  1. Crush Bass 50. I picked it up on the cheap via CL. I am not a huge amp aficionado, but it has been amazing for me. Fender Rumble has been put in timeout ever since. Regarding the bass, can't recommend it enough. The Custom Shop 60's in it are really punchy but not excessively hot. I got lucky and bought at peak pandemic shut down from a store in NY that was needing to clear some gear. I was worried about how comfortable the slab body would be, but it has been fantastic. Comfortable and surprisingly light. There is an overpriced used one on Reverb now and Wildwood has these as a special edition that I think Fender produced for them. https://wildwoodguitars.com/product/LE05391/american-thin-skin-roasted-telecaster-bass-57/?cat_id=230 They have been there a while and they may be willing to cut a deal. They are satin finish rather than gloss nitro. The thin skin nitro is pretty delicate.
  2. Sorry about your Covid. #TeamOrange
  3. If it is anything like their bass necks, they are all the same profile shape (deep C, '62 C etc). The kiln roasting process may end up altering it a bit from the original cut (each one is different disclaimer), but it will still be a deep C. You are right that they won't let you pick a modern C or C to D shape. If you do decide to get one, sign up for the annual membership of Fender Play. You get 10% off all Fender products as a member. It will save you more than the cost of the membership even if you never use the lessons. I've been sitting on this one for a while. But I already have a couple of P-basses and kinda want to get a Thunderbird in the stable. Daphne Blue, Roasted neck and '63 pickups.
  4. Durango whitewater rafting on the Animas river. They have family friendly float trips with fun but not overwhelming rapids and a lot of swim time out of the raft on the half day trips. Silverton Railroad in Durango is pretty kid friendly too. There is a Double Tree right on the river in Durango and downtown main street is an easy walk for shopping, coffee and restaurants. Absolute Bakery and Cafe in Mancos when you head to Mesa Verde. Great food and place to pick up treats for the hiking. Bring a lot of water for Mesa Verde. Million Dollar Highway is a great drive.
  5. Has that stopped any of us before?
  6. More than I care to list, but everything from Benelli M2 to S&W 686+ and all points in between. Again, didn't intend to hijack the thread. PM me.
  7. That sucks BL. This guy is in DFW, but generally has a ton of parts if you are tracking anything down to repair it. http://www.4runnerhouse.com Joey owns and runs it and he is great to deal with.
  8. Thank Reagan1K. I registered and started looking at GB sold prices, fees etc. It is going to take awhile to pick through, but the completed item search engine really helps. It looks like my 10mm/.45 ammo may be worth more that the Glocks/Sigs/H&K's that goes with it.... breaking up ammo and magazines may be better than the package deal I was thinking with everything initially. Things have certainly changed while I have been out of the loop when you used to just throw in a box or 2 of ammo with the sale. Not to turn this into a sale post, but if any Surly DFW regulars are looking for a murder/felony free FTF, PM me. Would want to sell the guns with or before clearing out the ammo. I can list out what I have, but don't want to hijack this thread.
  9. Looking for a little help with determining firearm pricing and the best place to list/sell. Long story short: was super into collecting for a while, have been totally out of the game for a while other than range time to keep up my personal proficiency. I have several items I just need to clear out and put the funds to better use. It's all modern no vintage stuff. Gunbroker? I am open to suggestions that don't involve me getting murdered in a parking lot.
  10. The plaque for the alternates is down in the ladies room.
  11. https://www.musiciansfriend.com/stupid $299.99 today
  12. Sorry to hear that Sandman. My sincere condolences to you and your family.
  13. I don't name my basses. However, I did get word that they named me. Stone Hands.... Those fuckers.
  14. NAMM starting to crank out the new models for 2021. Never good for my wallet.
  15. Actually, he is going to Alamo, TX in the RGV to celebrate his wall. He is not going to "The Alamo" in San Antonio. However, given the whole Four Seasons mix up, who knows....
  16. That looks great AUTF! I am definitely on team Fender pastels. Regarding the belly cut, I thought all you guys just played like this to avoid any issues.
  17. I know nothing any of us say will help ease your suffering, but I am so sorry. It's absolutely terrible. Prayers to your entire family.
  18. Are you driving or flying? If flying, the best advice we ever received for Spring Break Skiing is Jackson Hole. Everyone driving sticks to Colorado/Utah/NM and they are stuffed with people. Jackson was not crowded at SB in any way. The instructors are incredible. No one in our family had skied before, but by the end of the second day they had us on some easy blues and feeling pretty good about it. Everyone goes to Jackson for the big stuff (Corbet's etc) up top, so the greens and blues were wide open and really fun. As a novice family, we had a great experience there. We stayed in town, had a ton of restaurants and shops to walk to and then shuttled to the slopes. If you don't want to ski the whole time, we did a snow shoe guided hike in the Tetons and took a snow cat out to Yellowstone for a couple of days to recover from skiing . We had Old Faithful literary to ourselves at the end of the day. Disclaimer: all of my advice is pre-Covid. Fly at your own risk. Get vaccinated. Or put this information to good use in 2022.
  19. If you go the leather route, consider going with natural vegetable tanned leather. It will age so much better over time. In the beginning, it may look pale, but over time it will darken up especially where your hand contacts the guard. Eventually, it will look bad ass. You can condition it and stick it out in the sun in the beginning to get it darker and not so pale at the start.
  20. You answered your own question right here. Go take some for a spin then post pics after purchase.
  21. NowThis?
  22. Replaced it with a 2019 version of the same thing. I wanted to get another manual transmission Taco before Toyota discontinues them forever. Long trips in the '93 had become a bit of a beating.
  23. Sold it this year. Kinda miss it at times.
  24. Holy crap. Heal up soon man!
