In a thread chock full of hysterical, and I mean hysterical, shit being posted, this is the one that truly had me bust out laughing. Holy fucking shit. "if China survives". Hahahahahahahahaha. You mean that 5,000+ year old place that has survived every civilized thing ever to have occurred on this planet? You think those guys might have an iffy shot of survival? Outstanding.

No you dumbfuck... of course the people will be there.  I am talking economically as well as their standing as the number 2 economy in the world.  This could re establish the manufacturing base in many western nations.  As soon as the flow of cheap shit stops or is disabled, you will understand.

Did China stop reporting? Their numbers have seemed pretty flat the last few days. Also, looking at the mortality rate now for the rest of the world - we are at 1.5%. I think a lot of this is due to underestimating the number of infected in places with outbreaks. We had been at 0.3% for the last month.

Great observation.  They gave up.  They only report that the situation is "grim". S. Korea and Italy are next in the give up queue.

My family with the acreage out west let me know last night they are fully stocked with food, meds, and more ammo and asked when we are arriving with their grandson. I said once a known surly poster (excluding Raydog) is infected we are there.

Ya, my family has a place in Crowell for hunting but they are still in denial at this point.  They think this is a Chinese issue.

yep. people need to work to pay mortgages and rent. people need food in the stores and it doesn't get there on its own.

I know it sounds harsh but at some level perhaps its better for the world to let this burn through the population. Any of us could be part of the unlucky. And I mean this sentiment in context that if this hangs around long enough, any precautions may not ultimately matter.  The current precautions seem more about buying time to find treatment or vaccine options.

We are at the point of no return.  Time to get healthy/boost immune system and come to terms with your form of afterlife.

  5. Scratch the article I posted earlier.  This virus is different than the one studied in the paper I posted, at least partially.

This current version is highly infectious.  If you have any HIV-1 inhibitor drugs handy, you are sitting on a gold mine.  I have done some additional research and there are no naturally occurring compounds that can work as an inhibitor against HIV/Ebola.  Now it's up to your immune system.

How does a virus take the worst parts of Sars/Corona virus and marry it with the infectiousness of HIV/Ebola?  Something isn't right here.

Where the hell do you get Rhinolophidae extract?

Some of the stuff listed is poisonous.  It won't be available.  I think I left one off but that's a pretty good list.  It would also be beneficial to start going over some things that boost the immune system.  These natural inhibitors are probably going to be key in killing the infection early.

    1. Sleep  (exercise makes me tired, so do it as well but the gym may not be a good place soon).

    2. Diet, fruits and vegetables duh.

    3. There are some loca herb options like ecinacea that potentially boost white blood cell counts.

Thank me later.  Beer at Scholz's and 50 yard line tickets to the next aggy beat down.

Have you ever taken a few minutes and watched people who frequent gas stations in the US?  I don't hold out much hope.

The correct answer is old Austin dies every single year.

For me Austin at its greatest lasted from 91-96 when I went to UT. Dollar beers, dollar shots, cheap food,  cheap tuition, no cover ever, and many a night watching music at black cat, jack and coke and playing pool at hondos, tequila shots at touche’s, flaming Dr Pepper and Jell-O shots at daiquiri factory, great shows at Liberty lunch, etc. Those days are gone and will never return. Just like your greatest days in Austin are gone and are never to return.

A city can stagnate and die off or it can move on. Austin has always chosen the latter.

I was there 90-94.  I grew up in a small farm town outside Ft.  Worth.  I was the kid in high school with the best fake ID so I was the one nominated to pool all the weeks lunch money and buy beer for Friday night.  When I arrived in Austin, it was a dream come true.  It was cheap, fun, and most of the kids were friendly.  I had sooo many fun times there.  When I graduated, I didn't think twice about Austin as a city or West Campus, etc....  It will always be a place frozen in time in my mind.  It has changed greatly over the years as I only get back once every 24 to 36 months.  A lot is different.  I miss the old way but most of Texas is different.  Texas is growing exponentially.

Nope. Wouldn’t help. It’s the new normal.

We need a neutron bomb to keep the buildings but remove the millionaire losers, and those that enable this styrofoam strategy .

Clean slate.I would rather take our chances with a bunch of randomly selected homeless people that the established cleptocracy that is Bellmont today.

This is the reason I won't buy season tickets to any sport.  I am much happier grinding for the cheapest seat available and moving up.  They give us the same product so what do I care.
