Wow.  Good luck. I got some of the stuff you recommended upstream in this thread but I am not infected AFIAK and am wondering if I should hold off until I am.  Seems like a lot of stuff that is being tested to help (ARBs, etc) might also make it easier to get. Also a little scared to take these things I know nothing about regarding side effects, etc.

I tried small amounts to make sure that I wasn't allergic.  I had the stuff for 2 weeks before I caught it.  I knew there was no way we were going to stop it from spreading.  The studies I posted were from doctors in HK.  If it was from some mommy website screaming about gluten and vaccines, well hard pass.  The scoffers haven't read the study or don't understand it.

    Did you get tested?

In Ft Worth tests are only available to the people at risk and first responders.  Regardless, the sick here are plotted all over the Tarrant Co map....  It's spreading.  I had Flu A six weeks ago for sure.  It's the only thing possible that met the symptoms.  My brother had the squirts for 3 days and then went into major shutdown.  Extreme fatigue.  We hung out on a Saturday which was his day 1 of symptoms.  Major squirts.  Downhill from there.  Mine kicked on Tuesday, 3 days.  When you get it and have symptoms, you won't need a test to confirm.

I will say this.  If you are youngish and healthy, don't fear it.  Herd immunity is real and by having immunity, you protect the vulnerable by killing it via your immunity and not passing it on.  It's going to be a long road.

    Isatis Extract

It's real.  Nothing could stink that bad and not be crap.  It's also Chinese so I don't own it.

My spouse had to use his inhaler last night. I'm really worried about his lungs since he is required to go to work and we have positive community spread COVID cases. I would like to reboot 2020 please.

The positive side to allergies is that people with allergies have very active immune systems.  I rotate clariten and zyrtec every 12 hours and do flonase at night so I can sleep.  It works.

It's bad for sure.  I have developed cedar, ragweed, and now oak allergies.  The only relief I get is when temps are 97+.  Sigh

That would be nice, but if Herman shits the bed, and by that I mean wins 8 or less games next year, regardless of whether he stays or gets fired, it would be pretty ridiculous to expect them to come here/be upset they go elsewhere, UT legacies or not.

They don’t owe it to UT to come to school here in spite of a mountain of evidence that they won’t be fully developed or get to compete at the highest level. Herman needs to prove that they’ll get those opportunities at UT by winning in 2020.

If Herman can't win the Big12 next year,  I don't think it will happen for him.  Can he still win 8-10 games on average?  Yes but he will be more Mack Brown without Vince Young than Nick Saban at Bama.

I think this is solid effort, but I still believe that Jude Law played the role so well that it’s kind of pointless for anyone else to give it another go.

Gracias Senor.  I'm not faking but you will see.  This stuff is MUCH MORE wide spread than they are speculating.  It's everywhere now.  It really isn't that bad.  You could probably skip all the hippie herbs and go straight for the 1000 mg of vitamin C and go to work the next day.  (NOT ADVISED THOUGHH).

Was at my brothers house this past Saturday in Ft Worth.  He has had the squirts for 4 days and generally feels weak.  Many cases in Tarrant Co and they are spread all around where he lives.  His wife has been sleeping day and night for 2 days as well.  I developed headache and sore throat today.  I also feel dizzy and weak, no fever.  I have burning in the throat but I also have cedar allergies but this is different.  I had flu A a month ago.  I started taking the compounds that I recommended earlier in the thread.  I'll report back later.  Tired.

I feel much better this morning.  Yesterday when the sypmtoms hit I did the following:

Buplerum Root 30 drops per day  (3cl Protease) Inhibitor

Indigo Root 25 drops (3cl Protease)

Isatis Root & Leaf extract (1000 mg) protease

    Myricetin (600 mg) helicase

Lots of lemon water (actual squeezed lemon) protease inhibitor

Hyudata Water Extract 20 drops (polymerase inhibitor)

    Emergen C 1000mg

As I said I feel much much better.  Weird sleep but good.

If I had to rate this, I would say the headache compared to caffeine withdrawal, sore throat to allergies/strep, and fatigue to completing a 5-10k run.

