  1. Chad hit most of the eye (wallet) popping hits yesterday. I always enjoy some of the oddities.
  2. I was waffling, but I am totally going tomorrow. Thanks for the pics Mr. Fuck.
  3. I'll be there Saturday. If you could buy the bass I want before I get there, that would save me a lot of money. TIA
  4. fixed
  5. You need to cater to the professional crowd. Starbucks kiosk. Well appointed interior. Gear wall rental. "Handling fee" to have gear shipped and stored at the facility to keep the wife in the dark about new acquisitions. Offer relic services at the luthier shop on site... The possibilities are endless. No offense. I kinda fit in this demographic too....
  6. When they default, can we have a Storage Wars type bidding situation on the gear left behind in the rehearsal rooms?
  7. Sonic blue, mint and rosewood is about as good as it gets. FWIW, I am totally on board with gentle relics like yours. The heavy ones do get a bit extreme.
  8. Sadly, he lives in Alabama. Road trip? Guitar collection choices now coming into better focus.
  9. OK, so we will need a second R8 as a back up (just in case anything happens to the first R8). Then we need the HP as a player. I think for safety sake, we may need a back up player too. Just in case.
  10. Appreciate the input Chad and DougO. Maybe I will test out my vaccine effectiveness and give it a go Saturday morning.
  11. Amusing that even Gibson removes the robotuners. They have added a bunch of stuff recently. Alas, no basses. Pelham Blue is such a great color. The freaky Les Paul hologram would be deal breaker though.
  12. Has anyone been to the Dallas International Guitar Festival? I don't really want to hang out and watch the bands, just roam around the vendors and look for stuff I don't need. I have been to the Three Amigos show in Arlington and it is usually pretty fun. It this about the same or is it more concert focused? https://www.guitarshow.com
  13. The Rangers have taken a strong pro social distancing stance by putting a crappy product on the field. Natural spacing out will occur as fans avoid this team all year.
  14. 2 strings too many, but I do have a Daphne Blue thing in the works. I am learning patience grasshopper. #TeamFenderPastel
  15. Can one of you please buy this and post pics of it every week? TIA https://www.themusiczoo.com/products/fender-parallel-universe-tele-magico-transparent-daphne-blue?ct=t(shop-fender-4-5-21)&goal=0_63363c100e-216f802205-264034749&mc_cid=216f802205&mc_eid=0e77883836
  16. Again, it is not the government. It is private companies. This isn't a "papers please" situation. People volunteer to get extensive background checks to qualify for TSA pre-check and avoid the longer lines/shoe removal hassle at the airport. It's not required, but people give up personal information for a perceived benefit. Is that the airlines doing government bidding? Schools require up to date vaccinations to re-enroll. Kids on sports teams have to get a physical and release that information to play HS football. We voluntarily provide health information all of the time because the benefits outweigh the perceived risks/concerns. Why is this now, such a big deal? I'm sorry, but this just seems like such a weird hill to die on. If you don't want the vaccine, cool. If you want to get the vaccine but don't want anyone to know, cool. If I choose to do both, why do you care? I honestly can't imagine what my most despised politician would do with my vaccine status information that would cause me harm.
  17. Are you seriously in the field of medicine? This is not even in the same ballpark of discussion. If someone is HIV or Hep C positive, they should absolutely disclose that to anyone they could potentially infect before they engage in sexual activities/needle sharing etc. That's just basic common decency for a fellow human. It's also the law in several states. I am sure you would be plenty upset if one of your patients was HIV+ and purposely lied to you about their status after you got a needle stick or eye splash while caring for them. The HIPPA/personal health info arguments amuse me too. People can voluntarily allow anyone to have access to their healthcare information. If you allow the surgeon to talk with your wife about how the procedure went, it doesn't violate HIPPA. Showing your vaccine passport to avoid an unnecessary COVID test or quarantine with travel would be exactly that. Voluntary disclosure. People have the right to skip the vaccine. Businesses have the right to afford privileges to people who choose to become vaccinated and voluntarily disclose that information for said benefits. The Miami Heat just want to generate ticket sales. If a vaccine allows them to put 200 people in a section vs 30, go for it. If you don't want the vaccine or don't want your medical information disclosed, go sit in section 220 instead. Your body, your choice. Their arena, their choice. Now, if they do decide to allow a group sex event in the American Airlines Arena, they should probably ask for the HIV ID that you propose.
  18. Silicone sticky pads for the bottom to keep it from sliding? Maybe just a wood base with rubber feet? For just one pedal, I don't know that I would mess with a whole board. Or you could just go with:
  19. Please don't be an early April Fools joke. https://www.premierguitar.com/news/acorn-amps-f-face-fuzz
  20. I've been in the same boat looking at Stingers. Kia dealerships have really taken the standard crappy dealership experience to the next level. It's a compelling car, but if Kia corp doesn't get a handle on this, it is going to smother a bunch of potential sales. I have come to the conclusion that Carvana/Vroom may be the best way to go. Get a car still under warranty and then compare the Kia warranty vs Carvana's extended warranty if I have concerns beyond the initial milage. Both Carvana and Vroom can get you a quick and easy upfront offer on the V with a few pics and a few questions answered. They were miles above what I could get for my Wrangler trying to sell it myself locally or the trade in offers. There is a 2020 GT1 on Carvana now for $41,5XX less than 7K miles
  21. One final comment on size. You will get used to whatever you go with. A little bigger is way better than too small. You don’t want to look like Trump and his ladies watch on the golf course. That’s not a political comment. Regardless of your R or D status, that thing is an abomination.
