That dude also raged for a year that Deandre Moore was bread and a spare and it seems like Moore is complete opposite.

He's part of the recruiting message board hive mind that sees everything through that lens with years of moldy buildup in his brain. He's also incredibly annoying. He's the type of guy that thought Brian Kelly hire would fail because of "cultural fit" before the guy even coached a game.

I think they're in for a rude awakening. He's a good prospect, but the ride is going to be up and down. I watched the LSU game, and I saw his WR Muhammad make more contested catches than the UT WRs did all year.
Also, I rewatched the UT vs Washington Highlights, and holy shit there was a lot of meat left on the bone in the passing game. Drops, drops, drops. We're going to be so much better if Quinn and the WRs are just a little more efficienct.

That's why Jimbo rallied the "NIL" troops to keep Max Johnson for another season

Oooh boy. That's even better. Jimbo and Petrino rubbing each other the wrong way while yo-yo-ing Weigman and Max Johnson. I'm sure the fanbase will be patient.

This all started with talent comps from this upcoming offense to 2008/09, not Colt’s freshman year. I’m excited to see improvement in our passing game, but its way too soon to crown our receivers (an average unit in 2022 and sometimes a weakness) or Ewers. Neither would I write them off.

We should probably freeze this thread until the end of the season and then all agree to come back and discuss in a reasonable manner when we have all the information. What is everyone doing on December 20th? Maybe around 3pm central?

Maguire seems to have an outsized obsession with beating us.

Someone should tell him he's going to need to get a promotion soon if he wants to keep playing us.

Maguire strikes me as Chris Beard. He has us in his crosshairs because it benefits him and ingratiates him to his fanbase. But he's also smart enough to take our head coaching job at the drop of a hat if it were ever offered.

can you write me a csi miami one-liner having to do with a robot?

    ChatGPT

    Sure, here's a one-liner for you:

"I guess this robot thought it was smarter than us, but it didn't calculate one thing - the long arm of the law." - Horatio Caine, CSI: Miami.

    Brilliant.

I always assumed AI would come for lawyers before it came for the artists and the performers. Seems like boring writing would be the first victim.

Chatbots can write scripts.  Bland, safe, algorithm-driven scripts.  Which is 90% of the shlock Hollywood makes today.

Gonna take real live people to make the new next Top Gun or the Matrix. Of course we get a movie like that every 5 years.  In between it's Marvel movies and Gerard Butler flicks.

While setting your cynicism aside, I don't think this strike has anything to do with studios not wanting to pay humans on the 10 blockbuster franchises they produce each year. Want to talk about a drop in the bucket? Those movies are formulaic by design, so the studios are getting exactly what they want for a global audience. Thank God Tom Cruise has enough weight to throw around at Paramount.

i was on a zoom on thursday with some folks who know way more than me and they set the over/under at halloween.

It'll be interesting to see how the DGA and SAG negotiations go. Those will put a lot of pressure on both sides if they're able to work things out.

Seems like the strike could be huge for non-union Youtube content creators.

I do feel like one thing that is lost in this is the concept of skilled labor. Writing, directing, acting, editing are actually very difficult things to be good at. The people striking are some of the top talent in the world. It's easy to diminish their value if you're not aware how movies, tv, etc. are made. This is not a case where a Chatbot or 25 year old influencer can just step in and fill the void.

  10. The showrunner on my current show is holding the line and not coming in even though the majority of his duties at this point are "producing." Sound mixes, VFX review, etc. I think if others in Hollywood follow suit, that will help because it will actually stall shows even if they have scripts.

as far as the economics behind it, you can say everyone is slashing for the shareholders, and for tech, that's definitely true.  but what's killing pretty much the entire business goes no farther than one irrefutable fact - people aren't going to the movies like they used to.  movies drive everything and the money trickles down.  when paramount can't release 8-12 movies a year, then mtv can't produce tv shows.  it's that simple, and there's only a handful of corporations that own all of it.

Sounds like this summer has an impressive slate of blockbusters. I have a vested interest in all of this, but I'm optimistic that better options will help the box office. Here's hoping.
