  1. I’ve felt like crap for two days. Finally had raised temp today. Not official “fever” per the nurse. I tired to explain that I normally run cold. Home Covid test was negative. I think allergies because I’ve had this kind of reaction to cedar before. New symptom for me though is that when I cough (not that frequently as of yet) it feels like how broken ribs feel. The feeling is across my chest. I figure maybe I coughed in my sleep last night and my chest is sore. No idea really though.
It’s been almost five months since my Pfizer booster. Oxygen levels are fine so I’m hoping it passes soon like you other fully vaccinated.

  2. ^^ So we are 2/3rds the way through a master bathroom remodel. Head contractor has come down with Covid. Unvaccinated and he has it bad. Currently on Ivermectin. Sure hope it works. I mean yeah for his sake but I’ve been out of my damn bathroom for a month already.

He takes shortcuts with his own health and you think he cares about your remodel?
  3. Just saw video on Twitter of some houses burning in Superior. Pretty sure it was a house my mom had several years ago before she moved back to Texas. Looks like something out of a movie instead of real life.

  4. The land it's on has to be 9 figs at least if not double that. Wonder who owns it.

Several owners. Dillards, Simon Property, CTL Property, SPS portfolio holdings, and primary properties. Looks like a political district map after gerrymandering. Appraisals from Travis county cad total around $250,000,000. I’m guessing someone would pay much more. Is there a height restriction because of location?
  5. The Dude Abides Festival

The Dude Abides festival will be held November 13, 2021 outside at Pioneer Farms in Austin, TX with acres of room to socially distance, while we take it easy enjoying the festivities, celebrating the Coen Brothers timeless film, “The Big Lebowski.”

Jeff “The Dude” Dowd, who was the inspiration for “The Dude” character from the movie, will be also doing a remote Q&A for the festival.

  6. Nikki's has three locations now. One in Tech Ridge, one by RRHS on 620, and one in Cedar Park. I take the kids on occasion but they'll never understand the deep nostalgia.

    Wish Players was still around.

Players was at the clubhouse of Morris Williams for a bit. Did they change to something else?

Players owner had the golf course concessions contract with city of Austin iirc
  7. Weird year to pick to miss a game but good luck out there

There’s a lot going on and not just football. Best thing for me is to do what makes me happy for the weekend. And watching Texas give up 700 yards to another Oklahoma team isn’t going to make me happy.

  8. I’ve been to every home game since fall 2004. I will miss this weekend. Decided to go bow hunting instead. It will probably be the best defensive performance of the year to spite me. I’m ok with that.

  9. Goodall Wooten closed in May 2018.  The building was purchased by American Campus with the intent to redevelop it into more student housing, but I don't think that's been done yet.

Still waiting on a few leases to run out. The barber shop for one. The guys there told me it wasn’t going to be much longer. They hope to move up the drag a bit.
  10. Marching band played "Eyes of Texas" under the Tower today to celebrate Hartzell's official "inauguration" (was gonna happen last year but there was a flu going around).  Anyway, everybody of all colors stood and sang it.  It was nice to see considering some of the people in the crowd were the ones stirring the pot to get it banned.
And then back in the South Mall, there were a few dozen protestors.  I thought it was about the song, nope...pretty much people are moving on from it as an issue.  They were there protesting Gov. Abbott (since most of his Regents were in attendance).  No CR...but you could tell it was an "astro-turf" campaign, a few students but mostly folks around my age (maybe slightly younger).  And all the protest signs were the same size poster-board with the same size/colors of marker going the copy.
Anyway, seeing people of political persuasions today having no issue at all with the song being performed literally a few feet in front of them...I think this is a done issue.  If some players don't want to participate, as long as they are being respectful to those around them in their passive stance...who gives a shit?  This is a fucking done deal as far as almost everyone is concerned.  These guys put their health and lives on the line for our program, if they want to take a knee or not move their lips to a corny song, so be it.  The real fights are yet to come.

    We’re they protesting Liberty?
