  1. From my State of New York, AOC did not vote, and Santos, Stefanik (I cannot stand her) and Tenney (another worthless lump) voted Nay.  Every other member of the New York delegation, including Lawler, Malliotakis, and Molianory (some of the worst of the GQP) voted Yay.

For Texas, the following voted Nay:

    Arrington

    Babin

Carter (Someone needs to run against this hack)

    Cloud

    Fallon

    Gooden

    Hunt

Jackson (SJL did not vote, so this is the other Jackson)

    Luttrell

    McCaul

    Nehls (this guy sucks)

    Roy (Carpetbagger)

    Self

    Sessions

    Van Duyne (she is horrific)

    Weber

    Williams

We renewed our entire family of four and each one of us ended up getting automatic renewal in a matter of 2-3 days.

Same. Both me and kids were simply renewed almost instantly

I actually asked them, since I am coming up on a year.  I have had Global Entry since 2012, and when I renewed back in 2017, I got my approval and renewal in less than 2 weeks.  They are now saying up to 12 months.  I guess if I still do not have anyting by December 19th, then I reach out again.  I have reached out to my Congress person (Nadler), who was useless.  If nothing by December 19th, I might reach out to Chuck Schumer when I reach back out to CBP.  This whole thing is ridiculous.  And yes, I renewed online.  Everything is right.  It is so dumb.

What's the point of having the ultimate fuck you money if you don't sometimes say, fuck you?

Of course this board that has spent the last however many pages concern trolling about how advertisers would sink Elon is stung that he is apparently unbothered. He basically said fuck you to all of those posters too. Looks like they'll have to find another weapon to try to take X/Elon down. Perhaps more frivolous federal lawsuits or maybe direct legal action against him is up next?

The reason that Elon/Twitter/X has caused such a frenzy since day 1 is that, as he said in the same interview, "The degree to which old Twitter was basically a sock puppet of the government was ridiculous."

    That's it.

Oh joy. You are back.  How much are you paid per post?  That is the only explanation for you coming back, time and time again, after getting crowdsourced each and every time.

Saw “shucked” on broadway when I was there last month. Thought it was great. Funny as hell.

Headed back next week and looking for a show or two. Thoughts? Probably do the day of 50% off thing at TKTS. Jesus hotels are crazy this time of year.

    Gutenburg! the Musical. Do it.

Yeah--we used it last summer and I'm going to use it again in January.

The baggage allowance is small.  But if you're just there for a long weekend and you're just taking a carry-on, it's fine.  Otherwise, you're going to have to deal with a luggage-delivery service.

But here's the thing: it's a combination transportation and sightseeing deal.  Yea, you get to the airport in 7 minutes.  And that kicks the shit out of an hour in an Uber (which is going to cost at least $100 on its own).  But you get an amazing sightseeing tour along the way.  From the 30th Street Heliport, you go south down the Hudson as Manhattan is restricted airspace.  You then hook a left south of the Battery, which gives you a great view of the length of Manhattan on one side and the Statue of Liberty on the other.  And then five minutes later, you're zooming up between the departure runways at JFK (which I found actually to be a bit unnerving) as you approach the helicopter terminal.

Is it worth it?  I mean, yeah--I think so.  It's damned expensive.  But it's also something you're only ever really going to do in NYC.

I would love to.  Alas, I am always traveling International Long Haul.  A single carry on doesn't work.  Maybe for a business trip to Houston in the New Year.

Raskin's full statement if you want to avoid twitter fuckery

Rep. Jamie Raskin, after House Republicans rejecting Hunter Biden's request to testify in public:

"Let me get this straight. After wailing and moaning for ten months about Hunter Biden and alluding to some vast unproven family conspiracy, after sending Hunter Biden a subpoena to appear and testify, Chairman Comer and the Oversight Republicans now reject his offer to appear before the full Committee and the eyes of the world and to answer any questions that they pose? What an epic humiliation for our colleagues and what a frank confession that they are simply not interested in the facts and have no confidence in their own case or the ability of their own Members to pursue it. After the miserable failure of their impeachment hearing in September, Chairman Comer has now apparently decided to avoid all Committee hearings where the public can actually see for itself the logical, rhetorical and factual contortions they have tied themselves up in. The evidence has shown time and again President Biden has committed no wrongdoing, much less an impeachable offense. Chairman Comer's insistence that Hunter Biden’s interview should happen behind closed doors proves it once again. What the Republicans fear most is sunlight and the truth."

