  1. Probation and parole are pretty much the same thing at the federal level. There is no parole, only "supervised release" which is ran by probation officers. In most states, though, probation is pre prison and parole is post
  2. Except slavery is legal. And there's no minimum wage. And you never have the chance to become a citizen again, and your passport has an "f" number. You can't fully compete for jobs no matter what education and experience you have... But other than that
  3. Except you never have paid your debt. That's the only flaw
  4. That went exactly how i expected it to after seeing the 2 combatants and their fight style Yeah. Just look at the footwork, and the story tells itself
  5. Shouldn't this thread be called 'random thoughts that don't warrant a thread, thread?'
  6. I thought Colorado just passed a red flag law. Is that tied up in the courts?
  7. The fucking 3 major credit agencies, and every fucking bank in the world can't guard our information. And they want to force it on us? Fuck me.
  8. Yang has already been on Fox multiple times
  9. I've heard him talk. He says lots of neat nothing.
  10. Considering Trump vs Pete at this moment, we have the "he talks just like me do" candidate vs the "he talks sooooo dreaaaaamyyy" candidate.
  11. And that's why we're doomed
  12. And yet he's the only one talking about things that are literally at our doorstep, the actual causes of the Trump presidency, and solutions. Sure, seems like a healthy opinion
  13. Yang's CNN town hall
  14. One can only hope.
  15. He has none. He's got lots and lots of speeches, though
  16. Here's the whole thing . It's long, but he's so sharp, it doesn't seem like it. Amazing guy.

    Participation rates are, too.
  18. By the way
  19. I think that the coming changes in capitalism will be good ones if the nation, and its corporations, will just accept the changes. Human-centered capitalism will hopefully bring about changes to the thought processes of everyone in this country. I think businesses should, at some point, start to understand that if everyone is broke, no one buys shit. Yang wants to change the focus of capitalism, which is something that needs to happen since there is an inherent cruelty in it that should be weeded out. Yes, businesses could start acting as if the dividend was a wage offset, and they'd probably try, seeing as how they are mostly morally bankrupt entities. If course, the government could also become more involved in pay structures if that's the case, since regulation is the only answer to corporate overreach. Corporations are going to then complain of regulation, even though they would have caused, yet again, the need for it. That's the pessimistic view. Of course, if corporations take the stakeholder view, and use metrics such as triple bottom line, and actually become good corporate citizens, things don't have to be that way. The people could always just revolt and kill their corporate masters. I'd be down for that.
  20. I just finished watching it. I'm not surprised that Shapiro was in agreement. It's hard to not be in agreement with actual common sense. He's still the only politician that checks all the boxes for me.
  21. I mean, you can act like you don't get off on violence or intimidation, but this seems like you do... Clearly I'm not judging you for it, but it's the same description of feelings that mob guys get when they take their revenge. There's little that sets us apart outside of the fact that your methods are state-sanctioned
  22. Maybe the guy that took your shit just looked at your account? I mean, you have a billing address? You have any instructions on your account that state that you're out of the country? You ever answer why you are getting a unit to someone? Wife ever tell staff you're moving out of the country? I know that you think that it's identifiable that you rarely entered the unit, but I would tend to think that that's a much more difficult way to find good units to hit. Most people talk about themselves, and the info is what is used against them.
  23. I wonder... What about the problem of ex-cons? Why should they be fucked for life if they 'pay their debt to society?'
  24. He's definitely the smartest guy in the race. Here's a data guy. No one else has a policy that will deal with the coming onslaught of the tech world. I don't know how you all see it, but automation, the shitty metrics we use, and the fact that no one else is even seeing the real problems coming, well, neglect him at your peril. I get it, his road to the White House is unlikely, but we're going to get nothing but more of the same from any other candidate. Then we're going to go through a few years of crushing recession, all while GDP is going to be telling us we're fine. This country is going to fuck itself. And hopefully I'll be able to survive
  25. That'd be cool. I can't bring myself to sub to Shapiro, I'd hate that playlist He's a very interesting candidate. A true numbers guy and an actual economist. He's checking all my boxes so far, for sure
