Ok, so Lyon for 6 nights. Burgundy for 5 nights. I do not like to move around, so trying to pick between Dijon and Beaune as my center in Burgundy. Leaning towards Dijon as it is larger, but anyone have any other opinions?

And the first of the professional men just came through.

First of the professional women have just come through. This is mile 16 and they started at 8:35 so they are at a sub 5 and a half minute mile. Holy shit.

The cheers from the marathon are starting to filter through my window. The elite wheelchairs are hitting the turn up 1st Avenue. I have clear line of sight to them on the Queensborough and coming off the bridge without even leaving my apartment, but Harvey and I might go down there once the regular runners start coming through.

I did not go back upthread.

I mourned for an umbrella that I purchased in Londonn and promptly left in a cab longer than Erika Kirk mourned for Charlie.

In a way you have to feel a bit sorry for Usha.
By most accounts, JD was a lot less of a shithead until he went off to Peter Thiel's gay boot camp.
Nope. She is complicit. Fuck her.

Was there this weekend as you know. Love NYC. I'll say this though - I can take a million pics of how beautiful Chicago is daily too, but we need to keep putting ICE bullshit on blast. I know you didn't mean anything by this post and I love it. Just want to point out even when Jewish people were being rounded up all over Europe, huge swaths of those countries looked like life as usual with beauty all around.
There's a lot going on more underground here in Chicago, I don't think it does much good to post but there's solid resistance.

anyways...literally also me every single time we went by it...
😄
Fuck Trump times infinity.
@ChiTownDoc, agreed. But this whole hellscape thing is in direct opposition to what Trump and Fox News say about major cities. We are not crime ridden hellscapes as they claim and the idiots in flyover states eat up. It is important to show people that all this regime does is lie to further its fascist agenda.
FYI, I was all around the civic center, and most likely because the courts are closed, there were no protests. Had there been, I probably would have joined in, as I usually do.

They've always been there and have always been stupid and racisty. Before Trump, they a) didn't vote b) in a bloc and c) kept their stupidity, racism, and conspiracy theories mostly to themselves. They need to be told to sit down and shut the fuck up again.
This.

They voted to pay the military, TSA, air traffic controllers, etc during the shutdown. They didn’t vote for the CR to reopen the government without extending the healthcare subsidies.
Misleading headline is misleading. FYI, there was a Democratic bill that would pay everyone during the shutdown, but the Republican bills would only pay certain people.

I just found out that there is a sloth at the Bronx Zoo named Han Slolo, and this sloth is a zoo ambassador and meets zoo patrons. Amazing.

You guys may have inspired me. We thought about trying to make a trip in early December, but oldest daughter is about to give birth so kicked that to the curb. But we could get a lot of what we want on the Jan 1 weekend.
I assume that a lot of businesses will keep the Christmas lighting going through the long weekend? As seeing some of the displays and the Christmas vibe was what the wife wanted to see in December. And damn- I can go from the 1st though the 7th via costco for $2500 at the Royal Benjamin Sonesta, 2 pm check in/out, including private car transfers from airport to the hotel, and direct Austin flights for $2700!
New Grandkid birth washed out our 40th, but we are getting a better present! So this might be a nice delayed alternative. I totally agree with the idea of trying to explore certain areas. I was looking at a Spring trip from the last week of march into April, to see some of the blooming season. We went at the end of April last year and it was waning for the most part.
OK guess I need to take @PenelopeWitherspoon list of storefronts, and maybe let that determine my hotel. Anyhow glad I came over to glance at the thread!
Generally, storefronts are up until Jan 3-5 or so. Some keep them up slightly longer. Rockefeller Tree usually leaves on the 5th.
