  1. What a stupid comment.
  2. Yes, you are correct. It is best cast. I guess I don’t like the OP’s thread, because it could imply just throwing a bunch of money at a bunch of big name actors. This thread insists upon itself.
  3. I don’t like this data point because it’s credible and undermines my thesis. Seriously, the reason I’ve made this proclamation is because neither college or nfl teams believe that DT is that important, but I think they are potentially wrong, for the reasons I stated above. However there is a good argument for LT being more important, for sure.
  4. On a more serious note, RB is a position where you can actually tell from the stands whether the player has the potential to be a top college or nfl back. I’ve never seen Walker play live. I saw Burkhead back in the day and immediately knew he’d be a very good college back and possibly an nfl back. If anyone has seen him play live, I’d be interested to hear what they thought.
  5. Can’t you just do what the rest of us do? Go buy way more meat than we need at a price we think is a great deal but actually is not, once you take into account how much had to be thrown away due to freezer burn? This is the American way!
  6. I’m highly skeptical. Maybe Cooper’s deal had a clause that said slow white boys could be the second back.
  7. You’re answering a different question.
  8. But is it? That was a meh movie rated 53% on rotten tomatoes. Just throwing a whole bunch of well known actors into a movie isn’t great casting imo.
  9. LT has a strong argument given it protects most QB’s. I used to think Edge, but they aren’t involved in a lot of plays, so I discounted that. Shutdown CB has an argument, but I can only think of maybe a dozen ever who were so good they shut down half the field. So, that’s trying to find a unicorn like Deion.
  10. DT/NT. Yup. I said it. They stuff the run game. They clog the middle. They reduce the time DB’s have to cover. They make it easier for LB’s to shoot gaps. They are important on every single play. They charge the entire complexion of a defense. Think back to some of the best Texas teams and they usually had strong NT/DT’s, often NFL quality. Now look at this year’s Texas team. Good NT/DT play, but not elite, NFL quality. And as a result, Texas isn’t elite. I’d put more NIL money on DT’s in the future if we aren’t getting the best available. Any other position worthy of mention?
  11. Because he’s got way more experience in this area than most posters on this board. I heard from the day he was hired, that he never did stop drinking, that he just controlled it. I don’t see how that’s possible given his history, but I’m no expert.
  12. I don’t like this post. I wanted to be unreasonably angry. Therefore, I’m going to ignore this and label all these 3 star flips as failures before they step on campus.
  13. Couldn’t watch the game live yesterday. Had a conflict. Watching it this morning. For the third straight week, Sark has finally started mixing in short routes a few yards off the line of scrimmage, where they run slants against mtm coverage, or plant into an open space against zone coverage. Why the hell he didn’t do this before is a mystery. Not only does this move the chains, it opens up intermediate and long passing routes, as well as the run game. I stopped watching the Georgia game in the second half so I’m not sure what they did against them, but with these adjustments no defense in the country should be able to stop this offense. Too bad they blew the season before figuring it out.
  14. Is that Alexandra’s brother? To each his own.
  15. I was very concerned about his comment regarding being a great OC was why he was hired. That comment revealed an incredibly troubling issue. When I used to consult for CEO’s of companies on strategic and operational issues, I sometimes ran into CEO’s who didn’t understand the fact that their value to the company was no longer their functional expertise in a particular area. It was their overall ability to grow and take on higher level responsibilities. Companies run by these types of CEO’s were A MESS. It demonstrates he either has no mentor of value, or isn’t listening to his mentor. Sometimes, I could get through to these broken CEO’s to get them to change, but more often than not, they were just wired that way. I am very skeptical that this guy is running his program with the proper attention to detail and efficient use of resources. Based on that one statement of his alone, I was ready for him to be booted out unless there was ample evidence of his ability to be mentored and to learn. I doubt it.
  16. Just need to get a few more shooting guards and we’ll be good.
  17. 19 of the 20 are focused on his bed.
  18. Lots of great movies and casts listed in the thread. However some of those suggested are focused more on the star power, or acknowledged great actors, or sheer quantity of actors. Am watching the 2009 Star Trek remake. Their casting choices were phenomenal. Many of the actors were known but not yet huge stars. And the fit with the previous Star Trek characters was outstanding. They didn’t come across as Rich Little impersonators, but they captured the essence of the previous characters. Whoever did casting for that movie did an incredible job.
  19. I’m sorry what CTJ post are you referencing? I never saw anything from him that implied there were any confirmed views Sark is gone.
  20. I’ve read this three times and concluded it makes no sense whatsoever. I have no idea what you were trying to say.
  21. So this thread is moving at the speed of light and despite my best efforts to get the gist of the situation, I’m unclear on whether anyone has confirmed off the field issues that put Sark at risk of parting ways with Texas. It is known that nfl jobs are a possibility, but what about personal issues?
  22. I don’t understand everyone talking about changes he needs to make. He never specifically refuted the NFL rumors, wants to go to the NFL, and 2027 recruiting is not good. He has one or both feet out the door. If he doesn’t already have a deal locked up, he will most likely show the same lack of commitment next year as he has this year, while he waits for a deal. Of course, sitting around here and failing is a sure fire way to lose out on nfl opportunities. He’s dangerously close to blowing it here, and not being able to go there. If he really wants to be here, he needs to immediately refute the nfl rumors, pick up his own personal pace on 2027 recruiting, reassuring spooked recruits, and hint at changes. Otherwise, the program will take a huge step backward in 2026 and then it will be a mess for him and Texas.
  23. Mayo Clinic does not believe in that. So mine have been like someone stables my testicles to the wall and beat my prostate with a baseball bat.
  24. Luka was a massive star that made Dallas relevant. So trading him at all was a bad idea, however…if they would have made a solid blockbuster trade where they really got full value, and there was an exciting future for the Mavs in the next 3-5 years, then I would have been okay with it. But the trade as executed has destroyed the franchise for 10 years at least because they have no draft picks.
