Advertising isn't your strong point. Orlando is calling.

So far Big Red > Michael Dell
But I believe in your future. One that sees the Dallas Cowboys brand suffering. LOL
Says the sooner hanging out on a Longhorn forum.

That's great, being that he's clearly been spending none of it on your players. Cletus with 250k from Opelika means more in the recruiting game.
He may be in the future. NIL is a game changer. At least OU has Big Red Motors.

Those numbers looked pretty weak compared to what SEC is paying. Gonna have to step it up more than that.
Michael Dell has more $$ than some South Eastern States.

The larger point being that the University of Texas is our pro franchise. With the current and projected population of Austin, are there any other cities that can push that narrative?
Largest cities without a pro sports franchise (closest school: city - population):
5) UofArizona: Tucson, AZ - 503k
4) UofNM: Albuquerque, NM - 559k
3) Louisville: Louisville, KY - 616k
2) UTEP: El Paso, TX - 683k
1) Texas: Austin, TX - 964k
The University of Texas is THE Pro franchise of Texas. The Cowboys are a dying brand with the Jones at the helm. Jerry continues to suck the life out of that team every time the broadcasts show his crypt keeper mug. CDC has a large task in front of him. Don't fuck it up.

STOP IGNORING THE BEST NEWS OF THE DAY
This shit means they have a plan on how to pitch monetizing NLI at Texas, and early data says that Austin is the strongest market for college personalities in the country. Big fucking deal.
This will be devastating in recruiting. Can't wait. Get the word out! I can't wait to see the opposing media and fans media melt down over this. We have to find a way to spread this to all players.

Dude, there are people out there advocating for firing Herman if he goes 9-3. Yet, we have kept Shaka Smart around for how many years? He has truly stunk up the place.

Should we fire Herman if he goes 9-3 and ends up in the Sugar Bowl vs Florida?

TCU. OU. tOSU. LSU. aggy. Nebraska. Auburn. Florida. Penn State. <--- here's a list of schools that I am aware of that have pushed a narrative this off-season that Tom Herman is on the hot seat and that this is very likely his last. The money to hire a new staff has been positioned as a "last ditch effort to right the ship". Fatterson has leveraged his working relationship with CDC as a point of emphasis. "Trust me, I KNOW what's going on down in Austin, etc ..." and there is simply no clear counter that Herman or his staff can offer.
There are several things that CDC could've done and said at this point to assuage those rumors. He has not. It appears that he's purposely avoiding the entire situation because of the amount of backlash and vitriol associated with his fumbling of the basketball situations. Between the lack of action against an abject failure in Shaka to clear and decisive action against Aston for not getting the Baylor monkey off her back, to the lack of communication about the football program's leadership he has been pretty disastrous and speaks to the fact that I don't think he understands this side of his job and more importantly what it means to be "Texas" as a brand. He's done a remarkable job improving the gameday atmosphere for football, etc ... truly outstanding work, but he looks way out of his depth trying to handle the basketball and football programs right now and is a detriment to both.
Agree, CDC is not helping Herman who has built a pretty nice team. We finally have depth and a great opportunity to win the B12. Who replaces Herman if we go 9-3? Please don't tell me we go for another PC hire. We've had enough of Shaka Smart. He is a disaster. I think that Herman is getting the shaft compared to other privileged coaches at Texas. If we fire Herman for 9-3, good luck.

OSU, Alabama, Tennessee, Georgia, Oregon all have the same thing in common.
You left out Auburn?!?! How could you?
Yes, building a roster is the beginning. We are starting to get some solid depth. I will take a 21-22 year old 3 star against most 18-19 year old higher rated players as long as they have been coached well and have been in a solid S&C program for 3-4 years.

With all the draft pick nonsense going around, I pulled some info and plotted some trend lines for some perspective......
This is the # of Texas players taken in the draft per year since 1938.
This is a scatter plot of winning % per year with trend line since 1893. The red dots are a 5 year moving average. Can you see the cycles?
Now might be a good time to get on the Texas bus. Tunmise?

Ya, I was there beginning 1990 and I graduated in 1994. No big deal. Your assumption depends on the revenue garnered from football which the University has become very accustom to having remaining constant. If rev from tuition were to drop, the revenue from football would be all the more valuable. If at the same time, paying players becomes legal through namesake ownership and Texas begins to fall behind then I think your picture of the University changes. I would guarantee that the future number of students being on campus is going to decrease for a multitude of reasons. Football revenue is going to be very important going forward and winning is the key. The egg heads better fucking figure this out sooner rather than later. Aren't layoffs currently the rage on campus? This will continue.

lulz at the idea that Texas and its boosters are the only school capable of ponying up $8.5 million a year to pay each football player $100K. Plenty of schools and their boosters are capable of paying multiples of that. Even though Texas is theoretically capable of paying more than most schools, the reality is that philosophically we will not lead the charge down that path.
Let's get it on. If CDC fails to get this going, he'll get canned. It's simple. Texas has a lot of cash.... more than the smallish states of the sec and b1g. Belmont needs to decrease while the athletic department increases.
-
Exactly. If this happens, we win. I would only add that the school (Exes Foundation) recruit businesses to take care of the players. A warm hand off with some "guidelines". Otherwise, stay out of it.

What percent of 4/5 stars has Herman sent to the league in the last 5 years?
Sent from my iPhone using TapatalkHerman thread on the football board. ------------> That way. There are some guys in here that do a damn fine job of documenting recruiting. They don't need you in here mucking it up.

No one that goes to tOSU gives a shit about winning the playoffs. They just want to play in the NFL. In fact, I would say that most players in college football see it as an apprenticeship to the NFL as opposed to for glory. When you pay coaches millions of dollars to coach games, I think the players could give 2 shits for the most part for the university.
And that's too bad. I would compare college football to the nfl as a fine shot of tequila vs jerry pissing on one's face.

Yes. Using the school name/logo/likeness For individual endorsements hasn’t been on the table since this debate started. As it shouldn’t be.
as was discussed on previous pages, many athletes will find out their name/likeness is worthless without the school affiliation. The current Texas roster doesn’t have 10 marque players who will command personal endorsements. It’s closer to 2. This covers the 1% of college football players who are actually “underpaid”.
Ok, why not arrange with boosters the max payment for every player? If Texas is winning, is the advertisement value not greater? I am sure that there are some Texas Alumni/boosters that want to see us to regain per-scholarship limit dominance.

Like going undefeated in the regular season, winning your conference for like the 75th year in a row, and going to the playoffs? I’d consider that “winning shit”fOSU is 2-2 in the playoff. The 2 wins came with Herman as the OC. Ya, they have won a lot in the B1G but it's still the B1G. If I am TH, that's my response. Hopefully we get them in the playoff. I would love to see the matchup. They have no competition in the B1G.

If there was ever a ready made gig, the fOSU gig was it. The current dude didn't build it. It's been a work in progress since the cardigan dude..... who got caught and fired......
Can we stick to recruiting info? The TH bashing is on the football board.