Annual Xmas trip to visit the in-laws is set.

Used Jet Blue miles, so unfortunately flying into to JFK.  We jokingly talked about a helicopter to get to Manhattan, as the drive from JFK is a beating.  We would be landing late afternoon, so even worse than normal.

It's surprisingly not as expensive as I anticipated.  Plus a 5-min flight is much more palatable than a 2 hour commute after a 3 hr flight.

So, we're being super extra...and taking Blade.

    Anyone used it??

Double check what luggage you can take on the thing.  You might be best off having your bags delivered. Last I looked, you were severely limited on the chopper on luggage, specifically weight.  I live in Manhattan and fly in and out of JFK regularly.  Most times coming home, it is 45 mins to an hour to my place.

Curious to see what people think about Peter Luger’s.  Just went for the first time and I was shocked by how disappointing it all was.  Frankly I thought it was worse than most of the Chicago/Texas steakhouses.

However they cooked the steak left a pretty large gray band, and although the quality of the meat was fine it didn’t stand out or blow me away.  Combine that with cold rolls and mediocre sides and the total came out to ~$200 a person without factoring in the bottles of wine …I’m sure most people on this board  could do better with a trip to central market.

Is this normal or am I missing something?

It was great 10-15 years ago (I last went in 2010), but there are MUCH better places in NYC.  It is now a gimmick.

i'm just here to say... most women only use 'up to' 12 tampons per cycle??

Yeah, that number is way too low.  But it is funny listening to a man try and explain how many tampons a woman uses in a cycle.  Idiot.

  12. 3 minutes ago, YGIFS said:

couple things here.  A per annum increase in tampon costs of $30 is not worthy of a national debate, granted.  But it's a leading indicator of the higher costs past along to women in the form of hygiene products to Rx drugs.  Kinda like how we erroneously pin economic indicators on a President like Automobile Fuel prices.  We all know that oil & gas are global commodities traded on open markets which are Adam Smith designed so that no one person can control the prices.  So just like tampons are about much more than just the cost of the box, so too is are global energy markets about much more than Biden or Trump.

Second-most women use way more than 12 in a cycle.  There's heavy days, there's days where you drop one in the toilet or it falls out of your purse.  There's light days at the start, and days at the end when ovulation is taking over and the wife is horny as hell and they get gooey wet just from a backrub so they gotta use a new one just minutes after sex.  You'd know if you ever spent a day in your life /pacino.  There's pool time, there's changing for an evening event time.  There's pre-premenopausal time where they need to change several times a day because it's unpredictable flow.  Then there's "I'm having my period but I'll blow you" but then things get outta hand and you end up fucking and she needs yet another one she didn't count on.

Between no pussy getting Abbott and Dan Patrick probably using more tampons per month than all the female posters on this site combined, we are failing women at every turn in Texas.  And the worst part is, millions of Texas women are going with it because reasons...

This right fucking here.  This is the point.

  13. Napoleon was an absolute racist and completely erased a lot of the equalities black men had won during the revolution, reinstituting slavery in France after it had been abolished in the 1st Republic.  His hatred of Thomas-Alexandre Dumas (father of Alexandre Dumas of Three Musketeers fame) is a hell of a fucking story.

Also, Napoleon got his ass handed to him in Egypt.

  14. I am very glad to be not flying United.  Since most of my travel is international, I stick to BA, which allows me a ton of flexibility.  I have not sat in coach on an international flight in years.  Having my home airport be NYC helps keep fares way lower than they would be if I were back in Texas.  That helps a lot.

  15. This is @DalTxHornFan@DalTxHornFan asks for honest discourse and debate, but has ZERO intention of that.  Rather, he is a Trump/GQP fan boy who doesn't understand why we just neg and move on.  Your shit is old and tired just like you are.  TexAgs is much more your speed.  Go post there.

Ok I’m going to regret asking this, but the average woman’s period takes up 12 tampons? So a 5 dollar difference every two months is “fucking bullshit”? Or 30 dollars per annum. Of all the things to complain about

It is called a tax on being a woman.  Just like how health care for women is WAY behind that for men.  But yeah, gotta make those little blue penis pills.

Well not as bad as we expected and doable for 2 adults with graduate degrees in a 1BR.

Average rent in Manhattan is above 4700 a month, for about 703 sq ft.  You can find small walkups for less than that, but not in the best neighborhoods.  And given subway and bus delays, being close in is important.
