  1. There are a lot of tabs in that file depending n your interest. If you enjoy memory lane, there's a tab for where things stood at the end of each season since 2011. There are Texas by Class and Aggie by Class tabs which shows what happened to every recruit since 2017. The Aggie Grid is an alternative to the depth chart/class style I use for Texas. It shows each recruit by class (rather than remaining eligibility) and their player rating. I don't track depth chart for Aggie since I don't follow them close enough and Ourlads.com does a better job of tracking than I could do. The Roster tab is a dump from the Texas web site and is used by formulas in the 2024 tab to update the jersey numbers. The player positions and depth chart in the 2024 tab is based on what I read on Surly, which includes a lot of speculation. When the season starts, I'll update them based on the official depth chart each week.
  2. A few observations: - Aggies are at 62, which is one spot higher than Clemson which has lost 10 players to the portal and has zero commits. - There are 3 teams ranked higher than A&M that have zero transfers coming in and 7+ transfers going out. - A&M has the highest outgoing average performance rating of the top 65 teams. - The average rating of the incoming commits is #33 of 65 teams. - ON3 is saying that A&M has lost more talent/performance than they've brought in. ON3 describes their ranking as "On3's Team Transfer Portal Index utilizes the On3 (P)erformance score to measure a team’s production during the transfer process, compared relative against its roster and not a comparison against other schools. This proprietary algorithm determines if a school has improved its overall team talent, stayed the same, or declined in talent during the transfer window."
  3. Here's a link: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1TzoBTIvCXfZIk7Sz3C9txMg0yPvrXyVM/edit#gid=1682239859 Looks like I'll need to update it to remove Watts. Not sure who the other safety starter will be. NT will look a lot better with Caldwell as a starter.
  4. Here's a link to what I have (73 not counting Bussey) https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1TzoBTIvCXfZIk7Sz3C9txMg0yPvrXyVM/edit#gid=529379820 RB - Add Jerry Johnson (blue) TE - Add Theo Melin Öhrström (probably behind a healthy Green and Platt) DT - Add Jadon Scarlett (blue) WLB - Add Jurriente Davis LCB - Jayvon Thomas is listed twice. Kent Robinson is a PWO. RCB - Add Bravion Rogers FS - Add Bobby Taylor (blue) NB - Josh DeBerry used his Covid year and is out of eligibility (red cross out) K - Add Jared Zirkel (Green - KO specialist xfer from Georgia). Add Ethan Moczulski P - Add Tyler White
  5. 13 of 32 of the 2022 class have transferred. 6 more leaving before 2025 would be 60%, which seems reasonable (at a minimum). Aggie by Class tab: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1TzoBTIvCXfZIk7Sz3C9txMg0yPvrXyVM/edit#gid=1912575733
  6. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1TzoBTIvCXfZIk7Sz3C9txMg0yPvrXyVM/edit#gid=1682239859 Offensive Notes: - Sanders is unlikely to return. Not sure about Ewers or Brooks. Leaving them in until I hear something definitive. - Mitchell is not listed, but he might return. - Majors was recognized on Senior Day (which is why he is in italics), but is expected to be back. Defensive Notes: - Carter, Gbenda, and Watts were all recognized on Senior Day, but are expected to be back. - There's a lot of position flexibility, so not sure where to put some of these names (e.g., Mukuba might start at Star). - Not sure who will be starting at Mike. I showed Gbenda and Hill as starters, but I thought they both played Will, so not sure how it will end up. - Never sure who to put as Buck vs. Sam, especially the RS FR.
  7. User name checks out
  8. What if Baron leads Texas in sacks and Bill says "I told you he's just like Ben!"
  9. The Outland trophy winner had more TDs than the Doak Walker winner last week. Also this:
  10. He walked on Senior Recognition Day, so I didn't include him in the spreadsheet. He could always change his mind.
  11. I've seen a couple of posts about LB not being a problem, so I'm assuming I'm missing something on my spreadsheet. Not sure about the positions of the RS FR, but it looks to me like the only LBs with experience are Blackwell and Hill. Also, no idea who will start at NT. Looks to me like S, Mike, and NT are the biggest needs on defense. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1TzoBTIvCXfZIk7Sz3C9txMg0yPvrXyVM/edit#gid=1682239859
  12. For those curious about a Where Are They Now perspective on the Aggie 2022 class, the "Aggie by Class" tab tracks the status of each recruit, sorted by the year they signed with A&M, then by rating. There's a similar "Texas by Class" tab. They both go back to 2017. I didn't include Nolen since he's not in the portal yet and GH said that Aggie was better positioned to retain him. I did include Jake and the Overton brothers since it seems like they are likely to leave and the 48 hour clock has started. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1TzoBTIvCXfZIk7Sz3C9txMg0yPvrXyVM/edit#gid=1912575733
  13. I fully expect all the aggie assistant coach hires to be highly regarded.
  14. I added a 2024 tab to the depth chart spreadsheet. I removed everyone that walked on Senior Recognition Day, although some might come back. I also removed Worthy and Mitchell since they'll be declaring for the NFL. I'm sure there will be others declaring as well (Ewers, Sanders), but I'm leaving them until I see something more definitive. Not sure about the positions of the RS FR, especially Edge/Buck vs. SAM, so suggestions are welcome. Link to the 2024 sheet: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1TzoBTIvCXfZIk7Sz3C9txMg0yPvrXyVM/edit#gid=1682239859 Here's the defense:
  15. My tracker assumes that everyone that is eligible for an extra Covid year uses one. For example, Jake played 2020-2023 without using a redshirt (no RS after his name), so he can use his Covid year in 2024. Since he has one year remaining, I list him as a Junior even though 2023 is year 4 with no redshirt.
  16. I don't know, but here's how the USC boards are reacting:
  17. "We've got ourselves another Leon O'Neal! Whoop!" - aggie
  18. Go easy on him, it's hard to tell a coach no. He just wants to please everyone.
  19. He didn't say it. It's not true. Just another in a long list of aggie made up shit that they repeat until they believe. https://www.barrypopik.com/index.php/new_york_city/entry/give_me_a_handful_of_texas_aggies_and_ill_win_a_war_general_george_s_patton World War II General George S. Patton is often quoted as saying: “Give me an army of West Point graduates, and I’ll win a battle. Give me a handful of Texas Aggies, and I’ll win a war.” The quote appears on some Aggie T-shirts, but no source has been found. Most scholars believe that Patton never said it. The earliest recorded citation is from 1993. Misattributed Mike Province, founder and president of The Patton Society calls this an urban legend and in the Texas A&M Battalion (2 October 2006) is quoted as saying “I’ve gotten e-mails and questions regarding that quote for several years… People will use it with Texas Aggies, The Citadel, Virginia Military Institute and even Clemson. All of these schools want to be linked to Patton… Anything is possible… I honestly don’t believe he said it, because I’ve heard too many people say that he said it about their school. But if anyone out there can find proof that he said it, I’d love to hear about it and get it out there.”
