Collins is a big body with good athleticism, who also happens to not be a very good player right now. He definitely has the measurables to be good, but he currently looks like Tarzan and plays like Jane. He needs to come back to school next year and dedicate himself if he intends to be a professional football player.
I am not knocking Kitan or Robinson, but there are better players who also can/do play special teams. Draftin Robinson to play punt block or Crawford to be a gunner is a waste of a draft pick.
Its exactly what 6th and 7th round picks are used for. Robinson is a high-level special teams player who also has value in the passing game - he is getting drafted.

Should be noted that Anthony Maddox is the older brother of a top 100 prospect in the class of 2025 - so its kind of like the aggy just lost out on two recruits:

Thankfully nothing has changed in the NFL in .... *checks notes* ... 30 years.
An increased emphasis on the importance of special teams?

For those who didn't memorize state flags as a kid - that's Colorado's state flag.
*He deleted it - he posted a gif of the Colorado state flag - presumably to indicate a Colorado visit?

Their skillet queso is edible? Everything on their menu sounds like a good idea and ultimately under delivers...
No. I moved to a place where queso doesn't exist and I still won't drag my ass to Chilis to eat that abomination. I don't know what happened - I swear when I was younger I enjoyed it, but either their 'recipe' changed or I developed self-respect.

He didn't say he was on a visit
No. It was implied. They had pinned Gerry’s thread about the scheduled visit.
Nahlin has been at this job for a long time and knows how to cover his ass. What was the point of the ‘update’ otherwise? If he knew the visit wasn’t happening why not report that the time of the ‘update’?

Our 9.95ers are dumb as hell.
And why the hell would this need to be a secret anyways. Wells is openly in the portal and openly taking visits. Its possible Texas is the one who wanted to keep the visit secret.

It’s one thing to report a visit is going to happen before the fact - quite another to report the visit is going great when it’s not even happening.

I personally think that Sweat will go in the first half of the 1st round. He will be one of the first 16 draft picks in the 2024 NFL Draft.
The guy is is 6’4” 362 lbs (give or take), bounces around like a cat at times and is about as high of a character eval as you could possibly want.
It isn’t like he is a kicker/ punter or a fullback. He is a vital cog in every defense’s play.
QBs, EDGEs, LTs, and maybe the special WR/CB are going to go ahead of a top DT, usually, but Sweat can come in and start Day 1. He can’t play every snap, but DTs rarely do anymore.
I have no clue why most mock drafts don’t have him as a Day 1 pick at the moment.
My hill 👆
FWIW - Sweat admitted that the feedback he received last year was he was ‘too much of a party animal’. Even if it’s no longer an issue - it was a year ago.

A thread on texags is saying Evan Stewart's social media posts location is DFW while they are practicing at the same time.
I don’t think it’s any surprise he’s not with the team. He gave up on the end of the season - did they think he was going to practice/play in their bowl?

What am I missing here?
Couldn't get playing time at Georgia and wasn't even a full time starter for an atrocious offense like Miss State. 1 reception for 18 yards at Miss State. Maybe he can block.
If slightly below average blocker is what they're striving for.

he's been committed to Alabama for like 14 months and change. if he wanted to re-class and enroll at Bama it would have been the easiest thing ever and he could have done it and then dropped straight into bowl practices.
...but he didn't. which is a glimmer of hope that didn't exist before he announced his OV locations.
I don't think he reclassified such that he is a 2024 early enrollee. He's likely a summer enrollee, no?

Kay would make a ton of sense, we have been weaker in Houston recruiting the last few seasons and he would probably fix that.
Gerry / Bobby / Someone said that Sark prioritizes Power 5 coaching experience and that they didn’t think Kay would be a candidate.

Nahlin (IT) implying, when questioned about LB coach candidates, that Sark is past candidates and that they are waiting for that coach’s bowl game before announcing.
Speculate away.

Bobby says they're on the look out for a Holden Staes visit shortly after his OU visit.
New name to look for is Brandon Johnson out of Duke.
Staes would definitely be a top transfer prospect - though I don't think Bobby would be reporting it if Texas wanted to keep it a secret. Would be a good get if that is who Texas is prioritizing.

We already have one corch on the field coming into the program in Parker Livingstone. Not sure we have space for a second. Who will be the corch?
Parker needs a friend.

Hmmmm. Who to believe, Nahlin or Thamel?
Murph's a California kid. Maybe San Diego State or UNLV or similar?
UNLV had a pretty good season from their RS Freshman QB. San Diego St has a 5th year senior with one more season of eligibility. Maybe he understudies there for a year?

Bobby very initially said Staes is someone Texas would have interest in. Then nothing happened. Recently IT was reporting that Staes was not happening and now apparently Bobby is saying there is a chance that Sanders comes back. For the life of me I wouldn't understand that unless he is determined to make himself a 1st round pick and thinks he can do it with one more year (and no Bowers).
