Now Barcelona or New Zealand or Dubrovnik/Croatian coast? I have a blast in those type of places. Vegas is just an ode to excess and a lot that I find wrong about America

you're telling me with a straight face that your wife is actually nixing those ideas for preference of going to vegas?

I don't like Vegas at all and haven't been in over a decade and a half but my wife has never been and keeps bringing it up. Thinking going to have to take her once later this year just so she can see it. Already dreading it as far as I can figure it's way more expensive, more corporate, and an even bigger pain in the ass as it was in 2003 when I went last. Going to blow a ton of money on shit I can't stand while I could have used it for a much better trip.

Anyway, flying from Texas I found round trip flights for two and 4 nights at luxury suite in the Venetian for $840 total. That sounds like a good deal to me but is it?

WTF?  My position on budgets and spending remains unchanged, and my position of being repulsed by politicians in congress remains unchanged.  My position of failed morons like Paul Ryan, now Pelosi and Mitch McConnell running anything with regard to finance, budgeting and spending the people's money remains unchanged.  My feeling that Trump has failed to control the budget process to lead us into some form of fiscal responsibility just as Obama failed, and Bush failed before him remains unchanged.  Seems you also forgot I do have principles that may or may not align with a party, but my position on government finance remains unchanged no matter which party is in charge.  I am quite certain my position on transgenders being allowed to serve their country is not in alignment with Republicans.

you made an obama is the devil because of fiscal stimulus post on an hourly basis during his reign as presidency.  just like emoryoid, you disappeared on the issue around early 2017.

I don't even know what "practiced ambivalence" means. So you win on that one. Someone else used it the other day as well and I scratched my head and moved on. We're not all stoic geniuses here, sidis. You levitate above us all on that front.

    thanks, bud!

I sure am glad linux stopped buttfucking you long enough to enable you to make this post about how above the fray you are and what fools the rest of us are. It really adds something substantive to the discussion every time you show up.

remember your practiced ambivalence...you're straying too far.

if a deal can fall through over some shitty, cryptic tweet and a 6.99 guy saying some major may be happening, then it must have been some bullshit that wasn't going to happen regardless.

precisely.  all this horseshit is amusing merely from the perspective of what a bunch of fucking housewives this entire sphere is...and what a bunch of attention whores there are on this board.

  8. single day trip: boboli gardens, piazza della signoria/loggia de lanzi, walk to the top of brunelleschi's dome for the view, the medici chapels in the church of san lorenzo where michelangelo's tombs of lorenzo and giuliano d'medici which are incredible.  that's about 2/3rds of a day.  spend the rest just walking around the centro and across the arno.  vabuckeye is correct that trattoria sostanza is very good and a lot of fun.  vivoli for gelato a must.

    have fun.

  9. did some economic consulting for a nameless e&p that did exploration in chad and other organizations involved attempting to avoid the "resource curse."  had to build a pipeline through chad and cameroon and there was an incredible amount spent on burying the pipelines due to fears of locals literally banging rocks against a high pressure transmission line.

    it was astounding to consider.

I am not a fee market hater but as a (mostly) retired hydrologist who has done projects around the world I realize that companies will sacrifice your environment for their economic gain without batting an eye and that the cleanup for such damage is not priced in or accounted for.  It's the Tragedy of the Commons all over again.

    I'm in hydrolics?

I barely give a shit about what my own family members say.  I truly do not understand why a social media post by Kendall Jenner can be important to anyone's personal life.
