Barker is followed by Lovato, Aaliyah Moore, Madison Booker, Jak, and Laila Phelia
Also this should help keep 2025 Chavez from LSU
Barker would give us some pretty high end talent.

Sydney Carter also followed Vonleh from CU recently. So there's another potential name. She was at Baylor recently (could be the person Collen hinted at a commitment was incoming, but who knows)
6'3 junior, 14 ppg, 5.1 rpg, 1.1 bpg, 55% FG, 63% FT
Just so many good options that if Texas hits on at least 1, I'll be thrilled and see no reason we still won't open the season #2
Yup. Vonleh was a 1st team All Pac 12 player and she might be the 5th or 6th best big in the portal.
The more you look at who is in the portal we needed attrition. You have to upgrade when there are this many quality players available.

Well I'd think two have to be Larry and Pope. Johnson and Weaver coming off the bench would make the most sense I think, at least if we're talking November.
Mark is probably the top transfer we've added.
PG: Larry
SG: Mark
SF: Johnson
That's my guess. Then Weaver and Pope off the bench.

Yeah, there's no way that rule is a thing in women's basketball. There have already been 5 or 6 transfers from 1 SEC school to another SEC school.

Don’t expect Janiah Barker since she would have to sit out a year due to transferring within theSEC.
I don't think this rule is a thing anymore.
Several SEC players have already transferred to other SEC schools.
-
I forgot about Iriafen too. If we aren't trying to upgrade at the 4/5 we are doing this entirely wrong. There are 4 to 5 legit bigs in the portal. If you're serious about winning you go out and land one of these bigs.
I think that was definitely the plan though.

Same but she wants to start. Healthy Moore and Jones = off the bench for Gaston
Barker, Gardiner, and Beers are all better than anybody we've lost.
We just need to land one of these and then add another role player.

According to Kurt Bowels, a big has an official visit set up. Could be old info (Williams) or something new.
The Tennessee boards think Barker is Texas bound...
Barker would be nice.
She's a tweener that's capable of playing the 4 and 5. Also, she's really athletic so fits well in Vic's full-court pressure. There are several really good bigs in the portal. Barker, Gardiner, and Beers are all considered top 10 transfers.
-
I think I actually prefer Gardiner over Beers.
She's a tweener that can play the 4 and 5. Plus, her shooting splits are insane.

I don't know if the plan is for Carlton to play early and often, but sure sounds like it the way Vic raves about her physicality as a HS player.
Top 10 recruits aren't going anywhere to sit on the bench.
The thing with Carlton is her strength is finishing at the rim. Which was probably our biggest weakness last season.
-
It's going to be interesting who starts 1-3. We have 5 legit options. It's a good problem to have though.

Suck it aggy
They wanted Larry and Pope.

Our backcourt is loaded. Need a big now.

Pope to Texas. Our backcourt is pretty insane.
We are a big away from likely being pretty damn good.

I am reminded of this tweet.
More big news coming soon???
I think we are perfectly fine at PF.
I already envisioned Muhammad being 3rd on the chopping block at PF behind Moore and Carlton. What we really need is a 5 and then another tweener big that can give you a few minutes at the 4 and 5.

This is the first head scratcher for me. Vic must have something brewing, because we are super thin upfront now.
I don't think Muhammad is much of a head-scratcher.
Muhammad's minutes drastically declined at the end of the season once Moore was fully healthy and she won't start next season. She didn't play over 17 minutes in the last 9 games. Unfortunately, it's difficult to convince players like Muhammad to be a 15-18 minute role player when they can start at a lot of different schools.

According to Bobby this sounds like a decent player wanted star NIL money and Sark said no. Perhaps Sark said "No, that money is slotted for Tacario Davis". Welcome to the new world of college football
These are the types of decisions you have to make if you want to win.
It brings me back to Dillon Mitchell last year in men's basketball. I think it's a very similar situation. Decent player but not worth the type NIL he wants and there are probably pretty big upgrades out there.

Or risk getting killed on ball screen actions repeatedly throughout the game.
This is the biggest issue with Avila. I don't know how he can defend on ball screen actions against better athletes. This is why Groves was almost unplayable at times at OU.
Teams. at the P5 level, would put Avila in ball screen action until he proves that he's capable of defending it.

Per Bobby as of last night no more starters are expected to enter. Brooks was the only one he's heard thus far.
I know we are splitting hairs here but I don't know how anyone could consider Brooks a guaranteed starter after the Spring game.

OU is pursuing the ORST assistant who coaches the post players. They are all in on Beers
Beers ending up at OU over UCONN or South Carolina is a win for us IMO.
Those two teams are our biggest competition for a title next year.
-
I guess Muhammad could still transfer but keeping her and Holle would be such a huge win. Both those players could start for a lot of teams.
Holle was playing like an all-conference player at the end of last season and she's going to come off the bench in all likelihood. The biggest issue next year is going to be figuring out minutes distribution and who starts.
-
1-3 next year.
PG (Harmon): All American Honorable Mention, Big 12 defensive player of the year, and First Team All Big 12 in '22-23 before injury.
SG (Phelia): First Team All Big 10 this past season.
SF (Booker): All-American and Big 12 player of the year this past season.
That's pretty damn salty.

Huge get.
Just need a big now and we are loaded.

Hunter keeps lucking into some incredible situations.
He's once again going to be surrounded by two very good college guards in Haggerty and Rogers. I'm not even sure Hunter will start.
