  1. That was off the table once USC/UCLA left. Legislatively guaranteed playoff spots wont be needed when there are 3 or 4 major conferences. Even if the stay at 4 the Big 10 and SEC will get 3 of those spots and 7 or more with a 12+ team playoff.
  2. In my opinion this is a race to 20 for the power 5 leagues with the Big 10 and SEC already at 14+2 on the way. SEC- If they can get ND to say yes (highly unlikely) then adding Clemson, FSU, and Miami would be the best case scenario. When the Big 10 finally takes ND then adding those 3 and a back fill of the biggest remaining brand would still be a net positive. Big 10- Once ND joins they'll have 17 committed and could either add the two Virginias and BC/Syracuse/Pitt or take Stanford and Cal and a wild card. ACC- If they have enough members after getting poached by the Big 10 and SEC they could look to add WVU and make a run at the Kansas schools when the Big 12 adds half the Pac. The ACC will have to fight to stay alive but they're are enough decent G5 names they can add to stay in the 15ish member range Big 12- If they add those Pac schools I would count WVU as the biggest flight risk to the ACC so lets say they are sitting on 17 schools. Adding SMU, Memphis, and a team like Boise would get them to 20 assuming the Kansas schools stay put. PAC 12/MWC- After the Big 10/12 run through the PAC it looks like there are 4 schools remaining without a home, Stanford, Cal, Oregon State, and Washington State. If the PAC 12 wants to stay alive then they will have to merge with the MWC and finally get to use the Pac 16 name.
  3. If the BIG 10 wanted Stanford and Cal they would have gotten calls already. Stanford will have to go to the big 12 or go independent to stay out of the MWC consuming all of the Cali/PNW schools that are on the Pac 12 back burners
  4. Wonder if they came fir them and a&m hard hence the light recruiting results so far for both.
  5. Its more than that. At smaller programs high profile players usually take advice from their coaches on where to go. After the midweek and regional comments made by their coach about Pierce it makes perfect sense that he would push for Skenes to come here
  6. Rumors starting to swirl that USC and UCLA may be moving to the Big 10. Burton retweeted the first and comments are mentioning the rumors
  7. Yeah mid July just feels like when we will hear something.
  8. Looking at the five stars is it Hicks, Matayo Uiagalelei or Hill a second time? Those seem to be the only ones I remember us being mentioned for in the last 6 months
  9. He's got the hand size to match that description
  10. By major I mean Power 5 in the south or even a solid mid major in the south. Rice just did it and you don't think a Baylor or Kentucky would hire Tulo with his resume? Oregon State is the Pac 12 anomaly amd they'll only continue to fall behind the other conferences in the arms race. I also don't see the west coast elites dropping NIL on baseball like all the south is.
  11. Feels like cook is waiting until the rest of the guys commit and wants to be the one to cap it off by then end of the night.
  12. Good catch.
  13. Let's stop acting like USC or any pac 12 job in general is a huge deal in baseball. The UCSB coach just told them no as well. Tulo played in the biggest stadiums and in front of the biggest crowds for a decade then coached at the premiere baseball school in the country for 3. Why would he want to play in front of 500 people every night when he can take time off and wait for a major HC job in the south with his resume? Here is where he would be coaching at home and traveling to in the pac 12. Meanwhile he has been coaching in stadiums like this against Big 12 and SEC play.
  14. Sounds like he wants a year off to wait for a more competitive job to open. And that assistant spot sounds ripe for a 2nd pitching coach that can focus solely on pitchers and not recruiting.
  15. Wish one of these private schools in Texas would schedule a game in Dallas or even something in ETX against Isadore. That may be the most attended non playoff game of the year if so.
  16. Then his offenses did this to them while at Bama
  17. By far the funniest thing I heard yesterday came from an aggie friend who told me that Arch was a great get but that Texas did not have the money to get the #1 overall class.
  18. That's all the big ones spent their time on yesterday. They are already rooting for this to fail.
  19. Feel like he'll be the best player of this draft wherever he goes
  20. It look longer than 14 days but a .333 batting average isn't terrible
