I watch this show also. Last season the Von Erich episode was heart wrenching as they followed Kevin around talking about his brothers
I lived in Denton when most of this stuff was going on and they were staying at their place in Shady Shores. I used to run across various brothers at bars etc. and on local dirt bike trails.
One night after the bars closed we stopped at the 24hr Albertsons and ran into one of the brothers huffing Whipped Cream inside the store. He loaded up about six cans and took them to checkout. He still had whipped cream all over his shirt. I think it was Mike but they all looked alike to me.

I'm still pretty slow, but I just try to push myself to keep going a bit further when I'm ready to quit, even if it's just an extra mile or two on flatter trails. I'm having some gear slippage issues on harder climbs which has bogged me down a bit - I've greased up the chain, cassette, etc, which helped, but I think it's mostly due to the bike's age.
Erwin was gorgeous last night, even in the open field sections. Getting second vax dose tomorrow which may take me out for a bit, so trying to squeeze in what I can this week.
That’s one of mine. New peeps have done a good job with upkeep and expansion.

His wife will also be in attendance at the conference. She is a singer/songwriter. She's hosting a webinar tomorrow if you'd like to tune in:

it's kinda like saying "The 'War On Drugs' did some good things."
I really like their last album.

Boodles in the house here. Wife (no pics) is quite proficient with the cocktails, among other things.
Boodles is our favorite. Clean and dry. Perfect for a Gibson. A Gin martini garnished with cocktail onions is not a Martini but a Gibson. Never understood the appeal of a “Dirty” Martini. Don’t fuck up my booze with a bunch of brine.

And taking it to the next level. Seems like I could only find these in loose in those vending machines.
Yum!

Shout out to The Woodlands.

I wouldn’t call Thick as a Brick a concept album. I’d just call it an album-long song.
According to Anderson it was meant to satirize concept albums. He was apparently pissed that people called Aqualung a concept album and he considered it just a collection of songs.

Heading out next Friday for a road trip to Fruita and Moab. I've been trying to do this trip for a few years and finding the right combination of weather, days off, kids' schedule, etc.. has kept it from happening. Basically 1 day in Fruita, 4 days in Moab with an option to switch that up a little. Alsoa quick stop at Palo Duro Canyon on the way up and back. Taking my old man with me. He took me on a ton of road trip adventures as a kid and it'll be good to add one more to the list.
Camping at Palo Duro since it's on the way and will get a morning ride in there (Lighthouse trail? Not sure what else) before heading on to Fruita. Got a campsite on some private land near 18 Road in Fruita but hoping for a better spot on the BLM land right at the trails. Kessel Run, PBR, and Zippity-Do-Dah are tops on the list there. Then whatever else looks good before heading to Moab. Got a campsite one night at Sand Flats and hoping to find a 1st come-1st serve spot for another day or two that I couldn't reserve. Got a hotel room one night in the middle for a hot shower. In Moab it'll be Captain Ahab one day and the Mag 7 trails another day. Navajo Rocks looks better and less crowded than Slickrock... but I've been eyeing Slickrock for 20 years... one of those two will be the third day. It's too early for the Whole Enchilada, that'll have to be next time. Probably hike with Pops in Arches one day.
Here's some trail porn... Not my videos, just what I'm planning to hit
[/url]
Ifyou are that close to Slickrock you should do it. -
I don’t think anybody had a string of great concept albums that can compare to The Kinks:
‘68-Village Green Preservation Society
69- Arthur/The Decline and Fall of the British Empire
70-Lola vs. Powerman
71-Muswell Hillbillies

Speaking to CNN on Monday, Rodimer admitted for the first time that the campaign did use a body double for parts of the bull ride segment of the ad. The ad never shows the rider's face, and the boots and vest appear slightly different than what Rodimer is wearing in the video.
"I actually stayed on for 11 seconds and the only reason I was able to get off -- well, unfortunately my hand was stuck, so I couldn't get off sooner -- we didn't get the full filming of it, and, yeah, we had other people jump in to be body doubles," he said.

And "Joel Greenberg" is awfully Jewy for the Texas GOP...
He could go by “Mean Joel Green.”

The only thing I got from all of that is Joel Greenberg could move to Texas today and win an election.
Only if he bought a cowboy outfit like Big Dan.

One of my best high school buddies. Starting QB, married the head cheerleader etc. etc. Sweetest guy ever.
He was a musician and worked part time at a used car lot to make extra bucks.
Brutal and senseless.
On Dec. 6, Smith and Ables left a local car lot in a black 2001 BMW. Following him in his mother’s Ford Taurus was Charlotte Nioche Davis, 18. In the back seat of the Taurus were her 12-year-old brother and Smith’s 2-year-old sister. “He had him traveling around under the guise he was going to show the car to somebody,” Haltom said of Smith’s actions shortly before he shot Ables in rural Arkansas. “He shot him in the head and then kicked him into a ditch. He was still moving around, so he shot him two more times.”
Davis told police Smith motioned the 12-year-old to join him before Ables was shot, according to court documents.
After shooting him once in the head, Smith kicked Ables’ body into a deep ditch and lost his shoe in the process, Haltom said. Smith sent the 12-year-old down the slope to recover his shoe. When Ables began to move slightly, Haltom says Smith shot him two more times. According to witnesses who told police Smith had confided in them about the killing, Smith told them Ables had told him he could take the car and that he didn’t have to shoot him with the chrome colored .357 magnum he carried. “It’s a Beamer,” was the response Smith told others he gave to Ables seconds before ending the man’s life.
Davis pleaded guilty to being an accomplice to murder on Oct. 3. In exchange for her testimony in Smith’s trial Haltom agreed to recommend a sentence of 20 years. She will appear Monday morning before Griffin to be formally sentenced. Smith was not eligible to receive the death penalty because he was just 17 when he shot Ables. Miller County Chief Prosecutor Brent Haltom told the Ables family that Smith’s right to appeal the conviction is heavily restricted because he chose to plead guilty. Pleading guilty to first degree rather than capital murder does not mean Smith has the opportunity for parole. “Life in prison and life without parole are exactly the same sentence in Arkansas,” Haltom said. The only way Smith will ever live as a free man again is if an Arkansas Governor commutes his sentence.

I bought a new Miata. /end thread
Bought a used one for fun a while back. Still enjoy the hell out of it. Such a joy to get out of the cocoon I’m usually driving. 2005 Mazdaspeed. 6 speed manual and factory turbo.

Tried to find out if the driver was charged but haven’t found anything.
I’ve always thought the best way to commit murder and get away with it is to hit them with your vehicle.
Sun was in my eyes
swerved or stepped in front of me
foot slipped of the brake
etc.
If you are very unlucky maybe involuntary manslaughter.

He had an 80 CM custom made Trek. It was stolen and recovered in 2011. Kinda hard not to see I would imagine.

I always spend some time in Salida. Maybe my favorite small CO town along with Crested Butte. Scenery is not as spectacular as Ouray/Telluride but it’s right on the Arkansas river. Laid back and not as touristy as most of the others.
Last time I was there Pagosa Springs was pretty meh. -
Prefer all above the patty. And keep it simple:
Lettuce
Tomatoes
Onions
Pickles
Jalapeños
Mustard (depends on my mood)
Cheese
No goddamn mayo, no salad dressing.
Prefer above usually.
Lettuce
Tomatoes, preferably from East Texas
Onions, preferably Red
Dill pickles
Mustard
Cheese, preferably Cheddar
Bacon(usually)
NEVER! Mayo, ketchup or salad dressings
