  1. Think Dallas Turner had something to do with that. He played like a boss in that game. He was an uninhibited competitor up to that point.
  2. Don't fault that sack but 2nd fumble. 1st fumble I forgive, but not the second. Protect the damn ball.
  3. The camera views do us no favors, but the two receivers in view weren't open on the last throw. Ewers threw it for a comeback catch, but the ball just a smidgen too late. Either get it out sooner or needed more zip, but no one was really open on that side of the field and think it would have been short of the first even if caught.
  4. Wow. That penalty just shows the impossible position the defender was in. He did the only thing he could to prevent the receiver from converting the first, at the expense of defenseless receiver penalty. Complete BS.
  5. I'm actually going to defend Ewers on that strip sack. Anyone who has paid attention to my comments on him, knows I don't typically pull punches criticising him. But that protection broke down very quickly on his blind side and he really didn't have another direction to go than he did. Stumbling for sure hurt him there, but understandable given the circumstances. Hope he gets another series and opportunity to show better. Didn't get to see any of the other plays, so can't comment on those.
  6. I'm not concerned about WR. It's the OL for me. How soon can/will they get up to speed? To a much lesser extent, cornerback, and mainly for game 1. I fully expect the front seven to make things easier on the secondary, but I want to see validation beyond camp reports that our corners are up to the task. Not handwringing over it by any means as the secondary is deep and talented, and I think we are solid at Safety and likely OK at N. But they will face a steller WR corps game 1, and thinking that is best avenue of attack for tOSU as I expect us to be tough to run against. I also expect that the secondary only gets better as the schedule progresses.
  7. Replacing 4 starters, one of which includes the all important position of Center, not really sure what else one could expect less than two weeks into fall camp. Aside from mastering the mental aspects of the position, I do wonder if Hutson provides any physical advantage over Jake Majors. He's reportedly 6'5"-308 lbs vs Majors at 6'3"-315 lbs. Of course, those measurements don't quantify strength, quickness off the snap or physical proportionality. The overall conclusion remains the same though. We won't know until they play some games against real opponents.
  8. I do the same with Red Barron Supreme pizzas. Typically add pepperoni, mushrooms, jalapeños and some additional cheese. Sometimes additional onion and green peppers. It's a good enough product and so convenient, that it's been a while since I've made one from scratch. I should probably remedy that though.
  9. Apparently, he didn't drop them all. From a report posted by Getafix earlier: Getafix post #1527
  10. He also had real difficulty kicking from the right hash.
  11. Shoulder roast with indirect heat on the Weber. Mesquite briquettes and chunks. Oven seared prior to the grill. Roasted a couple of poblanos over the coals then added to the vegetable drip pan below the grate. Next time I'd go with four poblanos and perhaps forgo pre-searing. Came out pretty good.
  12. Hopefully, the OL does better as fall camp progresses. At least they're cutting their teeth against a legit front seven. Good stuff. Hoping Niblett and Butler make some noise this season and showcase their speed on the field.
  13. That was then. What about now that the evil empire has invaded the SEC galaxy and negative propaganda is at full throttle?
  14. Fingers crossed these are minor. Keep hoping this guy will get over the hump.
  15. I give it a thumbs up although I don't find the Hatch flavor to particularly pop. Perhaps it contributes to the overall flavor profile though. It makes a good taco and I'd buy it again.
  16. Arch will have a much better RB situation to start the year, likely equal or at least similar WRs, slight downgrade on OL and TE, and Sark will have a much bigger plays selection given Arch's scrambling and long ball. The defense will be likely at least equal and very possibly better. Aside from TO's, fewer stalled drives. Because there was a shit ton of them last season and shitty punting to go along with them. Our defense has better depth and breadth of talent, but have it to prove in terms of resiliency. But I believe the culture is there to maintain that standard. While it's true the defense had some breakdowns at times, they seemed to toe the line far more often than not when the offense was hanging them out to dry. Kept us in games.
  17. After OU he got all my respect. Guy is also 15 pounds bigger and more explosive per Nahlin. You couldn't tell it by the weights listed on the roster. Not saying it isn't true, or partially so, but I was particularly interested to see what kind of mass he put on over the off-season and he's listed at 194 lbs vs 200 lbs last season. Perhaps he has redistributed his mass. Or maybe they just need to update it. I certainly expected he would make improvements with another season of his body maturing and Torre Becton's supervision. I'm hoping he outperforms expectations and has a kick-ass season.
  18. Are you sure about that? Maybe she just needs to shave ...
  19. If Baxter can hold up under full-contact play, that will be huge. Regardless, there is tangible opportunity to incentivize Clark, Gibson and Simon.
  20. I am curious about his run blocking, even if there is an expectation of improved run blocking on the interior. As a unit though, OL remains the big ? for me. Behind that, who will RB2 and RB3 be? And can they protect the ball and their QB?
  21. First I've heard of him. Maybe he's miffed he couldn't make the cut at the flagship. An inferiority complex is consistent with trying to act like the smartest guy in the room.
