My mom is 90 and lives alone in Houston. She's been pretty much locked away since this thing started. She is completely technologically illiterate. To date I have been unable to get her an appointment.
Follow memorial hermann on Facebook. They have 65+ (age) spots that open up every couple of days. My mom got in and got her Pfizer first dose today. Last week it was Monday, Thursday, and today that spots opened up. You should use your email in the form. They send an immediate follow up email with an appointment link. They book the second spot at the same time. -
Anyone have an Austin place link for 1B people that has vaccines now? Trying to help someone out
If you are registered with APH try logging back in and choosing dove springs. They weren’t at capacity today. I’m not sure why/how, but I know a couple of people who got spots today at dove springs and just registered yesterday. -
This link is about to go live in Houston. Jump on it if you have someone who needs a shot in 1b.
(Deleted link because spots are full) -
Got an extra? Asking for a friend
This. My 73 year old dad going through cancer treatment for prostate cancer can’t seem to find a spot. Fucking H-E-B closed on us when they found out a surly was involved. -
And canceled by HEB. “We overbooked due to an error in our website.”
-
Was able to get my dad a spot at H-E-B refreshed the page a few dozen times and got lucky.

Got my 2nd Pfizer dose on 1/22. Knocked me down pretty good the entire next day, but was back to normal after 36 hours. Just happy to have them both in me.
Just double checked my appointment. I’m actually scheduled 2/5. Which means I’ll have the weekend to rest/recover. Was it fatigue, body aches, alien crawling out of chest? -

Mercy kill on a very young axis. Came out and was visibly shaking. Started to walk towards the feed and fell over. Got back up and turned around. Missing a shoulder and who knows what else. Put her down. Walked up and she’s just skin and bones and whatever parasites were crawling out of the wound. Guess someone missed high. On a baby.
She would try to lick her wound and fall over. She looked back in my direction and just had that look of pain. No more suffering for her.-

Is the orange on the wall trump doing duck lips while getting spray tanned? Every time I look I see more in this.

So we can't just have smaller investors aggregate efforts and capital to steer certain single-issue stocks in a long direction?
So what the fuck is a pension fund then?
A pyramid scheme? One that hopes enough olds die and enough youth joins to support the few olds that live. -
Hartzell just sent out an email fwd from Dean Johnston of the Dell Med School.
“It is with a heavy heart that we remember and pay tribute to our colleague, K. Lindley Dodson, M.D., an assistant professor in our Department of Pediatrics.” -
wait so it took them 3 hours to figure out everyone was already dead before kicking in the door?
And then they shot him again to be sure he was double dead. -
Per APD news conference when the robot made entry the hostage was seen on camera and appeared seriously wounded. SWAT entered immediately and the situation ended soon after. More info to come in morning. It sounded like several people behind the media were close to the victim judging from the crying and shrieking upon hearing the news.

No ID of either person. Other than saying one is from the premises and one is not.
-
Both dead per APD

Is it dr dodson?
Allegedly. Being held. But that was deleted from Reddit. Which is the only source so far. -
How the fuck have they not sent anybody in? They have to have eyes on him, or are hearing him or something. 2 fucking hours.
Someone mentioned earlier they have people in the adjoining building. I’m wondering if they have a mic or something picking up noise/voices. Maybe I watch too much tv. -
It stopped updating,
I must have a lot of neighbors who contribute because I still see stuff almost daily. I live near two highways so there’s always an accident or situation to avoid in traffic. Helps me decide which way to go home since I never trust that bitch in the phone. -
I've never seen/heard of Citizen App before, but apparently it's an attempt to crowdsource shit in a more logical manner - rather than reading a bunch of tweets, etc. that can jump around in time and location, it tries to organize it in a timeline of sorts.

I’ve liked it for shit very close to home. Often these things don’t show up in news because they don’t affect enough people. -

Can someone explain the Veterans Affairs reported deaths from COVID? Is that from those in full time VA care? Retirement communities, mental health institutions, assisted living facilities? Does it also include any veteran who shows up to a VA hospital, admits, and then dies from COVID? Does it include veterans who admit to a non VA hospital and die from COVID? We’re nearing 9000 deaths reported by Veterans Affairs. I’m just curious if that is out of the 40,000 (from VA website) full time residents in VA facilities or including any veteran at any hospital/care facility. Difference would be 9,000/40,000 or 9,000 out of 4.5 million veterans. -
I would enjoy that steak.
It was tasty. I would’ve liked a little more crust in the outside. I was experimenting with the low and slow. And then my fucking torch head broke. So no good sear to finish.-

Yeah, I just don't understand the continued idea that we're not going to be back to (fairly) normal very soon. Just back of the napkin math:
Right now a conservative estimate is 100 million with existing immunity via having had the virus.
1 million vaccines a day. Accounting for the vaccine being 90% effective, and accounting for ~30% of vaccinations being "wasted" on people who already have immunity, that means every day we add about 630,000 new immune people. At that rate, by April 1st, 65% of Americans over the age of 18 will have immunity. If we increase our output to 1.5 million per day which is not only doable but probably lowballing it some, that number is 74% of adults. These estimates are likely on the low side of reality, because they're also not accounting for new cases between now and April 1 which would be a few million more.
By April 1st, here's what things are going to look like:
- 2/3 of adults in America have Covid immunity
- Almost every senior citizen (who wants it) vaccinated. Everybody with risk factors who wants it vaccinated
- Hospital admissions are going to be almost rock bottom, onesy-twosy type stuff.
- Deaths are going to be the same way. Near-zero regionally.
- The weather will be warmed up which helps transmission
If ya'll think we're not opening up basically fully at that point, ya'll are insane. Memorial Day is going to be the biggest party weekend our country has seen in a long time.
Isn’t 100,000,000 worldwide? Maybe I’m misunderstanding but switching from worldwide stats to America only vaccination rates is confusing me.
