies left?

this question is akin to the type of serious intellectual reflection that leads to questions like...

if superman got into a fight with aquaman, batman, and green lantern at the same time, who would win?

if the city of new york got into a fight with the city of los angeles, who would win?

would hitler have lost ww2 if he could shoot laser beams out of his dick?
