the circus is coming to Dallas this weekend.
I hate that this shit has seeped into the very pores of supposedly nonpartisan local politics. Thankfully Pelham won the runoff.

Got a 24 timeout on fb for a post I made 3 years ago. Didn't even tell me what the post said.
I was FB admonished yesterday for a pic I posted in 2013.

Losing games 2 and 3 was pivotal in maintaining our away court advantage.

The whole segment is just as dumb as you’d expect, but at least watch the first 6 seconds. Great save Tucker!

Nice loop in far North Texas. In Muenster on 82 take 373 North up along the Red River. Head back South on 677 to 82 at St. Jo. Big hills and long fast sweeping curves.

Coming back from Colorado to D/FW I always plan extra time to loop through Caprock Canyons.
207 S. At Claude to 256
256 to 70 over to Turkey
70 to 86 back to 287
Love the Colorado mountain scenery but there is something serene and epic about seeing that massive hole in the ground and the horizon in every direction you look.

I like exploring unpaved Ranch Roads and County Roads. This is in the middle of nowhere NW of Chianti Peak.

I used to always plan my in state trips with
The Backroads of Texas map book. This is one of my favorite loops.

Fried baloney - let it cup and pour an egg in.
Mrs. Baird's White Bread from Fort Worth.
Mustard.
I like Mayo and crunched up sour cream and onion chips on top.

So is the grid going to get fixed or not?
No, but this will surely make everyone feel better.
“The bills, which are nearing passage as the Legislature begins its final week in session, would allow gas utility companies and electric co-operatives to issue bonds backed by the state’s assurance that there will be an extra charge on customers’ utility bills to pay back the bonds — a financial tool known as securitization.”- 1

Looking at the list of speakers and bios. I can't tell if it's satire or a real event.
Check out the video on the home page to see them dressed up like cowboys! -
The $1000 dollar VIP ticket package is sold out. $500 general admission is still available. How many tickets do you think they sold?
Funny they were originally scheduled for Gilly’s but Gilly’s dropped them, supposedly when they found out who they are.

I snapped this photo about a month ago of our family cabin my dad and his carpenter buddy built circa 1965. The owners weren’t there, so this is the best shot I could get. It’s on a hill/cliff overlooking a lake in South Dakota. It has a deck and big picture windows on the two sides overlooking the lake. It also had a 60s style free-standing fireplace in the middle of the living room that appears to no longer exist. Imagine Dean Martin walking in stirring a martini.
My dad purchased the lot for cash from a friend who was a local mayor. It bordered a SD Game, Fish & Parks wildlife refuge, but my dad - not wanting to pay for a proper survey - relied of the mayor’s recollection of the property line. My dad sold it to his carpenter friend when we moved to San Antonio in 1974, and the bank-ordered survey showed that it encroached on the GFP land. Oops! My dad had to pay to remove a nicely terraced grass patio on the downhill side that had a wall and crescent fire pit and grill made with huge sandstone rocks that he scavenged from God knows where.
That refuge along the shoreline was like heaven for me as a kid. I had it to myself to fish and (illegally) hunt frogs that I would use as bait (or sell to a bait shop for 10 cents until I found out that the bastards sold them for over a dollar).
Great looking cabin.
Some of those MCM Preway and Malm fireplaces can go for a few thousand bucks.

They misspelled "Branson".
Those are the backups. We have the first team in Dallas this weekend.

Found this at a local consignment and thought it was pretty cool.
Subject is one of John M. Johansen’s most iconic buildings. This building had a pretty tragic history.

My dad made something he called “dad sandwiches” which was just American cheese slices, sliced hot dogs, put on top of white bread and slid under a broiler. Not bad at all.
We did one like that we called Burnt Weenie Sandwich.
Slice the weenies and fold them open
In the folds insert slivers of cheese and chopped onions
Add Worcestershire Sauce and Tabasco
Broil until the edges are burnt and crispy and the cheese is melted. Make a sandwich with available bread with Mustard.

"Constitutional" is just marketing.
According to Patrick it “restores our Second Amendment rights”