Sister in law is still in bed going on 4th day.  Should go to doctor but stubborn.  I am relatively healthy and broke the Flu A fever in 3-4 days a month ago.  I am not 100% as the above symptoms still persist but are much less severe.  Overall this is a 3 out of 10 because of headache and sore throat.  I would rate a common cold at a 1.  Flu A at a 6 and passing a gall stone at a 10.  I have passed too many to count.  I have low HDL cholesterol which is a genetic deal so I have to boost the HDL which I have been doing and the stones have gone away.  I will be passing my hippie herbs to my elderly parents tomorrow because I doubt I will still need them.  They probably won't take them because they are stubborn mules.

Umm, that's usually what they do?  Less tax, more profit, buyback shares.

If you are talking leveraged share repurchase, where debt is incurred, that's another critter.  But they pay a balance sheet penalty for that.

Normal share buybacks are accomplished with earnings.

Actually, they have been borrowing from the banks to buyback stock.  That's why they need a bailout.

  10. 5 minutes ago, TwiceHorn said:

It's been happening forever.  Stock buy backs have occurred for as long as there have been corporations.  Depending on how it's executed, it can be like a dividend.  There's nothing inherently corrupt about it.

They received quite a bit of attention after the tax cut because it seems like a lot of corps did that with the windfall.

But the problem is not share repurchases, per se.  It's officers and directors unduly concerned with the stock price at the expense of other considerations.  And that is manifested in many ways other than stock buybacks.

Let them buyback stock with profits.

  11. It seems that over the centuries real shooting wars break out during times of financial/pandemic crises.  I see the ME as a true hotspot.  The situation with Russia and Turkey is setting up to be bad.  Anyone with inside info.?

I think we can escape the inherent political discussion baked into this and just discuss freely/economically...what exactly was the strategy during a massive bull-market run-up of individual equity issues, to leverage yourself without a commensurate earnings growth trajectory, with which to buy back your own stock...to what ends?

Or is this when we finally discover what staying public serves one purpose above all others...to get bailout money/cheap credit in times like this (and so many before it)?

I'll never understand American's fascination with being publicly traded?  Oh right yeah...access to capital.  Because that's impossible otherwise, right?

It's pure greed regardless of political affiliation.  Most of these corporate leaders have no moral compass.  They exist for the quickest route to riches without strings attached.  We need to make them pay.

cuz that gravy train is going to be derailed?

They want to disappear with the cash like a fart in the wind.  They don't want the blame for the bailouts.  They have been hollowing out these corporations for 10 years.

  14. We need to address the corporate buybacks that have been used to pay CEO bonuses for the last 10 years.  Many of these same CEO's have been retiring in the last 3 months.  Why would that be?

    You mean Freedom Payments?

    /NO CR

/lol at our government Bc “bailout” is a bad word

I have the sinking feeling that anyone under the age of 55 is never going to be able to retire.  We are going to be paying off this "public" debt til they dump us in a grave.

  16. I don't want this to be political.  I would consider myself more conservative and would like to discuss the moral hazard of bailing out corporations that have been buying back stock with debt for a decade.  Many corporations will want to receive a government bailout while purchasing company stock for the purpose of paying large bonuses to company executives.  This is a moral hazard and these companies should not receive a bailout.  These executives should be jailed for corruption in my opinion.  Get ready because this is about to happen.  Many of these CEO's were "retiring" in January.  Hmmmm.....

I work for a medium sized mechanical contractor and it’s pretty unnerving what is going on.

No one really knows what will happen with the housing industry and new starts. Austin was on pace to blow out permits this year but we are already hearing from builders that they expect to slow significantly over the next couple of months.

The length of time is obviously going to be the main issue for everyone.

I graduated from Texas in 94.  I started as a construction superintendent the day after I graduated.  I started my home building business in 2006.  I hoard cash.  I have a small house and old vehicle but they are paid off.  Well, the house has 50k yet to go but I refinanced a year ago so the payment is $220 a month.  My businesses are paid in cash but the margins are getting razor thin.  At this point I am dumping inventory and waiting for costs to collapse.  Sucks.
